“Marco was great, he sent us updates daily and left the house as organized and clean as he found it. He kept up the training we were doing, when I came back our dog Easy still followed commands he was learning perfectly. He even made Easy a new toy.”

“Maria was wonderful, she was on time, attentive to our pups. She sent pictures to us as well and left the house just as clean as when she arrived. We would highly recommend her and we will definitely be using her again. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you so much,”

About: I have been around and cared for a wide variety of animals throughout my life growing up on a hobby farm, which included dogs, and cats. I understand that caring for animals is both a responsibility and a long-term commitment, and I take that responsibility seriously. I currently have two large dogs of my own and regularly foster dogs. Through fostering, I have gained experience working with a wide range of needs. When appropriate, I am able to accommodate dogs with different needs in my home by temporarily having my own dogs stay at our acreage, allowing me to provide a safe and comfortable environment for special needs foster or boarding dogs. A few years ago, I completed a 80-hour volunteer placement at a veterinary office in Prince Albert. At the time, I was hoping to pursue a career as a veterinary technician, although my career path eventually took me in a different direction. This experience provided me with valuable exposure to veterinary care and the professional handling of animals. In addition, I have experience with dog agility from my time training a service dog. Training a service animal taught me the importance of patience, consistency, positive reinforcement, communication, and building trust between an animal and its handler. I have also worked at a dog kennel for several years and have extensive experience providing dog walking and pet-sitting services for friends, family, and members of my community. These experiences have helped me develop a strong understanding of animal care, safety, handling, and the importance of adapting care to each individual animal's needs. I have previously been certified in Dog and Cat CPR and First Aid, and I plan to renew my certification again this year. I am committed to continuing to expand my knowledge and skills so that I can provide animals with safe, responsible, and compassionate care. Even with a full time work schedule you find a schedule that works best for you and the animal/s that you are caring for. It is your responsibility to give the best care you can to yours or any animal in your care. I have a LARGE double wide fenced lot. It is fenced down the middle as well if animals are needing to be separated. I have extra rooms and kennels if animals are needing to be separated, kennelled or quarantined. As well as the kitchen being gated off when nobody is home. All plants are animal safe, and the basement is closed off. I have a camera in my yard and front door. Alarms Co2 and fire in the whole house that is linked directly to the fire and police line. If needing to get to a clients home I make sure my day is planned around having time to get to those animals in a healthy amount of time.
“Laura was great with my pets! She communicated often and clearly gave them lots of her time and attention. I came home to content and happy cats. I got lots of cute photos too, an excellent bonus! I would absolutely recommend Laura and will be contacting her again in the future.”

“We feel very lucky to have found Jrosaleen. We love the attention she gives to Skye and Frankie and Skye have a blast playing together. She is so genuine with such a big heart. Exactly who we want to care for our pet when away.”

“Alexandra was amazing! She watched our dogs for 4 days. Kept in touch the whole time and sent lots of pictures. On the last day our dog had an emergency. She rushed him to the vet and took great care of him till I could get back. Highly recommend her and will be booking with her again.”

“Jessica was wonderful with my 2 dogs and cat. I’m always anxious when I have to leave my pets for an extended period of time but Jessica helped ease that anxiety. I came home to happy fur babies so I know they were well taken care of. Will definitely book her again. Thanks so much Jessica! :)”

“We were away for a week, and Ashlyn cared for our Frenchie and our home as if they were her own. I am so grateful for her care and attention to detail. Thank you so much, Ashlyn!”

“Izzy was happy to see us when we came home, but she was sad to see Maria leave. Three days later, Maria had to stop in to pick up a couple of things she left and Izzy was beside herself with joy to see Maria again.”

“Olha followed all the things that Gia likes. She took her for her walks and played ball. She left the house in perfect shape. I appreciated all her updates and pictures Would use her again.”

“We were so lucky to have Jadelyn and Alex stay with our senior dog! She requires a lot of companionship and it’s hard for one person to be there as much as we need. They are a two for one deal and it worked out perfectly for us! They are both caring and attentive people!”

“Jennifer did a great job at watching our cat! She had awesome communication and sent lots of pictures. My cat warmed up to her right away which is uncommon and she seemed very attentive to my cats needs.”

About: With 15 years in healthcare, I bring a level of responsibility, calm attentiveness, and a safety-first mindset to every pet. My personal experience includes a lifetime with pets, volunteering at the SPCA, and fostering cats and kittens. Whether your pup needs a fun midday walk, or your furry friend requires in-home sitting, I’m dedicated to keeping your pets happy and healthy while you're at work or traveling. Your furry family members receive dedicated, specialized care from someone who truly understands and loves animals. I'm currently working full time, but evenings after 4 pm, weekends and every second Friday I am available completely to take care of your furry family member. I can also work from home one day per week, which is usually a Monday or Thursday so I would be able to spend the day with your furry friends on those days too. I prioritize comfort for your fur babies in their own home by staying calm, being attentive and making sure your babies are happy and content.
“We were in a situation where we needed a dog sitter for our 9-week pup without time for a meet and greet. Kaitlin was great, she answered our request promptly and changed her plans to help us out. Mika loved her, so much so that she wanted to stay on her lap instead of going for her nap in her kennel. Kaitlin was very good with the potty trips and play time as Mika is a high energy pup and she was tired when we got home. We would definitely call Kaitlin again and highly recommend her for your pet!”

