About: I am a new stay at home mom that is used to caring for my children with paws and still learning the tricks to the one with toes. While I love all animals, the big slobbery ones have my heart wrapped around their drool and my big senior (7 yr Great Dane/Mastiff) guy knows it. Our little girl is actually a 120 lb mastiff/pitty cross that just turned 4 and they both love their littlest brothers (an April Fools baby and a 3 lb kitten, both of whom run the house). Killer the cat is actually a big ball of scaredy cat and Mr Fishy the Beta finishes off the attendance list. I would love to meet and care for your family members with fur as well! I am currently on maternity leave and am looking to get out of the house and get some exercise. I am confident in walking large dogs but will have my baby and stroller with me so I ask for pups that won’t pull too much. Since I have a small baby and 4 animals of my own I am not able to stay overnight but can check in any day or time. Having two extra large dogs of my own, I am confident in walking your pup and am familiar in crate training as well. I believe in force free training and can follow your lead to reinforce training and obedience into our walks and visits as well. I strongly follow the idea that trust is the best form of leadership with animals and people.

Janessa was very accommodating for anything I needed with my dog Blais. She walked her two times a day and even helped with her treatments for her osteoarthritis. Janessa came over for a meet and greet first and Blais instantly adored her! I will definitely hire Janessa for her services again in the future!

About: I’m a reliable and compassionate pet caregiver with years of hands-on experience caring for my own animals, along with professional experience working in an animal hospital. This has given me a strong understanding of animal behavior, health, and safety, as well as the ability to stay calm and attentive in any situation. I treat every pet as if they were my own—making sure they feel comfortable, loved, and well cared for while you’re away I’m currently working part time serving so my schedule is pretty flexible just waiting to go to school in the fall. I’m always able to work around schedules and what works best for the owner. I’m very attentive when it comes to all types of animals. We have a fenced in yard but live on acreage so my pets have a lot of area to run and play but also no chance of them getting lost because they also are trained. I make sure there are no dangerous areas around my home from sharp corners to things on the ground. My dogs constantly have water but are on a strict eating schedule. My cats are fed at all times and also have water at all times. My dogs and cats usually have a goo rotation when it comes to toys I get them ones that won’t harm them if they rip them apart, but if they do I will buy them a new one. I’d say there pretty spoiled animals but when you love them doesn’t seem like work at all.

About: I've been fortunate enough to care for many different animals since I was 12 years old. I've been blessed enough to experience growing up with cats, dogs, peacocks, rabbits, chickens, buggie and many more beautiful and equally unique animals. I'm addition, neighbours, friends and family have relied on me many times to pet sit, walk, feed, and bathe their pets. I'm currently homeschooling my grade 2 kid which usually only takes up 20 to 30 minutes of our day so I have plenty of time to play with and care for your furry or feathered babies. I have fenced yard and a very friendly cat and dog to keep your fur or feathered babies company. Both are very accustomed to growing up around different species of animals we've sat or fostered. My cat has a very large catio he loves to sit in during the day and usually perches himself on his cat castle by the window inside the house for naps or people watching (his favorite thing to do). He loves other animals and is very affectionate and protective towards them, he's a very docile breed and way too friendly for his own good. I do have a crate for dog and spare rooms for cats if a slower introduction is needed. My home is pretty pet friendly and clean and everybody in here will never be short of love, food and affection.

About: I’ve had my best friend, Ash, since I was 10. Almost 12, he’s as lively as ever! I had also adopted Dart last year, a 10 year old pointer with anxiety - I have had the privilege of watching him grow and bloom into his instincts and training! I’ve also worked professionally with dogs for over two years and specifically would be tasked to handle dogs with special needs, whether that be behavioural or medical. I can connect with dogs and read them incredibly easy. I’m very patient as well and have no fear when dealing with less trusting or “feistier” dogs. I also understand how busy life can get, especially when unexpected hurdles come your way. I am especially offering services for pet parents who are looking for super last minute help. I’m more than happy to share a more specific version of my availability if you think you’ll need last minute care in the near future. I also especially love senior dogs and can manage their specific health and behavioural needs with ease. :) Hi! I’m a student with two pups of my own. I would love to help others struggling with busy schedules give their pups the best life they deserve! I have pretty open availability, and really only have my own pup’s schedule to work around (which isn’t too hard). Come September, I’ll have a lot of daytime free time and may be able to adjust my schedule for last minute bookings or work out a weekly routine that works for the both of us. I’d be great for last-minute bookings, most especially for dog walking and drop-ins. I am also more than happy to negotiate pricing and cater it to your pups needs! :) ** I will accept short-term boarding under certain circumstances (typically if you’re experiencing an emergencies and need short term pet care ASAP). This is not preferred for me, hence the pricing. I’m very respectful of others spaces and will be able to recognize and learn the routines of your pup pretty quick! Special instructions are no stranger to me, so ask away!! I want to replicate their regular routine as much as possible to cause the least amount of stress :)

Alana was able to come on a last minute request which was amazing, and even without having a meet and greet she was able to convince my nervous dog to go for a walk. She spent time earning my dogs trust who is apprehensive of new people. Alana also has experience walking reactive dogs which was a huge plus for me as my dog is reactive on leash. I cannot recommend Alana enough!

About: HI HI. 🫀 My name is Kalyna. My pronouns are THEY*/she BUT "she" BELONGS TO ME. USE "THEY" ONLY. I am 26 years old and am continuing on my side hustle of animal care. I am a Woman, Radical Feminist, artist, dancer, bodybuilder, and everything else too. I have been looking after animals for 8 years. I have A TON of extensive experience with older, physically limited dogs as well as young, springy pups. I. LOVE. BULLY. BREEDS. I cannot be intimidated by a Rottie or a Pitbull. I have much personal experience with cats, and I am well rounded with a lot of different personalities in animals. I have dealt with insane wild left turns and circumstances while I am sitting, so I am confident in my ability to deal with crises should they happen. I care about providing meaningful care for your animals. My principles as a WOMAN are steadfast, and that carries into my work. I value integrity, clarity, and authenticity. I am secretly a goof underneath my businesswoman exterior, and that is why animals LOVE me. I have a HEART for animals, through and through. People are hit and miss but as long as I know I have loved an animal-- that is all there is to it. OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS ABOUT MY WORK: 1. ***Cancellation policy***: If the client cancels w/ 2 weeks notice before set start date: I am paid 1/2 of the entire job’s monetary amount. If the client cancels w/ 1 weeks notice before set start date: I am paid entire job’s monetary amount. If the client cancels 1 day - 6 days before set start date: I am paid entire job’s monetary amount. 2. I am paid in cash. 3. My business practices have changed regarding WHEN I am paid after many nightmarish, integrity-less people not paying me after I finish a job. This policy means I am paid half before and half after. This gives me peace of mind that I am working with someone who values me, can be trusted, and who trusts me. 4. I am available for short-term sitting and long-term sitting i.e. months-long stays. 5. Note that my schedule fills quickly, so dates are reserved on a first-come, first-paid basis. Once the booking is confirmed through the app, I will block off the length of the stay for you in my own schedule. 6. You have 24 hours to confirm or deny after the initial meet and greet. Otherwise, your spot is forfeited and I will book other clients. I look forward to meeting you and your tiny animal children. xx, KALYNA. My schedule is wide open as of August 2026. I am available for short-term AND long-term stays. I am always willing to sort something out for the right people. I always come to the owner’s home. Animals do better in their own environments and that has been proven to me time and time again throughout my years of sitting.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gibbons choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 100% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
