“Ashley was amazing with our little Boston! We had adorable “Proof of Life” photos sent to us as well as updates on his activities and overall well being. Thank you again! Max can’t wait to snuggle again!”

About: As a former dog groomer of 4 years, I have experience with many dog breeds, including giant breeds, senior pets, and special needs dogs! I moved to Florida last year and miss working with so many dogs. I’m very active, and happy to adventure with your pets outside, or lounge around with them for a bit if that’s more their style :) I work part time as a barista in town, with a flexible schedule. I can easily work around odd hours and events to prioritize your pets schedule I prioritize safety and fun when sitting for anyone, including family! I have several dog grooming certifications, one of which included an aggressive dog training course & insight to behavior cues. I’ll always be aware of our surroundings and keeping an eye on your pet!
“Brook was great with Sophie - playing with her and taking her for walks. She also brought my packages in, took my bins out on trash day and left my home neat. Brook stayed in touch with photos - much appreciated since this was the first time she fur-babysat in my home. I’d highly recommend Brook and I plan to schedule her services again.”

“Lori was attentive and loving to my 3 fur babies. I got pictures and updates through out. They actually seemed like they didn't miss us when we got back (because they were enjoying their time with Lori so much). Thanks so much!”
“Amy was great with our senior dog and took great care of the house while we were away for a long weekend. We came home to a happy pup and the house was spotless. Her communication throughout the trip was great - we will absolutely be using Amy again.”

About: I provide personalized, attentive care and treat every pet like a member of my own family. With years 12 of experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities, I’m comfortable adapting to each pet’s unique needs and routine. I have experience caring for playful puppies who need extra supervision, frequent potty breaks, and consistency, as well as senior dogs who benefit from a slower pace, patience, and extra comfort. I’m also comfortable administering oral and injectable medications and following detailed care instructions to ensure your pet stays healthy and on schedule. What sets me apart is the level of communication and care I provide. You’ll receive regular photo and video updates, quick responses, and the peace of mind that your pet is being cared for in a safe, loving home. Pet care is a big part of our daily routine! My husband, Isaiah, works Monday through Friday from 5:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and I bartend in the evenings from 4:00 PM until around 1:00 AM. Because of our opposite schedules, your dog receives plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m home during the mornings and afternoons for walks, playtime, feeding, and potty breaks before leaving for work, and Isaiah is home in the late afternoons and evenings to continue their care before I return home at night. We work together to make sure every dog stays on their normal routine with regular potty breaks, meals, exercise, and lots of love and attention. Our goal is for every pup to feel safe, comfortable, and right at home while you’re away. My home is kept clean, pet-friendly, and free of hazards to provide a safe environment. If I have multiple boarding dogs, I carefully consider each dog’s temperament and only accept pets that I know can safely coexist. If needed, dogs can be separated during meals, rest time, or whenever it’s in their best interest. I also provide regular photo and video updates because I know how reassuring it is to see your pet happy and having fun while you’re away. My goal is for both you and your pet to feel completely comfortable, confident, and stress-free throughout the stay.

About: I have been surround by dogs my whole life both big and small, rowdy and timid, and anything in between. I have a Chihuahua rat terrier and a Berniedoodle at the moment and love them both dearly. I have also dog sat and walked dogs for my neighbors for the past five years. I currently work a job 2 days a week, so I have a very flexible schedule to be able to be with your pets! I work Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings but I am able to come both before and after my shift to walk or feed your babies. To help with the safety of your pet I will always follow the instructions given to me to ensure your baby does not feel any discomfort.
About: • I’m a mom of four children (three grown and moved out) who loves pets. I grew up with a black Lab, then a Collie mix, then a mutt. My favorite Siamese cat, Tiger, lived to 23. • I am a ghost writer with flexible, remote hours. Having animals to tend gets me up from the computer at regular intervals. Now that our youngest drives, I am more available for drop-in visits. • I grew up marveling at how animals interact with their environments in sensible ways. Like humans, they need to feel secure in order to perform tricks or follow commands consistently.
“Caitlyn went above and beyond with our pets. We were able to rest assured that they were in good hands. She was also willing to help us last minute and we couldn't have asked for more.”