“Reece was very responsive and accommodating when we had to change the dates of our trip (twice!). She sent lots of photo updates and left our home clean. After meeting her I had no reservations with her and felt confident leaving our dog and cat in her care. She did great with our pets, definitely will be booking with her again! Good vibes with this girl :)”

“Ginny was perfect. We had a meet & greet & immediately felt comfortable leaving her with Charli. Charli seemed so happy. She took her on walks & spent time with her on the couch which is her favourite pastime. I would definitely recommend Ginny. Thank you.”

“Kaitlyn was an excellent sitter for our sensitive/timid dog! Kaitlyn (and her pup Kona) cared for our dog for 2 days while we were in town for a wedding. She was very responsive and flexible with timing for drop off and pick up. She sent a couple photos throughout to keep us updated! Would highly recommend Kaitlyn!”

“Desiree’s my go-to when I need someone to take care of my doggo! She’s reliable, trustworthy, easy to communicate with, and my golden retriever is always happy to see her.”

About: I’ve always enjoyed being around dogs and have experience caring for both small and large dogs, in Brazil and here in Canada. I’m comfortable with different personalities and energy levels, and I really enjoy getting to know each dog and their individual needs. I’m patient, responsible, and attentive, and I’ll treat your dog with the same care and attention I’d want for my own. I have a flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of time to care for pets and give them the attention they need. I enjoy getting outside for walks and spending time with dogs, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m happy to work around each pet’s usual schedule, whether that means morning walks, playtime during the day, or keeping them company while their owners are away. When caring for pets in their home, I always follow the owner’s instructions and try to keep their normal routine as much as possible. I’m respectful of the home and make sure everything is clean and secure before I leave. My priority is making the pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I’ll also keep the owner updated with messages and photos so they know how their pet is doing while they’re away.

Bella enjoyed her time with Marco, he took good care of her and sent pictures of her at the dog park. I will be rebooking Marco for other dates that I require someone to stay with Bella. All went well, Bella was in excellent spirits when I arrived home. I recommend Marco to care for your dog when you need to go somewhere.

Jessica was wonderful with my 2 dogs and cat. I’m always anxious when I have to leave my pets for an extended period of time but Jessica helped ease that anxiety. I came home to happy fur babies so I know they were well taken care of. Will definitely book her again. Thanks so much Jessica! :)

Samantha was amazing with our dog Bruce! Bruce is... a lot. He's got big feelings and really prefers to stay in his own home with his people around — even one night at his favourite daycare left him with lasting separation anxiety (he still waits at the gate every pickup time convinced we've abandoned him). So when Samantha came to meet him beforehand and still took the job, we were relieved but also a little nervous. We shouldn't have worried. We came home to a genuinely happy, relaxed dog — zero anxiety, excited to see us but not stressed out at all, which for Bruce is huge. The house was tidy, and Samantha kept us updated the whole time so we always knew how he was doing. She clearly gets anxious dogs and made Bruce feel safe in his own space instead of just "managed." We'll absolutely be booking her again.

Gracie was wonderful, I will be rebooking in the future! She was friendly, came to meet us ahead of our booking, and followed our “way of doing things” to support our dog’s safety and needs. My home and doggo were well cared for, lots of photo updates, everything went perfect!

Jade is incredible! It was such a huge relief knowing our pups were in great hands while we were away for our wedding. We loved to see all the photos she sent throughout the day and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were having the best time. When we got home, our house was spotless and our dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. We are so grateful for her and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. We will definitely be using her again in the future :)

Afton provided excellent care for our pets while we were away. While she was here, Afton provided additional pet care giving insulin shots to one cat, Stuey, and providing medicine to our other cat, Gracie. She provided us with updates and pictures while we were away. We plan to use Afton again in the future. Thank You
Before the initial in home care Jenna came to our home for a meet and greet! Jenna provided excellent in home care for our dog Peanut for 1 week. She was dependable, respectful of our home and attentive to Peanut’s needs. Communication was clear and timely with daily texts, pictures and videos all which gave us great peace of mind. Jenna brought her dog Frankie who was a great playmate for Peanut. I would confidently recommend Jenna to anyone looking for reliable pet care! I am thankful that Jenna accepted to care for Peanut.

Keela was great. She looked after our pug puppies (~1yr and ~11 weeks) and was absolutely wonderful. Consistent updates, house was so clean when she left and the pugs were exhausted. I really appreciate that she was able to care for my boys on short notice as well.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Saskatoon maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Saskatoon walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Saskatoon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
