We were a bit hesitant at first to have someone stay in our home with our brand-new puppy, but Jeremy and his wife quickly put us at ease. They sent us endless photos and updates throughout the day, kept us completely in the loop, and treated our little guy with so much love and care. They even cleaned up after his puppy accidents and left our home spotless when they left. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience, highly recommend Jeremy to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring sitters!

About: Hello, I’m Ren! I’ve had a soft spot for animals since I was little, and I absolutely love taking care of them! I have personally owned 4 large breed dogs, 3 small breed dogs, and 6 cats (at once!). I’ve had experience with senior animals, puppies/kittens, diabetic animals, and animals with epilepsy. I am fully comfortable administering injectable and oral medications! I believe animals are one of life’s greatest treasures, and I’m delighted to meet new furry friends! For over-night house sitting more than 2 days I need; -a bed/couch to sleep on -access to a shower (I will bring my own hygiene supplies) -I can supply my own food 🍜but I will need access to a kettle & microwave. All dishes used will be washed afterwards😸 I’m currently out of school and have a lot of free time on my hands! What better way to fill the week then spending time with dogs & cats😸 I treat animals with respect, love, and proper care. Any pet I watch will be treated with lots of affection and enthusiasm! I enjoy going for walks greatly and find it more enjoyable when I have a pal to go with.

Christopher was absolutely amazing! We had Chris house sit for two weeks and he made sure not only visit multiple times a day for bathroom breaks and feeding but also stayed for extended periods at a time to ensure my dog wasn’t lonely and bored. Chris also ensured to leave the house in the exact same state that I had left it in which is great appreciated. He also provided updates throughout the time as well and I felt like I always knew exactly what was going on back home. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a sitter while they are away!

About: I've been caring for dogs and cats since I was a child, and animals have always been a big part of my life. Over the years, I’ve gained hands-on experience with feeding, grooming, walking, bathing, and both potty and crate training. I’ve also helped with basic obedience training and understand the patience and consistency pets need to feel safe and happy. Friends, family, and neighbors regularly trust me with their pets, knowing I treat every animal as my own. I’m dependable, gentle, and genuinely love spending time with animals. I currently work remote, so have a lot of flexibility to board at my home and attend to your pets needs throughout their stay or visit your home and take care of walks, potty breaks, play time, and grooming. I have a fully fenced yard in my townhouse so dogs can enjoy safe, supervised time outside. Inside, pets are welcome to enjoy furniture, yes, that includes the couch. I keep my space clean and pet-friendly and free of hazards. When I care for pets in a clients home, I do my best to maintain their usual routines and respect their habits and space. I'm mindful and tidy and make sure pets have access to fresh water and clean litter boxes, and lots of attention. My focus is to keep them happy, safe, and comfortable.

I highly recommend Lyra for dog sitting, walks and training. Communication was great, we got pictures everyday along with an update. Our dog absolutely loved her and I felt peace of mind knowing she was so well taken care of. Lyra helped reinforce good behaviour on walks and in the house and we came home to a very happy dog and a clean house. We would definitely book Lyra again in the future!

Sara is fantastic. Our dog has some anxiety around strangers and Sara worked with us slowly to get our pup more comfortable over walks and an overnight visit before our weeklong holiday. She was great with our dog and did everything to make her comfortable. When we were on our holiday, our flight got delayed and we needed to get Sara to stay an extra day. She responded right away and made sure that everything was updated in the app and our pets were properly taken care of. We will be using Sara as much as we can in the future.

About: I have had animals in my life for as long as I can remember. So you could say that pet care has come second nature to me. From feeding to medication I am your girl! Full disclosure, I do have two part time jobs and am hoping to work this into my free time! If you are looking for someone who is available 24/7 I may not be the best fit. Though I am willing to accommodate! I am very attentive, willing to cater to any needs you and your pet may have! I am open to staying over night as needed.

Deliah was amazing. She was able to overcome the personality/attitude of our one kitty. Our kitties are both on medications and can be a lot to manage, Deliah did great. . She communicated very well with us and our neighbour that had to fill in the medication gabs when Deliah was at work. It was great coming home to a clean house, it was like she was never here. Deliah did a fantastic job. We definitely will be reaching out to her again when we need a house/kitty sitter. Highly recommend her, your house and fur babies will be in great hands.

Danica's 2-week stay with our border terrier gave us peace of mind during our trip. She was quick to pick up on all the details we provided and even thought to check on a few we missed. Whenever we were looking for an update, she sent a clear and concise message. We returned to a tidy dust-free home with squeaky clean floors and nicely shoveled walks. Thanks, Danica, for such good care of Bobbin and our home!

FAQs for House Sitting - Gibbons

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Gibbons on Rover is $42.8 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 603 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Gibbons. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gibbons maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gibbons walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gibbons choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
