“Sarah is amazing - I always get plenty of pictures and a detailed report of each visit. It’s so comforting to have a fellow bird parent petsitting my two cockatiels. Sarah has more birds than I do so I know she loves birds and is more knowledgeable about bird care than the average pet owner. Bird behaviour is a different ball game to dogs and cats. Sarah is so gentle with my birds, she never forces them, just cajoles and coerces them as you do with birds if you don’t want lose their trust, let alone gaining it. She’s definitely better than me in that regard, haha. This is my second time booking her and it’s been great every time.”

“Holly was great with our dog Coco while we were gone. She communicated clearly, asked good questions, and followed up well. We will book Holly again!”

“5 stars isn’t enough. Diane’s fantastic. She’s communicative, and even sends a photo of my cat eating his food. I wouldn’t have asked, but the peace of mind is sooo nice. Will have her over again.”

About: Animals have always been present in my life, I cannot remember a time without them! I'm originally from England and grew up with cats, dogs, rabbits and guineapigs. Dogs have always been my passion. I earned my certification in Professional Dog Training in 2013 after moving to Vancouver Island and have worked with and trained dogs ever since. I have experience in off leash pack hikes & private dog walks and have worked in a couple of busy doggy daycares which gave me a lot of experience and insight into canine communication, body language and group dynamics. As a dog trainer, I have worked with many different breeds, ages and struggles and as such, I'm comfortable and confident handling dogs of all shapes and sizes. I have three border collies who are all rescues from different backgrounds. They each have their own personalities and quirks and I love adventuring with them! I'm a big believer in tailoring our dog's exercise to meet their needs. If your dog loves to adventure in the forest, I'm up for it! If they prefer more sedate walks, sniffing and exploring their environment, I know some great sniff spots! If you have a puppy who is still learning about their world, we can have a great time exploring and socialising. I have my Canine First Aid certificate through DOGSAFE. I'm currently self employed as an artist so my time is flexible. I work from home and have time in my day to help other pet parents with their dogs needs and exercise. For all new clients, I arrange a meet and greet so we can get together to discuss your pets needs so we're on the same page. For drop in services, spending time with your pet in their home doing what they love is the ultimate goal! We can cuddle on the couch, play in the yard, play games, whatever your pet needs. For dog walks, knowing what your dog is used to wearing for their walks e.g. collar, harness, booties etc will ensure their safety and comfort. During the initial meet & greet we can discuss where your dog enjoys going on their walks and what type of walk they like the most so I can tailor the time to meet their needs. After the walk, I ensure they're settled back in the home, have fresh drinking water and have any snacks or enrichment activities set up before I leave. Your dogs happiness and comfort is my priority!

“Márcia was great with my cats! You can tell that she is a great cat person because they were so chill around her. Thanks for keeping everything tidy and caring for my kitties!”

About: Hi, I’m Caitlin! I’m an experienced and compassionate animal lover based in the Oaklands area.👋 I’ve grown up with both dogs and cats since I was a child and have always felt a deep, intuitive connection to animals. I also have experience around farm animals,(4H kid 🍀)so if your household includes a few chickens or a goat or two, I’m comfortable there too! In my time as a dog walker for the SPCA, I worked with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, including reactive dogs who needed extra patience and understanding. I’m also experienced with senior pets and end-of-life care, (especially cats) and I’m confident administering medications and even subcutaneous IV fluids when needed. Whether your pet is playful, shy, energetic, elderly, or somewhere in between, I take the time to meet them where they’re at and make them feel safe and cared for. If you’re looking for someone dependable, gentle, and truly in tune with animals, I’d love to meet you and your furry (or feathered) family. I am currently on medical leave which gives me the time and flexibility to dedicate myself to caring for your pets. Your pup/cat love going for a w-a-l-k, heck yea me too! I also am open for taking them on an adventure or a swim 🌲🌊 (distance and algae bloom permitting) Meet and greets are strongly prefered to ensure you, your pet and myself are cool and comfortable. 😎 When it comes to dog walking I have taken courses and training through the SPCA to specificly walk high energy and reactive pups.

