“Julia was great with our two dogs! One loves to play while the other one is a bit nervous of larger dogs and she ensured that they both had a great time! Both dogs came back happy and healthy and we would definitely use Julia again.”

“She was so lovely and kind. The meet and greet was perfect and my dog almost fell asleep in her arms!! Easy to communicate with in french and english. Will be booking again!! Thanks Melanie and Noah!”

“My dog had a lot of fun with Danielle and her family. I got multiple texts and photos throughout her stay which made us feel at ease, as it was our first time boarding her. I highly recommend Danielle’s services!”

“We were so happy to find Vanessa. Immediately she gained our little guy’s trust. She took care of our Luigi as if he was one of their own. They walked, travelled with Luigi, even sent us pics. We brought him back home as if nothing happen. We couldn’t have done a better job. He was extremely joyful when we picked him up. No anxiety at all. Definitely recommend Vanessa. Thank you so so much. 5⭐️ Sitter Service”

“Penelope and Maxime took great care of Flicka during her stay. They were kind, reliable, and kept us well informed throughout the weekend, giving us complete peace of mind. Flicka came home happy and well cared for. We would definitely trust them with her again. Highly recommended! 😀 Penelope et Maxime se sont très bien occupés de Flicka pendant son séjour. Ils ont été attentionnés, fiables et nous ont bien tenus au courant tout au long de la fin de semaine, ce qui nous a vraiment rassurés. Flicka est revenue heureuse et en pleine forme. Nous n’hésiterons pas à leur confier Flicka de nouveau. Nous les recommandons sans hésitation 😀”

“Cathy took care of my dog, Luna, for several days, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Luna ended up having an upset stomach during her stay, and Cathy’s support was truly A+. She handled the situation calmly, responsibly, and with great care, keeping me updated so I never felt 100% worried. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after. I’m very grateful for her help and wouldn’t hesitate to trust her with Luna again. Highly recommended!”

“Judy is a wonderful dogsitter. Our pup was delighted to spend time with her. You know when there is a connection and genuine love for dogs - Judy is that person. So grateful that we can have a peace of mind when we have to leave our puppy for a few days with Judy.”

“Duane & Anna took wonderful care of our dog, provided daily updates, and the money raised from boarding goes to a great cause. Would highly recommend booking a stay with Duane & Anna.”

“Kevin was an exceptional host,, this was our first time using a home doggy daycare and Kevin put our mind at ease. His home is perfectly set up and Wiskey had a great time. We have no qualms recommending Kevin.”

“Kelly and her son were great with my dog. They sent me pictures and updates to let me know how he was doing. This was my first time using Rover and Kelly was the perfect fit for me. I felt confident with her right away. Thank you!”

“My dog Freddy had a great time with Erin and her dogs. The videos and photos Erin sent me made me happy to see him having fun while away from home. I recommend her as a sitter for anyone with a dog that loves other dogs ❤️”

“Mellissa allowed my 3yr old Lab/Boxer to stay with her and accommodated my short notice request as I searched for a sitter last minute to have her looked after over the weekend… Her home was very lovely and I felt reassured my pup would be in good hands. As I was away I received many photos and updates and it was evident my dog received tender love and care. Mellissa even taught me a few training tricks I could use with my dog as they had practiced a bit together while I was away :) Thank-you Mellissa. I highly recommend her services!”

About: Hi my name is Debbie. I retired from the insurance industry in 2021. Around that time I took a course for dog training, as well as Dogsafe first aid. I have had dogs and/or cats almost my whole life. I currently have a senior newfoundland-golden retriever mix named Dino and a cat named Baba G. I am retired so I am available at any time of day, seven days a week for your pet's needs. I can also accommodate weekends and holidays. I will visit your pet in your own home. Care will depend on individual needs but typically i will fill water and food bowls and clean litter.
“Fred was so warm and kind with our Lola. He was happy to have a meet and greet. He is very responsive in his communication. We felt Lola was definitely in good loving hands the entire time we were away. And she got introduced to jogging an activity she will only ever enjoy with Fred lol. Thank you so much Fred for taking such good care of our girl.”

“We had such a great experience using Shannon's pet sitting services! This was our first time using Rover — and our dog’s first time ever staying with a sitter — so we were a little nervous about how it would go, especially since our Jack Russell is high-energy and a bit mischievous. Shannon was incredibly kind, patient, and easy to communicate with, and she sent tons of adorable updates that really put us at ease. It was clear our pup felt comfortable and happy in her home. The meet and greet was wonderful as well — she and her husband are so down-to-earth, friendly, and genuinely dog-loving. We’re really grateful for the care they provided and absolutely hope to have her watch our dog again in the future. Highly recommend! 🐾 🐶 🌟”

“Clayton was a wonderful host for our elderly dog Biscuit. He is very attentive to her needs and is very caring. We highly recommend and hope to use his services again.”

We had such a wonderful experience! Stephanie was incredibly understanding of our dog’s nervous nature and took the time to make him feel comfortable and safe. It was clear he was well cared for and truly felt at home. We felt completely at ease leaving him in her care, which means everything to us. We’re so grateful for the love and attention she gave him and will absolutely be using her services again. Highly recommend!

Wow… we finally found the perfect sitter for our beautiful girl Lola. Thank you Mélina for your great service and attention to detail. I know there’s something good when Lola turns around when leaving to say goodbye. All the best and see you soon again shortly.

It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