“Mariah was an excellent communicator and my dog loves her. She ended up needing to modify our reservation, but still ensured my pup was still well cared for throughout the stay.”

“We can't say enough good things about Kristen! She stayed at our house and took such good care of Misha, our high energy, 100lb German Shepard mix, for 2 weeks. We never had to worry with all of the great updates she sent us and knew Misha was in great hands with her. She is a true dog lover through and through, has great communication, and went above and beyond to make sure Misha got his enrichment, lots of playtime, and love from her. We can already tell that he misses having her around :) We also really appreciate Kristen making sure to take care of our plants, and basic household things while we were gone, and left the house clean and tidy when we returned. I highly recommend booking Kristen to care for your fur baby. They'll be in great hands and she will care for them like one of her own. We will definitely be booking with her again soon! Thanks for everything, Kristen!”

“We have some energetic dogs, and this was our first time with Jonathan. He did a wonderful job keeping them happy while we were out of town. He made our trip preparation worry free, kept us updated with photos of the pups, and most of all kept them safe and happy. Highly recommend!! :)”

“Kadence was terrific with our babies. We were out of the country but she sent updates, photos and a video. She stayed at our house and took great care of our pups. She’s been very reliable and my dogs love her. We will definitely use her for our next trip!”

“Patsy is wonderful! She’s so good with my little maltipoo and treated her with so much love. I was comforted and entertained with pics of my pup who clearly was happy to be with Patsy. I highly recommend her and will be contacting her again!”

“Julian did an excellent job taking care of my cat Simon. He followed all my instructions exactly like I wanted. He fed Simon at the appropriate schedule, cleaned his litter box, and made sure his water bowl was clean and filled. He also took the time to play with him and pet him so he wouldn’t feel lonely. I would hire Julian to take care of my cat again in a heartbeat.”

About: I'm a 30 year old that currently has three sweet dogs and a cat of her own! I love all animals and I have experience with many different dogs and cats- big, small, playful or couch potato. I'm attentive, energetic and willing to give your pet all the play time they need! Your pet will be treated like royalty, and given all the love and treats they can dream of. I'm flexible, responsible and have plenty of experience caring for both cats and dogs! All of my previous and current fur babies are rescues, and unfortunately, some had horrible past owners. This gave me experience working with pets with anxiety and fear. I'm great with training, and will give your pet positive reinforcement in the form of lots of love, belly rubs, and scritches! Your pup will be in safe, loving hands when I'm around. I'm willing to give baths as well as administer oral medication if needed, and send many updates and pictures during your service! I have a lot experience with senior pets, having had 3 senior pets of my own previous, and currently have an 11 year old senior who gets routine oral medication via pill and oral syringe, so I have practice with admistering both. Having seen many of my pets through their senior lives, I am quick to spot any signs of medical emergency or off symptoms. Your pets will be getting my 12+ years of experience with my own animals. I have a flexible schedule currently, and I'd be happy to do a meet a greet! I hope to hear from you and be trusted with your fur babies! My schedule is pretty open and flexible so I'll have plenty of time to pamper your fur baby! I'm available during weekdays primarily, and can be available most weekends given prior notice. I have a large fenced yard for your baby to run around and play in, and very friendly pets to keep your fur baby company, if they want! I can easily crate your pup if it is needed as well.
“Kya took care of our pup in our home for 5 days while we went on vacation and she was awesome! She is so kind, responsive, and most importantly she took great care of our girl! Kya also took good care of our home! Will recommend her to everyone we know, and will definitely be requesting her for future care!”

“Diana was wonderful watching Barney for a house sit when I was out of town for a few days. She provided very frequent updates with pictures and my home was in the same condition if not nearer than when I left..”

Michele did a great job watching our Livia while we were in CA. We were very comfortable knowing she was well taken care of. Michele took Livia for a morning walk daily and kept us updated with pictures and notes. She is highly recommended and we wouldn't hesitate to use her again.

FAQs for House Sitting - Cape Canaveral
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Cape Canaveral on Rover is $45 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 714 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cape Canaveral. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cape Canaveral walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cape Canaveral maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cape Canaveral choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
