About: I have worked in shelters so I have plenty of experience working with senior and disabled dogs. I'm very patient and enthusiastic. Dogs and I instantly click. I'm free at the moment so I have all day Monday to Thursday. I'm flexible so just tell me what you need and I'll take care of it. My apartment is too small to take care of other dogs at home and currently I only accept dog walking services. How does that sound?
“I don’t know what we would do without Jennifer, our cats are well taken care of and happy. She understands them and their craziness so well, she is our Pineapples and Waffles whisperer”

“Voilà déjà quelques visites effectuées par Jayme et notre chaton. Elle est très attentionnée, fiable, toujours de belle humeur, et elle aime jouer avec lui. Notre chaton l'aime beaucoup, et nous aussi! Merci Jayme, nous avons trouvé une belle personne de confiance pour notre félin.”

About: I walk mostly everyday, even through the Ottawa cold and honestly, I just miss having a dog by my side. I'm always looking to pet every dog I pass on my routes, which is what made me sign up for Rover. I grew up with a Pit Bull for 13 years, so I have the experience and strength needed to manage high energy dogs or heavy pullers safely on leash. Right now, I'm offering daily dog walking for all breeds and hosting small dogs in my home, only because my space is too small for big dogs. If you want someone who will love genuinely love spending time and playing with them as much as you do, I'm your person - rain, shine, or snow! I am currently working from 8 to 4pm from home so anytime before or after works for walks. On the weekends, I'm available at anytime. I have a one bedroom apartment with enough space in the main area for your dog to run around. I am also working from home full time so I can give it all the time and attention it needs!

Client’s home: I believe pets feel safest when their routines are respected. Before each stay in your home, I take the time to learn your dog's habits, favourite words, feeding schedule, medications, exercise routine, and any special needs. I'm comfortable administering oral medications (pills and oral syringes), checking for and safely removing ticks after walks, wiping muddy or snowy paws, towel-drying after rain or swimming, cleaning food and water bowls, and handling the occasional "oopsie" with patience and good humour. I pay close attention to changes in appetite, mobility, energy, or behaviour and will let you know promptly if anything seems unusual. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you can enjoy your trip knowing your companion is safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
“Rebeca has been great with spending time with my cat Buffy! Despite my cat being a bit timid and reclusive, Rebeca was very patient and made a lot of efforts to engage with her and win her trust, and was enthusiastic with sharing her experience with me.”

About: I’ve had pets my entire life, and they’ve always been part of my heart and home. Right now, I share my days with three amazing cats, but I’ve cared for both cats and dogs since I was 12. From tiny kittens and energetic puppies to gentle senior pets, each one has taught me something about patience, kindness, and unconditional love. I think what sets me apart is how deeply I connect with animals — I truly see them as family. I take the time to learn their personalities, what comforts them, and what makes them happy. Whether it’s a cuddle, a long walk, or just sitting quietly beside them, I’m happiest when animals feel safe and loved in my care. Caring for animals has always been a natural part of my day. With three cats at home, my mornings and evenings usually start and end with feeding, playtime, and lots of cuddles. I love making time for pets, whether that means going for walks, checking in during the day, or just giving them extra love and attention. Spending time with animals is one of my favorite parts of the day, and I always make sure they get the care, comfort, and company they deserve. My schedule is quite consistent in the sense that I work from home 2 days a week and have weekends off which allow me to care for your pets during holidays, special events and even on short notice. When I care for pets, my goal is to make them feel safe, loved, and comfortable, just like they would at home. I always take time to learn their routines, favorite toys, and little quirks so I can keep things familiar and stress-free. In my care, pets get plenty of attention, playtime, cuddles, and a calm space to relax. In a client’s home, I make sure to follow their usual feeding, walking, and care schedule, keeping everything tidy and consistent. Whether it’s brushing, giving treats, or just sitting quietly together, I treat every pet like they’re part of my own furry family.
“Lydia was absolutely amazing with Eli and Nyx. She was professional, reliable, and clearly cared for them as if they were her own. Communication was great throughout the visits, and she kept me updated which gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was away. It was clear my pets felt comfortable and well cared for in her hands. I truly appreciate the attention, patience, and care she gave them. I would definitely trust Lydia again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable and caring sitter.”

“Francielly was extremely responsive and helped me out in a time of need! She was very timely and professional and I felt comfortable knowing my cat was well taken care of 🐾 I would recommend her to anyone!!”

“We scheduled an additional meet and greet with a walk so that our dog could get more familiar with Nicole. Nicole sent a reminder and was on time. She asked questions to get to better understand our nervous dog and was gentle and patient with her.”

