“Sam did a great job looking after my cat, Kitt. He seemed right at home with her in my house. She sent me pictures & videos while she stayed at my house, which brought me so much joy. She was very respectful, kind, and trustworthy. I would highly recommend her as a sitter and would use her again.”

“Jessica went above and beyond to make Ben and Charles feel comfortable over the holidays. Even when Ben had an accident and needed a stop at the vet, Jessica went out of her way to make sure he was looked after and we were kept informed.”

“Cassidy was great. Everything was well taken care of and my cat Bella loved having her. So much that Bella was a little disappointed when she saw me come through the door and not Cassidy. LOL.”

“We were away for a week, and Ashlyn cared for our Frenchie and our home as if they were her own. I am so grateful for her care and attention to detail. Thank you so much, Ashlyn!”

“My dogs were treated like royalty with Lucía. I was blown away with her attention to detail and level of care for my dogs, especially with their size and energy. I can't wait for the next time I'm in need of a dog sitter!”

About: I've had dogs my whole life. My parents bred German Shepherds and Yorkshire Terriers. I went on to own two spirited Basset Hounds (one of whom was deaf). I work from home in a non-customer-facing role full-time. I have space in my day for walks, attention, cuddles etc. You dog will get what they need according to their individual requirements, whether they need some extra loving and treats to feel at ease or some space to just chill. My yard is partially fenced so I go outside with every dog in my care. We walk in the yard for short breaks and go for at least 1 longer walk in the neighborhood every 10hrs or so. More if it's nice out. Inside I ensure we do activities to engage your dog's senses (such as lick mats, sniff games, or fetch). When required, I will give your dog a brushing or a wash if they are amenable to it.
“Des was absolutely wonderful to communicate with & to leave our dogs & house in the hands of. She was very knowledgeable in everything dogs & pets. Our two dogs are special as they do not get along & need to be separated at all times & she was more than willing to learn their routine & what they needed. We are so thankful for her as we had a last minute trip & she eagerly helped. We will definitely use her again! Thank you again Desiree!”

“She did a great job. Kept us posted and was obviously interested in and happy to be taking care of our pets. Our one dog is a real handful, he is big and young and can be dominant, she handled him like a pro. I felt really comfortable knowing she was there as she is capable and smart and has good judgement. Very trustworthy. Highly recommend. Oh also, she was flexible when a funeral caused us to have to ask her to come a day early for a 9 day stay. We really appreciated it. She left the house spotless.”

About: I grew up around big breed dogs my whole life. Pitbull’s, Rottweiler’s, German Shepards, Mastiffs of all sorts and even a few small breeds ! I currently work full time seasonal, and have full availability for house sitting along side my work hours. Able to do longer stays (4+ weeks included) I am currently working full time for the summer, hours 7am-4:04 pm with two 30 minute breaks where i am able to tend to pets per request if they need a midday meal or to be let out throughout the day I care for pets with patience, attention, and consistency to make sure they feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. In my home or a client’s home, I follow feeding schedules carefully, provide fresh water, give lots of love and attention, and make sure pets get proper exercise, bathroom breaks, and playtime. I also pay close attention to their behavior and wellbeing so I can notice if anything seems off. I understand that every pet has different needs and personalities, so I always adapt my care to what makes them happiest and most comfortable.
About: I have experience caring for a variety of animals, including, cats, and dogs which has taught me responsibility, patience, and the importance of consistent daily care. Their care includes feeding, cleaning enclosures, monitoring temperatures and lighting, handling them gently, and making sure they stay healthy and comfortable. I also regularly dogsat a golden retriever puppy from November 2024 to July 2025 alongside babysitting. My responsibilities included feeding, giving fresh water, supervising playtime, taking him outside, keeping him entertained, and making sure he felt safe, comfortable, and well cared for while his owners were away. Puppies require a lot of patience, attention, and energy, and I genuinely enjoyed spending time with him and helping maintain his routine. In early 2024, I also cared for a young cat over several months by stopping by daily while the owner was out of town. I fed her, refreshed her water, played with her, kept her company, and made sure she felt comfortable and loved. She was very playful and energetic, but also loved cuddling and attention. I believe my experience with different types of animals helps set me apart from other sitters. I’m patient, attentive, reliable, and genuinely enjoy getting to know each pet’s personality so they feel safe, happy, and cared for while their owners are away. 🐾 I currently do not work mornings often, and I only work afternoons into the evenings, so it makes my pet care schedule a lot more flexible. Since having no work mornings often, I have more availability for clients! I as well do not work in the summer due to working in an elementary school setting so my availability is very flexible during the summer! In my home, I care for my bearded dragon and leopard gecko with love. They are greatly spoiled, and loved so dearly. They are offered various of varieties of foods, and I speak to them in a sweet, calming tone. I plan on caring for pets in my clients home with respect, love and ensuring they are comfortable, safe and entertained.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Saskatoon
Jade is incredible! It was such a huge relief knowing our pups were in great hands while we were away for our wedding. We loved to see all the photos she sent throughout the day and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were having the best time. When we got home, our house was spotless and our dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. We are so grateful for her and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. We will definitely be using her again in the future :)

Sam did a great job looking after my cat, Kitt. He seemed right at home with her in my house. She sent me pictures & videos while she stayed at my house, which brought me so much joy. She was very respectful, kind, and trustworthy. I would highly recommend her as a sitter and would use her again.

Afton provided excellent care for our pets while we were away. While she was here, Afton provided additional pet care giving insulin shots to one cat, Stuey, and providing medicine to our other cat, Gracie. She provided us with updates and pictures while we were away. We plan to use Afton again in the future. Thank You
Before the initial in home care Jenna came to our home for a meet and greet! Jenna provided excellent in home care for our dog Peanut for 1 week. She was dependable, respectful of our home and attentive to Peanut’s needs. Communication was clear and timely with daily texts, pictures and videos all which gave us great peace of mind. Jenna brought her dog Frankie who was a great playmate for Peanut. I would confidently recommend Jenna to anyone looking for reliable pet care! I am thankful that Jenna accepted to care for Peanut.

Keela was great. She looked after our pug puppies (~1yr and ~11 weeks) and was absolutely wonderful. Consistent updates, house was so clean when she left and the pugs were exhausted. I really appreciate that she was able to care for my boys on short notice as well.

Zoey was amazing with Tobi. She helped with watching him during our rehearsal, wedding ceremony, and reception. Our day could not have gone as envisioned without Tobi there, and to have Tobi there we needed Zoey. She was always near by to ensure he was safe and put his leash on and take him out when he needed. This allowed my husband and I to not have responsibility of watching him. He was a hit at the wedding and thanks to Zoey being the biggest help! I would get Zoey to watch Tobi again if we have any Saskatoon stays! Thank you so much!

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Saskatoon maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Saskatoon walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Saskatoon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
