About: I’m known as the go to dog sitter among my friends and coworkers! I love having another personality around the house and my two dogs love it too! My dogs are westie and a blue heeler, so I have some experience with working and high energy breeds! We have tons of walking paths around, river access and a dog park nearby. I’m confident with crates/kennels and giving meds. I have quite a bit of free time and when I do work, I can stop at home for an extra potty break mid shift to make sure all is well My own dogs are crate trained and I prioritize some on and off leash time daily. My boys love frisbee and fetch in the fully fenced back yard and we make time for a few dogsports too! Both are super social with other dogs, we have many adventures camping and meeting with friends.
“My dogs spent the day with Ronilyn as a trial for boarding. My little dog can be quite nervous but within a few minutes she warmed right up! I now feel at ease going away knowing they will both be in great hands! Loved that she sent pictures of them throughout the day. I would definitely recommend Ronilyn.”

“Michael & Charlene were great with our dogs for day care. Coming from out of the country, you never know what to expect from strangers, even through Rover. After our meet & greet, we were totally comfortable leaving our kids there. We didn't ask for walks specifically, but our dogs got walks every day, and got to enjoy their beautiful fenced back yard with lush grass and a water feature. On our first morning dropoff, Michael greeted us with a special human treat: delicious homemade muffins! We had to stay out later than we said we would one night, but Michael handled it in stride. Communication was great every step of the way! Looking forward to our next visit to Canada and bringing our dogs to Michael & Charlene's place again!”

“My boy Leif had a great time with Jodeen. He can be sensitive, but Jodeen's kindness and genuine love of dogs put him at ease almost instantly. We will definitely be going back for more dog sitting in the future. So glad to have met you Jodeen!”

“Thank you Robyn and family. ( Robyn fit us in last minute ). Huxley had a wonderful time staying with you for the day. He came home happy, tired and very relaxed. Always great signs. 😊”

“We knew the second we walked in, Lynette was our person. Her home was spotless, Jazzy ran in like she owned the place, and Lynette beamed with love and affection for our girl immediately. Jazzy jumped into her arms and gave kisses like she's known her forever. If you're looking for someone that truly loves your dog like her own, keeps them safe, and creates an atmosphere we all want to be a part of.....then Lynette is your person too! Thank you for loving Jazzy ♥️”

About: What sets me apart is that I truly treat every dog in my care like they’re part of my family — not just a guest. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone new, so my goal is to make both you and your pup feel completely comfortable. While I may be newer to professional dog sitting, dogs are already a huge part of my everyday life. I share my home with my own sweet pup LunaRu, a collie/malamute mix, and our days usually include 1–2 long walks, plenty of playtime, and opportunities to get outside (including trips to the dog park when it’s a good fit). I understand how important routine is for dogs, so I’m happy to follow your pup’s usual schedule, feeding instructions, training cues, and preferences to help them feel safe and settled. Whether your dog is energetic and looking for adventure or just wants companionship and a cozy place to relax, I’ll adjust to their personality and needs. I also love sending updates and photos so you can enjoy your time away knowing your furry family member is getting plenty of attention, exercise, and love. 🐾 I am currently working part-time from home for myself so I completely make my own schedule! Pet care is already a big part of my everyday routine! My dog LunaRu and I love getting outside, and our typical day includes 1–2 long walks, playtime, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I really enjoy having a dog as part of my daily life, so adding another furry friend to join our routine feels like a natural fit. I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to spend lots of time with the dogs in my care and make sure they get the exercise, companionship, and attention they need. Whether that means an adventure outside, a trip to the dog park (if appropriate), playtime at home, or some cozy downtime, I’m happy to adjust to each dog’s personality and routine. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I want every pup in my care to feel like they’re getting a fun little vacation while still having the structure and security they’re used to at home. I have a fully fenced yard where dogs can safely enjoy fresh air, playtime, and supervised outdoor time. I also share my home with my friendly dog LunaRu, so visiting pups have the opportunity to have a buddy to play with (after proper introductions and making sure everyone is comfortable). I know every dog has different needs and routines, so I’m happy to follow your instructions for feeding, walks, training cues, sleeping arrangements, and any house rules you’d like maintained. I also have extra crates available for dogs who are crate trained or feel safest having their own cozy space. My goal is to create a calm, safe, and loving environment where your dog feels at home — with plenty of exercise, attention, snuggles, and updates along the way. 🐾
“Vanessa and her husband took amazing care of Nova, from meet and greet to the actual stay, they made sure she felt comfortable and at home. I will definitely have them look after Nova in the future!”

