“Jessica did a great job checking in on our cat while we were away on vacation. Even though our cat is wary of strangers, he warmed up to her pretty quickly. She was very responsive and helpful. I would hire Jessica again in a heartbeat! Thank you for taking great care of our fur baby!”

“Always have a great experience. I travel at very strange times often with about 3 hours notice. Never had an issue with response time, ability to come by or treatment of my sweet Zoe girl. Thank you!”
“Brittany was AWESOME, and my furry friend, Hugo, loved her! It was easy to work with Brittany, she was attentive to my and Hugo's needs, and communication was a breeze with her. I recommend Brittany, and I am thankful for her help :-)”

“Shemoy was great taking care of our two kitties and drop in visits! She kept us informed for each of her visits with pictures and she was always quick to respond to any messages. We will definitely have her back!”

“Zenie is such a sweet and kind soul! She was really great about sending updates with photos of our pups. Zenie also did a great job at cleaning up muddy prints from the floor since it was a little rainy while we were away. 😊 She even left a such a thoughtful note and "ducked" me since she is a fellow Jeeper. We look forward to booking with her again!!”

“Hannah is awesome and so good with our animals! They warmed up to her right away, even our super shy kitty. She is very thorough and not afraid to ask questions to make sure the animals are taken care of perfectly. She was very patient and easy going after we had some issues with getting her in the house. Will definitely be my go to sitter for my fur babies from now on.”

“Jordan is by far the most professional and caring pet sitter that I have ever met. I could not recommend her more. She sends me tons of photos and a very detailed overview of what happened during her time at my house. 5 stars is not enough!”

“Thank you so much for taking such great care of my pups. They are my family and knowing you were taking such great care of them while I was away was such a relief! Thank you again!!”

“Couldn't have asked for a better cat sitter! She took great care of our cat. Sent us detailed messages and lots of photos every day. Highly recommend! We plan to use her again.”

“Torrie is someone you can fully trust with your pets! She is extremely prompt in communicating, takes the best pictures, and your dogs and cats will have the best time! She’s perfect for all pet parents, especially anxious ones 😅 She has such a sweet spirit about her too. Thanks again Torrie!”

“Hannah was wonderful with our dog. She had great communication and she also was able to come last minute when our other sitter canceled. I will definitely be requesting her again!”

“Stephanie was AMAZING!! She made us feel so comfortable. She was so prompt with check-in and updates. Our dog has seizures and she was knowledgeable and willing to accommodate that! 12/10 recommend”

“Samantha was great through out the entire trip. She kept us up to date with good photos and clear communication. I appreciated her coming over ahead of the trip to meet the dogs and to get specific questions answered.”

“Alexis took great care of our three dogs. She is attentive and noticed a wound that I forgot to tell her about on one of them and engaged with me about it. She stopped by as requested for multiple play times and to feed the dogs.”

About: Moved to California, MD area from being stationed in Japan! With a lifetime of experience caring for cats and dogs, I know that pets are more than just animals—they’re family. I’ve raised three dogs and currently have both a poodle and a cat. My skills include puppy training, crate training, basic command training, and managing pets with medical needs, including medication administration. I’m also experienced with reactive dogs, allergies, and maintaining breed-specific grooming standards. As a passionate pet lover, I volunteered with the Red Cross animal visitation program while Active Duty & St Mary Animal Humane Society. You can trust me to treat your pets with the same love and attention I give my own! I work part-time and live 10 minutes from my house. I always check in on my pets during lunch. My husband works nights so he is home while I’m at work and we switch. I have a fenced yard, and lots of dog friendly walking areas. I have two friendly pets who do very well with other animals. I crate my dog when I leave home for safety & use cameras to check in on them.

Jessica was amazing with our three cats! She made sure to give them plenty of love and time while she dropped in. We had a weird situation with our apartment smoke detectors and she was very sweet about it and even helped us out! Will 100% use her to watch our cats again!

Caitlyn was a phenomenal sitter for my boys! I knew she was kind with animals from the start—my cat let her rub his belly immediately during the meet-and-greet 😊 She went out of her way for me several times in two days. When I was nervous that I hadn’t seen one of my cats on a camera, she rushed over to check on them before she was scheduled to. Her responsiveness is SO appreciated. My cats were in safe hands with Caitlyn and I will definitely be booking with her in the future! 🙏🏼

Jazmine has watched our dogs and kitten 3 times now and each time she’s done amazing and gone above and beyond for them we truly appreciate her and are very comfortable leaving our pets with her knowing they are in good hands! She’s so sweet and very accommodating. If you are thinking about booking her please do she’s awesome!

Briana has always been wonderful EVERYTIME I have contacted her to care for my fur baby!! A++++ service and an amazing person! I love that she was flexible with me and always see adorable picture update. It always puts my mind at ease when I know Briana is watching my fur baby. 100% Recommend!

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience while we were in Hawaii. Grace came by twice a day to feed our dogs, play with them, and give them plenty of love and attention. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such caring hands. We came home to two very happy pups and could tell they were well cared for the whole time. We’ll definitely be booking again for future trips highly recommend! 🐾

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in California. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
