“Robert is an absolute lifesaver! He made my girls and me feel so relaxed and comfortable for our first time having a dog sitter. He kept us updated every day, and even though my girls have some anxiety issues, he handled everything so smoothly. Thanks again Rob and Rover!!!”
“Katie was an excellent dog sitter for our dog. She made contact with us every day to let us know how he was doing. She also sent several pictures of him throughout her stay. She always asked questions for anything that she was not sure of. We would definitely recommend her and use her in the future.”

About: I’ve taken care of a wide variety of pets. From small to medium to large dogs and cats to rats, hamsters, rabbits and guinea pigs to non-venomous snakes and lizards, I’ve been able to take parts in a number of fluff balls and scaly critters lives. I have experience in training young pups, litter training small mammals, and habituating reptiles. I like to be active, giving your pet all the attention they need. I do work a full time job that takes me away from the house from 7-3:30. I fit in a breakfast and a walk before leaving in the morning. From June 22-August 17, I work mon-thurs. the rest of the year is mon-fri I will walk your dog a minimum of 2 times a day, as well as play with them (provided there is a yard/space). I can continue training routines and generally spend much of my day giving attention to your pet. Additionally, if you maintain a garden or have potted plants, I will keep them happy and healthy as well
About: I have 3 older extra large dogs, 1 young medium dog, and 1 senior small dog. I’ve also had cats in my family. I’m used to caring for different sizes, ages, and energy levels, from slow walks with seniors to keeping up with younger, more active dogs. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, walks, and just making sure pets feel safe and cared for while their owners are away. I work part time from 12–3 on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, but my schedule is flexible and can change. Outside of those hours, I’m available mornings, evenings, and weekends, which gives me plenty of time to give pets consistent care, walks, feeding, and attention. I’m able to adjust my availability when needed. At my home, I have a large fenced yard where my dogs can safely play and spend time outside. I walk, feed, and play with them daily, and make sure they stay on a consistent routine. I’m very attentive to their needs and always make time for exercise, enrichment, and care throughout the day. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their usual routine as closely as possible. I make sure they are fed on time, have fresh water, get walks and playtime if needed, and feel comfortable and safe in their environment. I’m patient, reliable, and always treat every pet like my own.
“Angelica is amazing! Our two pups and lizards where taken care of very well. I highly recommend Angelica, she sent me lots of updates and pictures of babies. She also left the house clean and tidy. thank you so much for everything.”

“Kaitlyn - spent 48 hours in our home watching our 7 mos. old puppy. When we returned he was just as happy as before we left. Kaitlyn was communicative throughout the entire time and provided very thoughtful care to Rookie and our home.”

About: Growing up in a big dog- and cat-loving home, my affinity for animals was realized at an early age. I’ve been the go-to person amongst family and friends for pet care since I was a kid. I’ve dabbled in this passion on the side my whole life, but am now pursuing it full tilt and hope to build a career in conservational zoology. In 2020, pet care grew outside of my inner circle of friends and family, and I gained clientele I still work for to this day. While in Hawaii from August 2024 to February 2026, I dog-sat for five families on top of my day job, regularly tending to their pets every week (and some every day). This included walks and meals, house calls, trips to the beach, hikes, daily visits to the local dog parks, bathing and brushing, extended stays at my home while owners traveled, and coordinating play dates with other pet-sitters. I’ve handled animals of all sizes and temperaments, administered medication, and adhered to the specific needs of the families in my care. My focus is on the comfort, stimulation, and enrichment of your pet! I am reliable and flexible, and find genuine joy in this line of work. This is how I would prefer to spend my time! My Pets: My 120lb Saint Bernard/Bernese, Hobie, was my dutiful companion in pet care, living up to his “nanny dog” personality. In July 2025, he sadly passed at the young age of 2 due to congenital kidney failure, but his short life was full to the brim of adventures with furry friends! He was equally as loving as he was loved. My world completely revolved around him while I had him. Thistle and Pants are my two cats. Thistle is a 7 year old domestic long hair, and I’ve had her since she was 6 months old. She has very much been a partner in my pet care as well, having grown up with big dogs and preferring their company over other cats. She gives off that annoyed older sister vibe, but always wants to be near the other animals and people. Pants is a 5 month old Maine Coon kitten, and he makes himself right at home in any space he occupies. He’s adventurous and outspoken, and keeps Thistle moving (and slightly irritated) throughout the day. He’s proving to be too clever for his own good! I will be adding a new dog to the family in several months, and will undergo training with a focus on companionship and socialization. I can’t wait to have another partner in pet care! Letters of Recommendation are available upon request. Thank you so much for reading, I hope to work with you soon! Rachel I’m currently available all day Tuesday through Saturday! I’m an early riser, accustomed to starting my days around 5am. I’m quick to respond and very flexible. I will adhere to YOUR preferred form of care. I love going on drives, walks, and hikes and have a roomy CR-V perfect for transporting furry friends! I like arranging play dates with social pets, or spending one-on-one time for those that prefer to be solo. My apartment in Dublin has a spacious yard with a tall fence and tree shade, and I’m happy to take your pet to their known stomping grounds or on new adventures. I live about ten minutes away from Peace Valley Park, and twenty minutes from Nockamixon State Park. I will tend to a routine that is best for your pet, whether it involve a lot of free roaming and outdoor time, or adhering to crate-training preferences. I’m an advocate for leisurely “sniff walks”, and will ensure your pet gets the stimulation they need. This isn’t a turn-and-burn rush job for me, I’m here to provide what is most enriching for your pet.
“Kim was incredible staying overnight and taking care of our 14 week old puppy. She was incredibly patient with our puppy making sure she got frequent walks and plenty of exercise!”

