“Izzy was happy to see us when we came home, but she was sad to see Maria leave. Three days later, Maria had to stop in to pick up a couple of things she left and Izzy was beside herself with joy to see Maria again.”

“Jessica went above and beyond to make Ben and Charles feel comfortable over the holidays. Even when Ben had an accident and needed a stop at the vet, Jessica went out of her way to make sure he was looked after and we were kept informed.”

“We were so lucky to have Jadelyn and Alex stay with our senior dog! She requires a lot of companionship and it’s hard for one person to be there as much as we need. They are a two for one deal and it worked out perfectly for us! They are both caring and attentive people!”

“Marco was great, he sent us updates daily and left the house as organized and clean as he found it. He kept up the training we were doing, when I came back our dog Easy still followed commands he was learning perfectly. He even made Easy a new toy.”

“Jenn (& hubby Pat) were the best pet sitters anyone could ask for! Everything from our meet & greet, to back & forth communication, to key arrangements, to ongoing pics & updates while I was away, to the above & beyond for the state of my home when I came back—all was exceptional. There is nothing like having peace of mind when entrusting one’s precious pet to high calibre trustworthy folks. I would highly recommend them & have already booked them for my next adventure.”

“Jrosaleen (Jenna) is a gentle soul who took excellent care of my Ellie. The details like making sure Ellie had an evening walk before my late arrival home and my bed made were very much appreciated and showed how much she cared. I have peace of mind going into my next booking with Jenna in July when I attend my daughters wedding in July🌸”

About: With 15 years in healthcare, I bring a level of responsibility, calm attentiveness, and a safety-first mindset to every pet. My personal experience includes a lifetime with pets, volunteering at the SPCA, and fostering cats and kittens. Whether your pup needs a fun midday walk, or your furry friend requires in-home sitting, I’m dedicated to keeping your pets happy and healthy while you're at work or traveling. Your furry family members receive dedicated, specialized care from someone who truly understands and loves animals. I'm currently working full time, but evenings after 4 pm, weekends and every second Friday I am available completely to take care of your furry family member. I can also work from home one day per week, which is usually a Monday or Thursday so I would be able to spend the day with your furry friends on those days too. I prioritize comfort for your fur babies in their own home by staying calm, being attentive and making sure your babies are happy and content.
“Gracie was wonderful, I will be rebooking in the future! She was friendly, came to meet us ahead of our booking, and followed our “way of doing things” to support our dog’s safety and needs. My home and doggo were well cared for, lots of photo updates, everything went perfect!”

“Ginny was amazing as a caregiver to our dog Jake and as a house sitter. We could not be happier with her attention to detail and genuine love for our older Black Lab. We highly recommend Ginny!”

“Right from the start of booking until we arrived home, Kaitlin put us at ease that our pet and house were in great hands. She was easy to stay in touch with and took great care of our house and pet’s needs. She was professional and caring. We had such a great experience with Kaitlin!”

“Cassidy was great. Everything was well taken care of and my cat Bella loved having her. So much that Bella was a little disappointed when she saw me come through the door and not Cassidy. LOL.”

“Kaitlyn looked after our two girls and was amazing. Great communication, giving us updated always. We’d recommend her in a heart beat and our girls are looking forward to seeing her next”
“Ashlynn was very responsive and I had full confidence that my cats were being well cared for. She sent frequent updates with lots of wonderful pictures for me to see while I was away. I returned to a very clean home and two happy boys ❤️❤️. I’m very grateful to have met Ashlynn through Rover and hope my boys will be able to spend time with her again in the future.”

“Amazing! We had a last minute booking with Olha and she was fantastic. We didn’t have time for a meet and greet but she messaged us that she was in the area just before we were leaving and popped in to meet the dogs. She gave constant updates and sent pictures and it appeared the dogs were having a great time. Highly recommend Olha and we will certainly be using her services in the future.”
“Alexandra took excellent care of my cats while I was away. My boy is on a few different medications on a stict time schedule but Alexandra made sure he got his meds and did so on time. I have 100% confidence leaving my cats in your care. Thank you!!!”

“Welleft our dog alone for a few days with Jade and couldn’t be happier with her services. Lots of photos, super clean house when we returned, she is the full package! We will be using her every time we go on vacation now!”

“Michaela was very communicative throughout her stay with our pets! She did a great job! Lots of play time and walks, and she had no issues with our high maintenance diabetic cat as well!”

“Maite did a wonderful job taking care of my little guy, Georgie loved her. Maite was always sending updates and pictures, and that was really appreciated, it kept my mind at ease that he was being well cared for. I came home to a tidy home and a happy pup ❤️ I would definitely recommend Maite to care for your furry family members. She has a fun yet peaceful presence that animals love. She is also friendly, reliable and trustworthy. Georgie and I hope to have her back soon!”

Jessica was wonderful with my 2 dogs and cat. I’m always anxious when I have to leave my pets for an extended period of time but Jessica helped ease that anxiety. I came home to happy fur babies so I know they were well taken care of. Will definitely book her again. Thanks so much Jessica! :)

Samantha was amazing with our dog Bruce! Bruce is... a lot. He's got big feelings and really prefers to stay in his own home with his people around — even one night at his favourite daycare left him with lasting separation anxiety (he still waits at the gate every pickup time convinced we've abandoned him). So when Samantha came to meet him beforehand and still took the job, we were relieved but also a little nervous. We shouldn't have worried. We came home to a genuinely happy, relaxed dog — zero anxiety, excited to see us but not stressed out at all, which for Bruce is huge. The house was tidy, and Samantha kept us updated the whole time so we always knew how he was doing. She clearly gets anxious dogs and made Bruce feel safe in his own space instead of just "managed." We'll absolutely be booking her again.

Gracie was wonderful, I will be rebooking in the future! She was friendly, came to meet us ahead of our booking, and followed our “way of doing things” to support our dog’s safety and needs. My home and doggo were well cared for, lots of photo updates, everything went perfect!

Jade is incredible! It was such a huge relief knowing our pups were in great hands while we were away for our wedding. We loved to see all the photos she sent throughout the day and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were having the best time. When we got home, our house was spotless and our dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. We are so grateful for her and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. We will definitely be using her again in the future :)

Afton provided excellent care for our pets while we were away. While she was here, Afton provided additional pet care giving insulin shots to one cat, Stuey, and providing medicine to our other cat, Gracie. She provided us with updates and pictures while we were away. We plan to use Afton again in the future. Thank You
Before the initial in home care Jenna came to our home for a meet and greet! Jenna provided excellent in home care for our dog Peanut for 1 week. She was dependable, respectful of our home and attentive to Peanut’s needs. Communication was clear and timely with daily texts, pictures and videos all which gave us great peace of mind. Jenna brought her dog Frankie who was a great playmate for Peanut. I would confidently recommend Jenna to anyone looking for reliable pet care! I am thankful that Jenna accepted to care for Peanut.

Keela was great. She looked after our pug puppies (~1yr and ~11 weeks) and was absolutely wonderful. Consistent updates, house was so clean when she left and the pugs were exhausted. I really appreciate that she was able to care for my boys on short notice as well.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Saskatoon on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Saskatoon maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Saskatoon walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Saskatoon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
