“Made our experience leaving our pup for first time with a dog sitter great. Shoshana was very accommodating with pick up and drop off times , updated us with comments and photos and made this a very positive experience.”

“Patrisha was fantastic for my puppy! She sent me photos and a video of them out walking in the snow, it was much appreciated! When I picked him up the next day I expected him to be a mess b/c of the snow, but she had bathed him and everything!! Thx so much”

“Wilbur, our Standard Dachshund spent three weeks with Trevor and Sheila and he was a pampered pooch under their care. He even gained some weight and from the videos/photos, had a lot of fun playing with other dogs, lying on the grass soaking up the sun, and watching Blue Jay’s games with Trevor (or more likely snoozing). There was a potential medical emergency while we were away and Trevor took immediate action to notify Rover and Rover, in turn, contacted us. As we quickly found out, it was a false alarm so we did not have to worry. Thank you for your care Trevor and Sheila!”

“We loved Morgan and would highly recommend her. She sent daily photos and updates on how our Oliver was doing. Oliver needed special care as a senior dog and Morgan handles it like a pro. We’d give more stars but there are only five to give. Thank you, Morgan and family!”

“I don’t have enough good things to say about Shreyas and his pet care. We have used his services I believe 3 or 4 times now for our high energy doggy, Lennie. Shreyas and his family are friendly, responsive, reassuring, flexible, and cares deeply. He always provides a ton of updates on the dogs and is just amazing. Our dog is extremely high energy and we have a lot of anxiety with her around people because of her energy. Shreyas reassures us that she’s a good pup and gets her calm quickly. We appreciate him so much and will use him whenever we go away! Thanks so much for everything, Shreyas!”

“We were left in a pinch when our dog sitter was unable to take our pup, Chloe was responsive and available in short notice to take her. Our dog Nellie is a sweet girl but she has a lot of anxiety and requires an environment in which she feels safe, which is not always easy to find. Chloe met Nellie prior to us leaving her in her care and the meeting went well. Chloe was caring and receptive to Nellie’s anxiety and maintained a calming environment for her to settle into. Chloe was also very flexible with drop off and pick up times as well. Nellie did very well in Chloe’s care and we will definitely book with her again.”

“This family took great care of our two small dogs. We weren’t sure how it would go in a home with two large dogs but all seemed ok. They were very accommodating to the needs of our senior dogs who are very set in their ways. We received regular picture updates which was very reassuring while on a 10 day vacation. We would book with them again if we need a sitter.”

“Kelsey was awesome! Her communication was quick and thorough before and throughout my dogs’s stay. She kept me updated with how things were going and my dogs seemed to love it at her place!”

“Carla was amazing with our dog, Frannie! Carla provided photos and updates daily which was so greatly appreciated. Will definitely be booking with Carla again for future boarding needs! Thanks so much for caring for Frannie with so much care.”

“Deep and Jyoti absolutely love my Sherlock and he has the best time there. My first priority will always be deep and Jyoti always to look after my boy. They're always awesome”

“We were very pleased with the care our boys received while we were away on vacation. I really appreciated the daily updates and photos as we missed our kitties so much! Yiwen and Lucas's warmth and caring nature came shining through. We would definitely have them for our pet sitters again.”

“Bella had a fabulous time staying at Mitchell's and playing with her puppy friends Willow and Odin! She's always in a great disposition when we pick her up. Thank you Mitchell!”

“From the beginning of booking for my dog stay, it was easy, and I felt very welcomed and comfortable. Lady was at ease and treated very well, which I love to see and hear. I got pictures of her and being cared for. I definitely plan to book again. Which I have done already!!”

“I really enjoyed how I would get updates on Marcy. It reassured us she was doing good. Lindsay and her family were very accommodating to Marcy and made her feel at home. I appreciate it so much. Thank you. I recommend Lindsay to anyone looking for a sitter for their lovely pets.”

“Ruth was so lovely. She welcomed my boy with open arms very last minute & took great care of him! I have an anxious pupper and she was able to keep him relaxed and comfortable. She played fetch with him and took him for walks which is greatly appreciated. We will see you again Ruth! Thank you very much for looking after my boy!”

“Marie, Harvey and Michael were amazing with Croozer. They were attentive to him, took him for lots of walks and sent me lots of updates/pictures! I will definitely be booking with them again.”

“We had a great experience with Kurt & his family. They were reliable, kind, and clearly cared a lot about my dog Mocha. Communication was excellent throughout, and we really appreciated the updates and photos. Mocha was clearly a very happy dog, well-taken care of, and comfortable the entire time. We felt totally at ease knowing Mocha was in such good hands and would absolutely book again. Highly recommend!”

“Cassie absolutely loves going to Wendy’s. As soon as we pull up to her house Cassie gets excited. She loves playing in her big back yard. Also Wendy is very accommodating and helped me out by taking Cassie for an extra night as I was stuck out of town with travel not recommended.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Saskatoon
Rachel took great care of my dogs, Paimon and Levi, and they had a calm and comfortable weekend with her. I was able to fully enjoy my trip knowing my babies were in good hands. Her dog, Sadi, was also wonderful and helped my dogs feel more at ease. Rachel kept me updated every day and sent me photos, which I really appreciated. She will definitely be my first choice for my next trip!
Morgan was amazing! My dog is quite anxious and quirky and she was welcoming, kind and unfazed. It took my dog a while but he got comfortable with her, which eased my worries. She communicated promptly and regularly. Also, her pets at home are very friendly and calm, just like her!

Mikela was responsive, communicated clearly and took very good care of my dog. She went out of her way to buy chicken-free treats to accommodate his allergy. She also clipped his nails (after checking with me) while he stayed with her. She sent updates and photos to reassure me that my dog was safe and happy throughout his stay. I would leave my dog with her again.

Kaitlyn was easy to communicate with and was able and willing to accommodate a last minute request! She asked good questions, was knowledgeable and I felt very comfortable having her watch our pup! She sent updates and photos throughout the day - which I appreciated. Rosin and Kona had a great time together and I'd definitely book again in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
