Robert was very attentive to our dog. He took him on walks and spent a lot of time hanging out with him. He kept us updated throughout our trip and sent lots of pictures. We were very happy with him. I would highly recommend him and will use him again!

About: First things first I charge per visit per dog. I have worked at a doggy daycare where I look after dogs, clean up after them as well as bath them. I have been taking care of animals since I was 8 and dogs specifically for 10 years. I currently have 6 dogs that I care for. I have also cared for reptiles, rabbits, and cats. I walk my dogs (yes all 6 of them) daily and I find that I have extra time on my hands that I would love to help others with their pet needs, I do twice daily feedings, bi weekly washings and teeth brushing. I do use corrective action when needed such as squirt bottles with water ( some dogs like it and acts as a nice reward or distraction). I will clap or use a stern voice for corrections if necessary or basic commands like sit, stay, down to refocus their energy into something beneficial. For reward pets and treats of course if allowed, extended walks and or play times. I’ve also cared for injured dogs when necessary and dogs with medical issues that need medication.

Such a wonderful experience for us and our dogs, we are so glad Wendy was able to help our family. Our senior dogs were much better off in their own environment and we had peace of mind knowing they were well cared for. Wendy stayed over for 2 nights, brought treats, toys, puzzles, and took care of them like they were her own. We will definitely have Wendy back to watch them during our next trip away from home.

About: I have extensive experience caring for cats/kittens, dogs/puppies, hamsters, bunnies, fish, chinchillas, ferrets, and more! I have over 5 years of experience as a professional animal care-taker where I cared for all sorts of animals as well as gave advice to customers on individual issues with their pets. My family also owns a farm so I learned a respect for animals at a very young age! Currently I have 2 rambunctious pet ferrets but growing up I had 2 dogs, 2 cats, a bunny, and fish! I have cared for many dogs and puppies in my neighborhood and for family and friends. I love dogs of all sizes and don't mind caring for multiple pets. I am currently a student, so I'll have plenty of time for walks, to play fetch with your energetic puppy, clean up soiled puppy pads, whatever you need! I'm available for housesitting, drop-in visits, and walks. I can take your pups for as many walks as you'd like; I am a very active person who loves walking/hiking! If you have a high-energy dog I can also take them on my daily runs! If your pet is more relaxed, I also love just spending time playing and giving lots of pets.

About: I've been taking care of my best friend's and my neighbors' dogs since before I can remember, and have two very happy and healthy cats myself. I can take care of any animal, but cats and dogs are my favorites. I love to take dogs on walks and playing fetch (even on 100+ degree days) because every dog deserves the best treatment. Pet care is 24/7 for me with two cats, but since it's summertime, I'm able to be free any day of the week at any time to take care of pets, and can spend long amounts of time with pets without having to leave them. I will follow any and all rules and set by you, including feeding times, walk requests and more, as all I want is to ensure your pet is safe, happy, and taken care of properly. I am very enthusiastic about walks and even just playing with and petting dogs, and I just want to make sure pets are happy and healthy😸.

We had some last minute changes to our schedule and she was very flexible and willing to stay later into the night to make sure we have coverage for the dogs. We will definitely be using her in the future.

Justine did a wonderful job caring for our dog for the first time on two overnight stays. Our 10-year old pup is very anxious with rain and storms, and Justine made sure she was comfortable while we were away. Our dog also takes time to warm up to new people, and Justine was very patient with her, coming to visit several times before our trip to make sure the stay went smoothly. We will definitely call her again if we need someone to watch or walk our dog at our house!

Beverly was awesome. This was the first time we were away from our 150lb mastiff puppy and we were worried about him. Bev made us very comfortable during the meet and greet and communicated with us up until the the sit started to ensure she had all the details and care instructions. On the day of the sit she showed up right on time and settled in before we had to leave, so the puppies would get used to her being in the house. During the next few days she took wonderful care of our furbabies. She played with them and cuddled with them when they were moping and was persistent about trying to get them to eat. Pretty soon they were following her around everywhere. She sent us a lot of pictures of them and the house was immaculately clean when we got back. We would love for her to care for our babies again in the future.

Brian is an exceptional human being with tremendous integrity. We went away for two weeks and left him in charge of our home, our acreage, and our lively young cat. He was simply amazing in every way you wish a house sitter or a pet sitter could be. The phrase “above and beyond” came to our minds over and over while we were on our vacation. Our cat bonded with him deeply. In fact, she walked around the house crying for him in the evenings when we first returned home. She couldn’t figure out where her play buddy went. Brian was a fantastic communicator – – sharing all the ordinary goings-on‘s with the house and our cat, including cute photos and video clips. But he also really stepped up when a harder moment came. A powerful wind storm came through the area while we were away, and Brian did an outstanding job of prepping for a possible power outage— which did not end up happening. He also did a great job of communicating with us about any possible house or tree damage— which luckily also did not happen. What we appreciated most about Brian was his calm, warm, caring, and very-capable demeanor. We feel very blessed to have gotten to know him, and we plan to have him watch over our home and pets for years to come.

About: I have been volunteering in a local animal shelter for about 6 months and after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh I am looking to commit more time to helping out the people and pets in my community! In the shelter I helped admitted lost animals and I have experience walking and taking dogs out for field trips. During field trips I would walk dogs through frick park, relax on my porch, and take them to get a pup cup! I loved being able to help out the dogs and give them the love they deserve! I have passed the Fear Free shelter program and have experience with dog walking as well as caring for my family’s own cat and dog. I am excited to start this new journey! I currently work from home 9-5 in the Doylestown area. I’m an active adult who already likes to walk throughout my day and would love to add a dog friend to that! I would have time at lunch, as well as before or after work to care for your dog. My lunch is flexible so I can work around you! On weekends I have open availability. In the middle of work days I would not be able to provide more than 30 minutes walking or spending time with your dog, but before/after week days and during weekends I could spent up to and hour with your dog to give them extra love! In my client’s home I would care for the pet just as you would! I would ask for and follow your instructions on how you would like your pet cared for and would of course give him or her lots of love!

Robert is our go‑to pet sitter for our beloved Doberman, Tank. Whether it’s house sitting or 30‑minute walks, his love, respect, and knowledge of (large) dogs, along with his attentiveness to Tank’s medical needs, put our hearts and minds completely at ease. We know Tank isn’t just cared for, but truly enjoys his time with Robert! We receive daily updates with pictures, and Robert goes above and beyond by spoiling Tank with extra affection and attention. On top of being an exceptional pet sitter, he’s also a wonderful house guest. Thank you for all you do, Robert!

FAQs for House Sitting - Carversville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Carversville on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 5,414 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Carversville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Carversville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Carversville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Carversville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Carversville. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
