“Shoshana and her family took great care of Coco while we were away! I felt confident she was in good hands and Shoshana provided daily updates and pictures of their time together. Highly recommend!”

“Hailie and Alexander were very accommodating and provided updates and pictures throughout the day which was great! Highly recommend and will book with them again.”

“Shreyas took excellent care of our dog while we were away. He was very communicative and sent lots of photos and videos. We knew she was in good hands. She had some trouble at night time with anxiety which he was able to handle no problem.”

“Fantastic experience for us and our dog! Our somewhat anxious little guy loved his time with Jenna, which was a huge relief. We got lots of pictures and updates which was great. Highly recommend!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Mrunal and Amey! They were able to watch our golden retriever on very short notice and did an amazing job. Communication was excellent, and we loved receiving lots of photos and videos throughout the stay. We would absolutely recommend them and would happily have them watch our pup again!”

“Trevor and Sheila were a perfect fit for Charlie and made her feel immediately comfortable in their care. They are a friendly welcoming couple who you will definitely feel secure leaving your pet with. I liked that there is always someone home with whomever they are sitting. Charlie will be returning!”

“Second time booking with Patrisha and honestly comfortable leaving our dog with her. Great communication highly recommended and look forward to her keeping our puppy again.”

“We were left in a pinch when our dog sitter was unable to take our pup, Chloe was responsive and available in short notice to take her. Our dog Nellie is a sweet girl but she has a lot of anxiety and requires an environment in which she feels safe, which is not always easy to find. Chloe met Nellie prior to us leaving her in her care and the meeting went well. Chloe was caring and receptive to Nellie’s anxiety and maintained a calming environment for her to settle into. Chloe was also very flexible with drop off and pick up times as well. Nellie did very well in Chloe’s care and we will definitely book with her again.”

“Lindsay was great!! She went above and beyond to ensure Colt was comfortable and happy. She kept me updated as well which I always appreciate. Would for sure use again. Thanks Lindsay!”

“Ruth was so lovely. She welcomed my boy with open arms very last minute & took great care of him! I have an anxious pupper and she was able to keep him relaxed and comfortable. She played fetch with him and took him for walks which is greatly appreciated. We will see you again Ruth! Thank you very much for looking after my boy!”

“Friendly, attentive, considerate and that’s just how I feel everyday. Haha. Jk. These guys were fabulous. Very good with updates including pictures and videos. Will definitely book again if need be! I’m so happy that my dog Sage had playmates with their two dogs. Looks like it was lots of fun!”

“Maria provided such loving care to our puppy, Annie. Annie felt right at home and has a new bestie! Maria did a great job providing pictures and updates and as a result we had no worries on our mind about Annie. Definitely will use Maria again in future.”

“Kelsey was awesome! Her communication was quick and thorough before and throughout my dogs’s stay. She kept me updated with how things were going and my dogs seemed to love it at her place!”

“My dog Minnie always has a fantastic stay with Sonja. She has a great yard to run around in and her dog Annie gets along super well with my dog. Sonja has great communication and always sends a few pictures and updates.”

“Wendy took amazing care of our fur baby Vixen! She sent pictures daily and kept my active dog very busy with fetch, walks and the dog park. Vixen looked very happy in her pictures. This was my first time using Rover and although I was nervous, Wendy kept me at ease with her updates and pictures. It was great knowing Vixen was being so well taken care of while I was away- thank you Wendy!!”

“We’ve had the joy of entrusting Maya to this wonderful family several times now and each experience has been a true blessing. Their home is more than just a safe place—it’s a haven of kindness, patience and genuine care. Maya is treated like one of their own and we’ve seen her grow in confidence and comfort with each visit. They communicate with such grace and honesty, always keeping us informed and offering thoughtful insights that help us support Maya better. Even when she’s had little puppy mishaps, they’ve responded with compassion and understanding, never judgment. It’s rare to find caregivers who feel like extended family, but that’s exactly what they’ve become to us. We’re deeply grateful for their loving presence in Maya’s life and look forward to many more visits.”

Ruth was amazing with Gretchen! She was prompt with updates and very quick with responses. Being an anxious pet parent, leaving Gretchen isn’t easy but Ruth really put all my worries at ease and made it so much easier to leave her there! Plus she has an amazing home & yard that Gretchen loved. I would highly recommend Ruth for all your pet setting needs ☺️

Gus had the best time at Kaitlyn’s! It was very easy to communicate with Kaitlyn to set up drop off and pick up times. Gus was well taken care of during his stay and Kaitlyn kept me updated on how he was doing during his stay! Great experience overall and I felt very comfortable and confident that Gus was in great hands!

My dogs always have such a great time with Shoshana and her family. They’re always excited to go to her home, which says everything you need to know (as my dogs are very quick to show it when they don’t want to return somewhere). And the pics and videos Shoshana sends always show how happy they are.

Peanut had a great week with Jenna and Frankie. From drop off to pick up Peanut was well cared for. This was Peanuts second time with Jenna so we did a meet n greet because the time lapse was about 5 months. Jenna is always patient, positive and understands Peanut. Jenna sent daily pictures, updates and is awesome at communicating and helping with the booking process!

I was nervous for my puppy Sammy’s first stay with a pet sitter, but we had a great experience with Patrisha! She was very communicative and sent lots of updates and photos over the weekend. Sounds like she worked hard to get his energy out, which can be tough to do with an Aussie puppy!

Cassandra has been wonderful!!! Our dog has been well cared for and well loved during her stays with Cassandra. Cassandra is great to communicate with and attentive and insightful (for example, noticing our pup was licking her paws more one day). I couldn’t be happier!

Rachel took great care of my dogs, Paimon and Levi, and they had a calm and comfortable weekend with her. I was able to fully enjoy my trip knowing my babies were in good hands. Her dog, Sadi, was also wonderful and helped my dogs feel more at ease. Rachel kept me updated every day and sent me photos, which I really appreciated. She will definitely be my first choice for my next trip!
Morgan was amazing! My dog is quite anxious and quirky and she was welcoming, kind and unfazed. It took my dog a while but he got comfortable with her, which eased my worries. She communicated promptly and regularly. Also, her pets at home are very friendly and calm, just like her!

Mikela was responsive, communicated clearly and took very good care of my dog. She went out of her way to buy chicken-free treats to accommodate his allergy. She also clipped his nails (after checking with me) while he stayed with her. She sent updates and photos to reassure me that my dog was safe and happy throughout his stay. I would leave my dog with her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