“Thank you so much for looking after our little pup. She was very happy to be in your home. We appreciated the updates, and the photos. Your communication was top-notch. Loki was sound asleep when we picked her up so obviously she was comfortable in your home. Thank you again.”

“Rufana was amazing with Dante! It was our first time with her and I really appreciate all her patience with our dog and us, she was available right away that day and saved our trip to Sylvan Lake. Thanks Rufana!”

“Anna made the experience effortless and my dog Coda was spoiled with her. She did more than what I could’ve asked for, such as walks, snacks and a lot of play time and naps ☺️”

About: I have always loved dogs. As an adult I've had two Labradors that I raised on my own since they were 8 weeks old. They have since passed, and both lived until 11-13 yrs old. I loved spending as much of my time with them. I try to spend as much time outside, going for walks or drives and checking out the sights and smells, throwing a ball around, etc. One of my dogs had to have knee surgery (TPLO) on both knees, so I do have lots of experience with nursing a dog's health and their rehab. I work from home 5 days/wk with a job that's flexible enough to be able to take breaks from my desk and let the dogs out regularly, and go for lunch-time walks (weather permitting!) Your dog can have free roam of the house and yard with regular check-ins. Even though I work from home, it would be ideal to have more than a couple of days notice prior to your desired booking dates. I like to arrange 'Meet & Greets' with the dogs and their parents to ensure that it is a "good fit" before accepting a booking. Please and thanks! I have a large, fenced backyard. Plenty of room for your pup to stretch, sniff around, play some fetch and blow off some energy. Various walking routes nearby, as well.
“Jessica was very accommodating with an early drop-off for my workday and a later pick-up. She sent lots of photos and videos throughout Nova’s stay, and it was clear from everything she shared that Nova was happy and comfortable with her. She can sometimes be picky about eating her food, but she ate both of her meals while in Jessica’s care. Overall, I was very happy with the care Nova received from Jessica!”

About: I’ve always been an animal lover. There are few times in my life where I’ve not been caring for animals. I find myself more comfortable with animals than people. I’m comfortable with all ages and sizes. I work from home so I’m always available to take care of your fur baby. I’m comfortable bathing, trimming nails and administering medication to your pet. We moved to the St. Albert area September 2025. After staying with family these last few months, we have finally found our own home. We are now settled in Erin Ridge North. Looking forward to a meet and greet! I work from home so I’m always available for your fur baby. Meet and greets are required prior to acceptance to ensure compatibility with my dog. I understand that having someone else care for your fur baby is stressful for both the pet and the pet parent. I do everything in my power to maintain a safe environment for all animals in my care.
“Andrea made everything easy from start to finish. Communication was quick, clear, and effortless, which gave me confidence throughout the process. She was professional, reliable, and I never had any concerns about leaving my dog in her care. It was clear that she genuinely cares about the dogs she looks after. I would not hesitate to book with her again.”

“The last 2 days Joanne has kept me updated on him and he has never been happier when I come get him he always is having a blast and is getting lots of outside time ! I absolutely recommend”

About: I have owned dogs and cats for the last twenty 23 years! I would love to help others know thier pet is taken care of and loved! I have cared for puppies all the way up to age 19. I work from home 4 days per week so I will always be home with your pet. We will go for walks 2-3 times per day. We also have a fenced dog run on the property so they can do thier business and run around safely. Since I will be home with your dog all day, they will get 2-3 walks per day as well as an occasional car ride (unless you prefer they are crated and stay home while I run out if needed)
“Only got to meet and greet with carter because for reasons that can’t be controlled I had to cancel however carter was super nice and his two dogs were so well behaved and nice with my dog I would recommend carter if your looking for someone that will take good care of your pooch and have fun all day !!!! I will book with carter in the future”

“Ana is a complete lifesaver. We had major renovations start in our home earlier than expected and my dog is 14 years old this month. No way I could leave hom at home with strangers making sounds at all hours of the day! She was able to take him in last minute, and provided many updates, photos, and videos throughout the day. Honestly, he is so excited to go he screams when he knows we are almost there. She takes better care of him that I probably do. I highly recommend Ana. She is really nice, takes great care of animals, and clearly loves them. Even my old mop of a boy.”

“Christine was great, I had my puppy Tofu in doggy daycare with her for a few days & she provided updates throughout the day & my pupper never wanted to leave her puppy Winnie at the end of the day! I would highly recommend!!”

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Gibbons commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
