“Otto stayed with Ella for a few days, she did a great job taking care of him, and Otto was lucky to have such a great carer. They spend time with another dog and a cat that reinforced Otto’s training and introductions. Very good communication and would definitely recommend Ella for future occasion if you want to have your dog in great hands .”

“We had Shanice walk our dog on several occasions and we needed a sitter for an overnight trip. We received updates and pictures of our dog while away and felt our dog was in great hands.”

“Sanjana was great with Beau! She was attentive to all the details that we shared about him and kept us updated throughout our trip regarding his day and eating habits. She was also very responsive and quick to schedule a meet and greet and confirm the booking, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Overall, would recommend her and would definitely come back to her whenever we need someone to take care of our dog when we’re away.”

“This was my first experience with the new puppy and using Rover, and I couldn't be more relieved and happy with the experience. Eliana was great: quick to respond, reassuring, and sent loads of pics and updates to this borderline helicopter pawrent. Highly recommend and hope to use again.”

“Avro came home very tired which indicates that she had lots of excercise and enrichment with Kelly. Meet & greet, booking, and drop-off/pick-up with Kelly were all super easy! We got some wonderful photos of their adventures during the stay. We would definitely leave Avro in Kelly's care again in the future!”

“Rosie looked after our Boston Terrier, Quincy, for the weekend. He was in such good hands with her and as I received photos and updates throughout the weekend from Rosie I started wondering if Quincy would even want to come back home with us because he was having such fun! I highly recommend leaving your dog with Rosie if she’s available. I so appreciate that she took the time to schedule a meet and greet before our weekend so we knew it would be a good fit. Thank you Rosie!”

“Lydia went above and beyond with communication and care. She asked questions to make sure that my dog was comfortable. I received updates, photos and videos. I highly recommend Lydia.”

“Jean is a fantastic dog sitter. Great communication throughout, and I love receiving the photo and video updates. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing my dog Rio was in such good hands. We’ll definitely continue using her services!”

“I had a great experience with Grace. She was incredibly flexible and easy to coordinate with, which made everything much less stressful. Her communication was proactive and thoughtful, and she kept me updated so I always knew how things were going. She was kind and attentive, and I felt very comfortable knowing my dog was in good hands. I’m truly grateful for her help and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.”

“This is clearly a “labour of love” for you and it shows. Fionn had such a great time. My energetic guy had a long, sound sleep last night which highlights how much fun he had with you all. Thank you for taking such fabulous care of him! It means so much to know he is in good hands.”

“Duane and Anne sent us photos and updates throughout our boy’s stay, and we feel so grateful to have entrusted them with his care during our wedding - especially since he’d just had his hip surgery and needed to be looked after differently from the other dogs during this booking. Both communicated promptly and attentively, and we’d love for Louie to enjoy another stay with them soon.”

“Hannah was amazing and I would recommend her without hesitation. She took care of my dog for eight days. Though he was nervous at drop off, it was clear from pictures Hannah sent only an hour or two later that he was settled in and getting lots of love! Hannah is very communicative, maintaining daily contact with photos and updates and has the best interests of your pet at heart. My dog didn’t want to come home at the end of his visit! Thanks for everything Hannah!”

I left Bear with Sasha and Patrick for a week and they were amazing with him! They sent pictures and updates of Bear, which eased my mind while I went on my trip. Bear had a great time with them, and was well taken care of. As I have a dog who tends to eat things he shouldn’t, Sasha and Patrick were attentive to this as well as Bear’s special diet instructions. I would definitely have them watch Bear again in a heartbeat !

Simon and Rachel were amazing hosts for our dog, Tokyo. Excellent coordination and communication of initial meet up and during the stay. We received updates and photos everyday, which made our family vacation feeling less concerned. We will definitely be booking them again, and I would highly recommend.

Merci encore Carolina.

Ava was absolutely wonderful with our dog, Comet. She was reliable, caring, and incredibly nice throughout the entire stay. Comet was very well taken care of and came back happy, full of energy, and in great spirits. We felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands and would gladly book with Ava again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
