“Cassandra took wonderful care of Maisy during her overnight boarding stay. She provided regular updates, photos, and detailed messages which really gave us peace of mind while we were away. It was clear Maisy felt comfortable and safe — she was relaxed, playful, and even slept well through the night. Cassandra was very attentive to Maisy’s routine and needs, and communication was smooth and easy the entire time. We truly appreciated the care and would absolutely book with her again.”

“Shreyas went above and beyond for the care of our dog. Originally, it was for our two dogs but unfortunately our one gal had to be put down a day before we left. He was incredible compassionate and understanding with the hard situation. He gave our Sadie amazing care, sent pictures and videos every day and really left us at ease knowing she was in great hands. I couldn’t recommend him any more highly. He is incredible. Thank you so much ♥️”
“Jenna took such good care of Beijo, we didn’t worry about him one bit! He got along so well with her sweet dachshund, Frankie, and we got updates and pictures throughout! Jenna was flexible with my flight cancellation, rebooking and delays - thank you so much!!”

“We loved Morgan and would highly recommend her. She sent daily photos and updates on how our Oliver was doing. Oliver needed special care as a senior dog and Morgan handles it like a pro. We’d give more stars but there are only five to give. Thank you, Morgan and family!”

“I left my dogs with Javiera for the 2nd time and they were very well looked after. I had no concerns leaving them with her and the dogs were excited when we arrived at her house. Javiera sent me pictures during their stay and followed their normal routine, even taking them on more walks than they normally get. The dogs were happy and healthy when I picked them up. I will definitely contact Javiera again!”

“Ruth was so lovely. She welcomed my boy with open arms very last minute & took great care of him! I have an anxious pupper and she was able to keep him relaxed and comfortable. She played fetch with him and took him for walks which is greatly appreciated. We will see you again Ruth! Thank you very much for looking after my boy!”

“Carla was super accommodating! My dog is often very anxious around new people but she settled right in! I am thrilled to have found a reliable sitter for my fur baby!”

“Trevor and Shelia were amazing. Our dogs were very happy and they were awesome at communicating and sending pics. Will definitely bring them back!! Thanks so much!!”

“I really enjoyed how I would get updates on Marcy. It reassured us she was doing good. Lindsay and her family were very accommodating to Marcy and made her feel at home. I appreciate it so much. Thank you. I recommend Lindsay to anyone looking for a sitter for their lovely pets.”

“She was WONDERFUL! Ozzy had friends to play with and humans to love him up all weekend. We got home and he crashed. He was so tired! Thank you so much Wendy for looking after my puppy. 100% recommend”

“Bella had a fabulous time staying at Mitchell's and playing with her puppy friends Willow and Odin! She's always in a great disposition when we pick her up. Thank you Mitchell!”

“Patrisha was really amazing. She had our kitty for 3 weeks and we couldn’t be happier with the whole experience. She was very accommodating to my several schedule changes both before drop off and at pick up. She provided lots of pictures and is very quick to respond to texts. Our cat is quite standoffish and not a fan of most people but she warmed up to the family and was even asleep in someone’s lap when we came to pick her up. If I ever need another pet sit I will 100% reach out to Patrisha first and would recommend her to anyone who wants a great experience for their pet.”

“Roberta is very experienced in taking very good care of my 15 month cockapoo Kody. Kody enjoyed his stay with her family and returned home happy and relaxed. I highly recommend her services to other pet owners without any reservation.”

“Many Thanks to SherryLynn. It was such a peace of mind to go away for a few days and know that my sweet little Pippin was in good hands. SherryLynn was so thoughtful to send me pics of my pup everyday. I for sure will be calling SherryLynn again to take care of my little boy.”

“My pup seemed thrilled to spend time with Kelsey and her family! Kelsey was flexible and communicative, and I appreciated her updates and photos of my dog living his best life. I’m sure he’ll be keen to return!”

“This family took great care of our two small dogs. We weren’t sure how it would go in a home with two large dogs but all seemed ok. They were very accommodating to the needs of our senior dogs who are very set in their ways. We received regular picture updates which was very reassuring while on a 10 day vacation. We would book with them again if we need a sitter.”

“Sonja was absolutely amazing with Stella. She cared for her as if she was her own. She kept us updated with sweet pictures of Stella during our time away We will definitely be booking with her again. Thanks Sonja for making our holiday worry free!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Saskatoon
Maya had a blast with her new friends Shoshana, Murphy, and family (have the pictures to prove it)! Shoshana was easy to communicate with, responded promptly, and included updates. I felt that Maya was safe and being taken care of, whether that was with cuddles, a fun environment to explore, nutrition, or being included in activities. Maya looks forward to staying with Shoshana again!

Cassandra has taken care of my dog, Melon, on a few occasions, and recently boarded for the night. Melon can be a bit shy, but when I showed up the other day, and Melon was excited to see Cassandra and her partner, I was assured she’d be fine spending the night. Cassandra has been thoughtful and nurturing, making Melon feel comfortable. She has a calm, grounding energy that makes her excellent with animals.

Rachel took great care of my dogs, Paimon and Levi, and they had a calm and comfortable weekend with her. I was able to fully enjoy my trip knowing my babies were in good hands. Her dog, Sadi, was also wonderful and helped my dogs feel more at ease. Rachel kept me updated every day and sent me photos, which I really appreciated. She will definitely be my first choice for my next trip!
Morgan was amazing! My dog is quite anxious and quirky and she was welcoming, kind and unfazed. It took my dog a while but he got comfortable with her, which eased my worries. She communicated promptly and regularly. Also, her pets at home are very friendly and calm, just like her!

Mikela was responsive, communicated clearly and took very good care of my dog. She went out of her way to buy chicken-free treats to accommodate his allergy. She also clipped his nails (after checking with me) while he stayed with her. She sent updates and photos to reassure me that my dog was safe and happy throughout his stay. I would leave my dog with her again.

Kaitlyn was easy to communicate with and was able and willing to accommodate a last minute request! She asked good questions, was knowledgeable and I felt very comfortable having her watch our pup! She sent updates and photos throughout the day - which I appreciated. Rosin and Kona had a great time together and I'd definitely book again in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
