“Shoshana was an AMAZING dog sitter!! Sent photos and updates and I had no doubts my two fur babies were having a blast. It can be hard trusting rescue pups with anyone else but I did not hesitate for a minute that they weren’t in great hands. So happy to have found Shoshana and her sweet dog loving family!”

“Cassandra took excellent care of our girl. She gave us an update right away on how she settled in, and daily updates following. She took her for walks and I could tell she got lots of attention during her stay. Definitely recommend!”

“I always feel secure and safe leaving my little guys with Carla, they come back happy and healthy and I know she understands the importance of watching out for smaller sized dogs/escape artists.”

“Shreyas took well care of our pup ! we were nervous of leaving him for the first time but he sent many videos and we could tell our dog was happy and had a lot of furry friends to hang out. Will definitely have Shreyas look out for him again if we need :)”

“Dottie has a great time with Morgan. We got lots of updates and Dottie seemed happy and relaxed. We liked Morgan so much we decided to change our plans and use her for an upcoming trip as well.”

“We love having Jackie watch our pups. They are both getting old but are always well looked after even after 15 days! As long as she's got capacity we will be returning customers!”

“Fantastic experience for us and our dog! Our somewhat anxious little guy loved his time with Jenna, which was a huge relief. We got lots of pictures and updates which was great. Highly recommend!”

“I wanted to start this off by saying I’ve never used Rover before or had anyone watch my cat Brow, plus all of this was last minute so I was definitely nervous. Natasha made me feel so comfortable with my decision the moment I met her. She is very kind, has amazing communication and took incredible care of Brow. 10/10 will definitely have Brow stay again and anyone on the fence or looking for a sitter I couldn’t recommend Natasha more. To know I can go away and Brow is happy and safe is an amazing feeling. Thank you so much again!”

“Ruth was great with Easy, she has a lovely house with a closed yard where he got to play a lot. She still walked him and sent lots of pictures. We'll definitely consider booking her in the future.”

“Sheila and Trevor are so caring and patient with our little Rosie. We take such comfort leaving her in their care, knowing she will be loved and well taken care of in their home. We will see you again :) Thank you Trevor & Sheila!”

“Javiera and her family took such good care of my two dogs (puppy and elderly dog). I had no concerns at all leaving them with Javiera and I received regular pictures and updates. Javiera and her family treated my dogs like their own and I will definitely book them again!!”

About: With over 15 years of animal care experience, I’ve had the privilege of caring for pets of all shapes, sizes, ages, and personalities. Growing up surrounded by animals—both large and small—gave me a lifelong passion for their care and well-being. I spent 2 years working as a kennel attendant before moving into a veterinary clinic, where I worked for 6 years. During my time in the clinic, I gained hands-on experience with dogs and cats of all breeds, ages, and medical needs, including administering medications, caring for senior pets, assisting with recovery, and recognizing when something isn’t quite right. Now that I’m a stay-at-home mom, I truly miss my furry clients and the joy they brought to my days. I’d love the opportunity to care for your pet as if they were one of my own. Whether they need an energetic walking buddy, a calm companion, or lots of love and attention while you’re away, you can trust they’ll be in caring, experienced hands. Also actively passing down my love for animals to my children. I am a stay at home mom of 3 kids with plenty of free time - open & flexible schedule able to cater to specific needs 2 meals a day, experienced with medication - my beloved fur baby of 14 years passed in January 2026 from congestive heart failure so I know how important it is to maintain a schedule & make sure they get the things they need. I have a 1.5 year old neutered lab named Bodie - extremely friendly & loves everyone & everything

“Wendy took amazing care of our fur baby Vixen! She sent pictures daily and kept my active dog very busy with fetch, walks and the dog park. Vixen looked very happy in her pictures. This was my first time using Rover and although I was nervous, Wendy kept me at ease with her updates and pictures. It was great knowing Vixen was being so well taken care of while I was away- thank you Wendy!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