“Rae was wonderful. She communicated well and totally put my mind at ease while I was away ? She spent quality time with Pada and followed up with a nice tidbit about their time together. I will definitely will be booking Rae again and have been telling others about Rae and Rover! thanks!a”

About: I (Finn, they/them) grew up with dogs (huskies and Jack Russsells) and hamsters, and I currently have a 3-year-old tabby cat. I've been taking care of family pets since my early teens, and have been pet-sitting more frequently in the past decade or so. I have experience across the spectrum of pet personalities, from anxious to aggressive behaviour, shy to bouncing off the walls. I have experience with both older dogs and puppies, and I am not afraid of dogs who need a little more space. I am currently in school full-time until the summer, so I would love to fill some of my nights and gaps in classes with sitting, walks, and visits! I want you to feel totally at ease with having your pet in my hands. I am a highly detail-oriented person by nature, and I will be sure to follow your instructions to a T. I want to develop a relationship with your pet and make sure they enjoy our time together! I will create a safe, comforting environment, and meet the specific needs of each pet.
“Tasia was fantastic! She sent me updates the whole time and everything went perfectly. Would highly recommend!”

About: I've been an animal care attendant at the BCSPCA for the past two years and before that, I was an animal care expert at Bosley's! I've completed all required course work for those positions and meet the SPCA and Pet Valu's knowledge and care standards. My schedule is a bit random, but I'm flexible and have no problem moving things around! I babysit occasionally and cover people at the SPCA when the need arises. If you have a backyard, it's preferably fenced and your dog has updated vaccinations and identification tags. Besides that, I'd appreciate a descriptive outline of the tasks expected of me and any behavioural quirks about your pets I should know about!

About: I volunteered with cats with the SPCA for a year, socializing and cuddling their cats ♡ I'm also a go to cat sitter for a friend of mine. In addition, I was the go to dog walker for my old job's shop dog whenever his mother wasn't able to take him. That's how I got started dog sitting for him. Since he was an elderly pit bull mix he needed a walker that knew when to head back home so his joints wouldn't bother him for the rest of the day. He also needed someone that could keep him and other dogs safe while out on a walk since he was a rescue from Mexico that could become reactionary to other dogs. He was an avid people lover though and being a pit bull mix, just needed someone that could reassure others that his barking was from excitement to meet new people. His size could be intimidating so he just needed an advocate for him to let other know that he was friendly and eager to greet them. I currently have a part time position that leaves me free in the mornings, evenings, and most weekends. I try to walk 7,000 steps in a day. So I'm free for lots of walks, play time, and snuggles. I can provide pet sitting in Langford as well, however due to the daily commute I will need to update the price by adding on an additional $10/day. I'm available for walks and since I love walking I'm more then happy to take an energetic dog out to help tire them out. I'm also available for multiple visits in a day as well as sleep over care with hourly hangout sessions for your fur baby. I'm accustomed to accommodating pets with special diet requirements. I'm also more then happy to provide updates and share any pictures I've taken of your fur baby ♡

“Tessa did a fantastic job with our dogs. She was punctual, responsible and very professional. She treated our dogs with care and I would definitely use her services again. Highly recommend.”

Rebecca S.
“We are so grateful for Rebecca! Here’s why…. Rebecca has been working with us for years - with two different dogs. With our first, a rambunctious Rhodesian Ridgeback who was leash reactive with a bark designed to intimidate wild lions, Rebecca always saw his goofy and fun loving side and helped him build his confidence and find his calm when meeting new people and dogs. You see, Rebecca doesn’t just “walk” your dog, she gets to know them, and matches their energy, and takes them on outings that exercise them both physically and mentally. When she’s done her walk, she sends you pictures of their adventures lift spirits and the guilt of having to leave your fur-baby home alone during the day. They’re having a great day! After our Rhodesian crossed the rainbow bridge, we decided to adopt a very sweet, albeit nervous and confused rescue dog. An hour after signing the papers, we reached out to Rebecca because we knew she’d have the skills to help us bring the best out of our new furry family member. Rebecca did one-on-one lessons with us that taught us how raise our dog’s confidence and help her connect with us. Rebecca regularly walks our rescue now, and having recognized that this is one extroverted dog, she often has her meet new dogs. We always notice that our dog’s recall and leash manners are incrementally better after Rebecca has had her for a few walks. Can’t say enough about how much we appreciate Rebecca and the impact she has on our furry kids.”
