I have trained and cared for dogs and horses throughout the years. I am easygoing, yet direct in my approach to care and comfort the animals i have and host. I am home most days and evenings. I primarily work from home and I am active throughout the day. I typically take morning, mid day and evening walks with my dog(s) and allow them to have free roam in the house and yard. I am to offer flexiblility with your pets needs at my home or in yours. My home is pet friendly, accommodating and safe, I also have a fully fenced yard with patio, grass areas and gardens. I make sure that food, water, treats and play things are available at all times for all pets. I also set areas for downtime, relaxation and naps inside and outside the house, and provide regular interaction and amusement throughout the day.

She responds extremely quickly to all messages and was very friendly and happy to have Bruiser in her house, which was beautiful and very clean. We could tell she had prepared to watch Bruiser and listened to all of our notes and instructions for him. Bruiser can sometimes be antsy when in a new place or with strangers, but he seemed more at home with Athena than at our hotel! We are more than happy with Bruiser’s stay with Athena and will absolutely use her again next time we bring Bruiser to Carmel!”

About: For over 10 years I ran a successful dog walking and pet sitting business in San Francisco. I specialize in smaller dogs (0-20lbs) and have the sweetest little girl of my own adopted from Peace of Mind Dog Rescue in Pacific Grove. My schedule is very flexible as I am home regularly during the day working my other job as a remote web developer. In other words, your pup will have around the clock supervision from very attentive playmates, including my two kids who just love animals and have their fair share of experience fostering through Peace of Mind. My home is very safe and clean with a fully enclosed backyard directly across from Paraiso Park in Monterey providing plenty of opportunities to play at the park. We look forward to spending lots of quality time with your pup!

He grew up in a happy family who took him on many trips overseas, so he learned about other countries and their peoples and he has always made friends with people he has met from other places in the world. When he lived in San Francisco, he set up and owned a dog walking group that was very successful. Then he married and they eventually ended up in the beautiful area of Monterey. His sister has always been interested in dogs and horses and volunteered at the local Oakland dog adoption agency. Ruth was great! Flexible with our plans, sent photos of Willow at the beach, relayed great stories of her days. This was my first Rover booking & I had anxiety; Ruth allayed those concerns and Willow was so excited to see her the next day! This made it so nice for my mom & I to enjoy the Aquarium and other sites without worrying about how Willow was doing all the time. She came home tired and happy. Best that a dog mom could ask for!
