They obviously liked her because they weren't overly excited when I came to pick up like they always are when I come home. She was very detailed about wanting specific details about feeding, going outside, sleeping, toys, treats, etc. and I felt 100% comfortable leaving them. We will definitely use her again. That being said, I probably wouldn't take a large dog because of it being a small apartment but it was perfectly fine for our small dogs.”

“If there is anyone that I would want to watch my dog while I was out of town it would be Chris (she’s also a local Vet tech). She took great care of my child/dog Aldo while I was gone for a few days. She always sent me pics of him having a great time at her house playing with the all the toys and her 2 dogs, always took him for walks, and gave him treats. He usually sleeps on his bed on the floor but when I came back he was sleeping on Chris’ bed... Now he sleeps in my bed every night since I picked Him up!! 5/5 stars and a great person too!”

About: As a child we weren't allowed to have cats despite wanting one. My brother and I secretly fed and cared for a stray in our garage until we were caught and had to find a proper home for her. Now my parents have a cat! I've cared for Cali a few times in recent years when they would travel. Most recently I spent three months in Italy at a villa and part of my job was to care for Tinker, a brave and friendly male cat whom I adored. About: I’m the mom to a cat named Zeppelin, a dog named Stevie and a horse named Cece. I successfully trained both Stevie and Zeppelin (yes you can train a cat!) myself and have dabbled in equine training as well. Being the guardian of a nervous, reactive pup, I pride myself on understanding animal behavior and dog body language. After bringing Stevie home, I was quickly thrown into the world of dog training and behavior modification out of necessity and I have a special place in my heart for nervous pups. I've even started training other people's dogs on the side! After training my own dog, I fell in love with the process and couldn't put it down! We met David for an introductory visit and he gave us a tour of his excellent facilities, introduced Blu to his own dog and cat, and immediately put us all at ease. When our plans changed at the last minute, he was flexible and accommodating. “Athena watched our large breed dog for two nights in a row and we were extremely happy with how she took care of him and handled the entire process! She responds extremely quickly to all messages and was very friendly and happy to have Bruiser in her house, which was beautiful and very clean. We could tell she had prepared to watch Bruiser and listened to all of our notes and instructions for him. Bruiser can sometimes be antsy when in a new place or with strangers, but he seemed more at home with Athena than at our hotel! About: Easy going and adaptable dog walker with experience! Animal lover and grad student wanting to work on the side! Looking forward to meeting you and your pets! I am currently a full time graduate student which consists of a pretty busy schedule during the week but leaves the weekends very open. Also, on breaks, usually consisting of 4-6 weeks at a time, my schedule is wide open to accommodate a variety of dog walking needs. I have a fenced backyard with a moderate amount of space to run around. About: I've grown up with dogs my whole life and have always loved them. I'm the one my friends and family always ask to watch their pups, it's something I've always loved doing. My dog Charles has been my shadow for the last 10 years, and although he much prefers the couch life, he still joins me on walks and hikes when he's up for an adventure. I'm new to the Monterey area and currently have a flexible schedule, so I have plenty of time for walks, drop-ins, and quality time with your dog. I'm available throughout the week and can easily work around what you need. Over the last several months, I've cared for my family's two dogs across several trips while they traveled. Charles gets along great with dogs of any size, he's been living happily alongside both of them and loves playing in the backyard together. On walks, I always double check your dog's leash, collar, or harness before heading out to make sure everything is secure, and I stay alert to traffic, other dogs, and anything that might spook a nervous pup. For drop-ins and house sitting, I treat your home like it's my own. That means doors and gates stay locked, food and water are kept fresh and where they should be, and I leave everything exactly as I found it, plus regular updates and photos so you're never left wondering how things are going :)

About: I have the most experience with various dog breeds young and old. More recently I have grown to also love and care for cats. Most of my full time experience has been with my personal dogs. Zoe, an Australian Shepard, was a shining light in my life for 14 years. Prior to Zoe I had Max, a sweet and gentle Rottweiler I was with for 6 years. For the past 4 years I've been spending a lot of time caring for the beloved pets and homes of my friends and family. I'm a retired teacher so my schedule is pretty flexible. I do some regular volunteer work with cancer patients a few hours each week. I walk or hike daily and a furry companion would be welcome. It's one of the main reasons I signed up for Rover! I am also now on Trusted Housesitters and have experience caring for pets in client's homes. I could have a pet in my home for short visits. I live near a lovely wooded trail that dogs LOVE.

Weekdays I’d be available 4pm and after for walks, drop ins or stays.