“Julie took great care of our cat while we were away for the holidays. Everything was done exactly as I asked, and our cat was very happy! We also came home to a clean apartment. I'll be booking with Julie again in the future. Thank you for taking such good care of our boy!”

“Tanya-Ann and Enrique were very flexible and attentive to my two cats, ensuring each got the right diet food. They also went out of their way to return my key. Definitely recommend their services!”

“Kate took excellent care of our cat, Ginny. It was our first time using a pet sitter and we would certainly consider using Kate again next time we go away. We received daily updates and pictures and our cat warmed up to Kate during the week.”

About: I've been an animal person my whole life. Growing up with cats, I learned their rhythms, quirks, and quiet ways of communicating, and I've carried that intuition into adulthood with my two adorable kitties. Four years ago, after decades of wanting a dog of my own, I rescued my husky/GSD mix, who has taught me even more about patience, trust-building, and the joy of seeing an animal truly thrive. I have experience from kitten/puppy-hood to older age, as well as experience with reactive dogs. Whether I'm house sitting, dropping in for a visit, or heading out for a walk, I move at the animals pace, letting them get comfortable and show me who they are. For dogs, I love creating enriching adventures tailored to their personality and breed: slow sniff-walks for curious explorers, structured and training-oriented outings for high-energy pups, and calm neighbourhood strolls for seniors. For cats, I love giving them the full-attention experience. Hands on play, grooming, and of course, all the cuddles. My goal is to make your pet feel secure, seen, and genuinely cares for while keeping your home exactly how you left it. I know the stress of leaving your fur-babies in another's hands, because I've been there myself. I want to care for your pet exactly how I would want my pets cared for. I currently work hybrid (only 1-2 days in office), with the rest of the time spent working remotely from desk, couch, or wherever your pet wants me to be. My fiancée and I live together, so he is able to care for our own pets when I take on house sitting arrangements. When I'm caring for pets in a client's home, my priority is creating a calm, predictable environment where your animals feel safe and your home is treated with the same respect I give my own. I follow your routines closely - feeding, walks, playtime, and household rules - so your pet's day feels similar and comforting.
About: I’ve always been a very kind, loving and nurturing person. I believe I can provide the utmost excellent care for your pups! Additionally, I value customer service and respect homeowners personal space/property. As a college student, working towards my certification as a Medical Radiation Technologist, I am available for part time hours a few days per week. I intend to care for your beloved dogs as if they were my own always with lots of TLC and love. Patience, gentleness, and a whole lot of those tail wagging scritches, and belly rubs!

Olivia was wonderful! She was reliable, professional, and took excellent care of our cats. She even handled giving one of them medication twice a day, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. We really appreciated how attentive and dependable she was, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Olivia again. Highly recommend!

Grace was super keen, kind, and friendly. The dogs had only met her once before she did a solo drop in to feed and walk the dogs while we were out of town for the day. We have a 14 yr old little guy that can’t walk far but she happily carried him in the carrier while walking our younger Wheaton. We are very happy w grace and will definitely be booking with her again! Thanks for treating our dogs as your own, Grace ❤️

Samantha did a really outstanding job taking excellent, daily care of my cat while I was away for almost three weeks. She is a fantastic cat-sitter and I couldn't recommend her enough to anyone who wants their cat to be cared for, played with and taken care of. I really appreciated that Samantha arranged for an initial 'meet and greet' with me and my cat before I departed and it really helped to put me at ease for the entire trip. She was very easy and professional to work with and very flexible arranging dates and times for the visits. Samantha really loves and cares about cats and judging by the many photos Samantha provided in her daily reports, my (usually curmudgeonly) cat really seemed to take a shine to Samantha, undoubtably due to the time and attention she provided my cat with every visit. She was always consistent and thorough with the report cards, and always communicated promptly with any additional questions or issues she encountered during my absence. I really felt that my cat was being cared for by a very safe pair of hands! I'm so relieved and glad that I found Samantha as a cat-sitter and she will absolutely be my go-to person for cat-sitting in the future!

Lorien is great with dogs and we had no worries leaving our young but high-energy pup with her! It was our first time using Rover and Lorien made the process seamless. It was easy to communicate with her and she took great care of our pup. I would highly recommend her and we will definitely use her services again in the future!

Makayla did such an amazing job with my cat! She asked all the right questions to ensure the best care for my pet, and was incredibly gentle and patient with my grumpy little cat. Extra points for the cat video updates, truly made my day to see my cat in such great hands :)

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in le Plateau choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