About: I’ve been a huge animal lover and taken care of animals since I was about 14 years old. I have fed, walked, and spend time playing with dogs and cats of all ages. I’m very comfortable around dogs with different personalities and energy levels, and I always make sure they feel safe, cared for, and happy while their owners are away. I treat every pet like they’re my own and make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and care. I work from 7am to 5 pm monday-thursday every week, but I’m available most evenings and have open availability from Friday through Sunday. This allows me to spend quality time walking, playing with, and caring for pets. I have a fenced yard with plenty of space indoors and outdoors for animals to roam freely. I treat every pet like my own by providing a safe, calm environment and making sure they feel comfortable, well cared for, and loved while their owner is away.
“Danielle was amazing with my babies! I got regular updates with pictures and my pups always looked happy and super content to be all over her. And I came home to a clean house. I highly recommend!”

“Off to a great start with Marie! Responsive and communicative during the whole meet up process and sent reassuring updates complete with cute photos of our 2 little dudes from her first overnight. Handled all the instructions like a pro, including some last minute updates on treating a new little boo boo. Happy to have found her and already rebooked her. 😊”

I have been in the veterinary field for over 3.5 years and trained to give medications/ injections. I work with dogs and cats on a daily basis. You can count on me to make sure your pet is well cared for. I am currently working full time, however would like to have a side hustle caring for pets. Message me what your pet needs are, and I will see if we can make it work. I will make sure that your pet is fed, let out to the bathroom, and has lots of playtime. “We needed an emergency sitter for our puppy Pete who is recovering from surgery and Katryna came to the rescue. She was conscientious and very kind with our little guy and we would definitely have her watch him again.”

“We booked Wendy to stay in our home at nights and walk our dog while we were away. She bonded immediately with our german shepherd. It was great to see daily photos and messages of updates to help us rest assured that everything was good back home. She even inspired us with new ways to play with our dog once we returned. So helpful. And the cherry on top was our home was spotless when we got back. Such a huge sigh of relief, and our dog girl was happy, well groomed, and wagging her tail the entire time! Will book again in a heartbeat on our next get away! 10/10”

“This was Morgan’s third stay with our Jenny. We had a flight delay getting home from Europe and Morgan was able to help us out so we did not have to worry about Miss Jenny with all the flight chaos that was going on. Highly recommend her.”
“Juliette was so responsive with the lead-up to her watching my cat, Artemis. She contacted me about how Artemis was doing during each visit and she was so kind. I would recommend booking her because she really made sure Artemis was well looked after.”

About: I have been volunteering in a local animal shelter for about 6 months and after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh I am looking to commit more time to helping out the people and pets in my community! In the shelter I helped admitted lost animals and I have experience walking and taking dogs out for field trips. During field trips I would walk dogs through frick park, relax on my porch, and take them to get a pup cup! I loved being able to help out the dogs and give them the love they deserve! I have passed the Fear Free shelter program and have experience with dog walking as well as caring for my family’s own cat and dog. I am excited to start this new journey! I currently work from home 9-5 in the Oakland area. I’m an active adult who already likes to walk throughout my day and would love to add a dog friend to that! I would have time at lunch, as well as before or after work to care for your dog. My lunch is flexible so I can work around you! On weekends I have open availability. In the middle of work days I would not be able to provide more than 30 minutes walking or spending time with your dog, but before/after week days and during weekends I could spent up to and hour with your dog to give them extra love! In my client’s home I would care for the pet just as you would! I would ask for and follow your instructions on how you would like your pet cared for and would of course give him or her lots of love!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Gardenville
Neda watched our cats for a week and took great care of them. Our resident cat is a happy to meet new people and Neda spent time cuddling and playing with her. Our foster cat is very, very timid and Neda messaged a few times to ask about her habits and if her hiding all the time is normal. Neda was easy to communicate with, quick to respond to questions I had and was nice enough to bring in packages that were delivered during her stay. We will definitely use her sitting services again!

Thank you Robert for taking care of my 2 papillons Annie and Zac. We came out of town to tour Fonthill castle & Mercer museum (no pets allowed) cannot speak for them, but they looked happy when I returned after our tour (6.5hrs). Did recieve pics of them Would use him again if in that area. Thanks again Robert

Simone has been great with my senior dog! She house sat and watched her at my apartment almost every day for a week and I felt like I left my girl in great hands. She sends lots of updates and photos throughout the day which was SUPER appreciated! Definitely recommend!

I've only used Molly once, but I would definitely use her again. She immediately bonded with Abby and took great care of her. She kept in contact with me to let me know everything was going well. I couldn't have asked for more than she did. I'd highly recommend her for anyone looking for a dog sitter who does a great job and gives you peace of mind.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Gardenville on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 5,548 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Gardenville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gardenville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gardenville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gardenville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gardenville. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
