“We booked Sarah only a week out from our trip (due to another sitter cancelling) and she was great with coming for a meet and greet within a couple of days. Our 2 dogs took to her immediately and her communication was really good. She provided regular updates and stuck to the dogs’ routine which we very much appreciated. We will definitely book Sarah again for any future sittings, highly recommend.”

About: Your dogs will love the time to play outdoors. They will be treated like any dog would ever be treated with love and care. I love dogs and have spent many years with them and caring for them! I have spent time with many dogs doing training sessions with obedience, can always add some extra learning for them while they are with me for a walk or even staying the night with me. Will have multiple toys for your dog to keep them busy. I’m currently not working and have plenty of time to spend with your furry friends! To make them happy and not worry about you not being at home or around I treat every dog like it’s one of my own. If they need any help or extra love abs attention they will get it from me.
“Can’t say enough on how great it was to have Danielle step up and take care of our Maddie on short notice. We will definitely look to book Danielle again She took great care of 8 yr old “pup” and treated her so good and followed the post op instructions we provided thanks again Danielle!”

“Janessa did a great job caring for my 3 cats and 1 dog while apartment sitting as well. She was reliable, respectful of my home, and my pets were happy and well cared for when I returned. I really appreciated the peace of mind while I was away and photo updates. I would definitely book her again!”

“We went with Lyra again for an extended weekend trip and honestly we couldn’t be happier. She communicates consistently and loves our dogs. Our home is always left in tip top condition and our girls are tired. She especially takes a lot of time and has so much patience for our dog with medical issues and leash reactivity. I will forever sing her praises from the rooftops. We adore you Lyra!!”

“When we decided to go away for a few nights we knew we couldn’t leave our beloved kitten with just anyone. At first we were very apprehensive leaving our house and kitten in the care of a stranger felt strange, but as soon as we met Samana we felt we could trust her. She was very approachable and down to earth, eager to help and listen to instructions, she hit it off with our kitten immediately and we had no qualms about leaving hi. In her care. She did an amazing job of looking after his needs and providing him with playtime and affection when he wanted it, she followed all instructions provided and sent many photos and videos so we felt like we were part of his day to day life. We highly recommend Samana if you’re looking for a trustworthy sitter for your pet and home.”

“Zoe took great care of our Jasper and our home. She graciously got his pills into him even when he was a grump and she sent lots of updates and pictures to keep us in the loop while we were away.”

“This was a last minute booking and we very much appreciate Tina’s/Jeremy’s flexibility. Tina loves our Willow and Willow feels great after seeing her. We will continue to use Tina in the future!”

“Derlene is amazing. We had her for a home sitting. All of our dogs loved her. She sent us pictures of them while we were away. She was very friendly, personable and easy to communicate with while we were away. Our house was spotless with freshly washed sheets and made bed when we got home. We were so happy with her that we've booked her again. Thank you Derlene.”

“Megan was amazing. My dogs were happy and comfortable. They played and had cuddle puddles. Megan sent me pictures and updates. Not only did she take care of my babies she made sure she cleaned the floors, took out the garbage, even emptied my dishwasher. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter.”

“Emily looked after our shy rescue Goldendoodle for a week, while we went on holidays. She did an amazing job!!! Emily truly loves dogs! She is currently taking a professional dog walking course! She was in contact with us the entire time! She sent us photos and videos throughout the day! She even slept over at our house, our rescue dog felt secure!!! Emily took our dog to the dog park for walks! I am happy that we found her! I will for sure book with her again in the future!”

About: I’ve had my best friend, Ash, since I was 10. Almost 12, he’s as lively as ever! I had also adopted Dart last year, a 10 year old pointer with anxiety - I have had the privilege of watching him grow and bloom into his instincts and training! I’ve also worked professionally with dogs for over two years and specifically would be tasked to handle dogs with special needs, whether that be behavioural or medical. I can connect with dogs and read them incredibly easy. I’m very patient as well and have no fear when dealing with less trusting or “feistier” dogs. I also understand how busy life can get, especially when unexpected hurdles come your way. I am especially offering services for pet parents who are looking for super last minute help. I’m more than happy to share a more specific version of my availability if you think you’ll need last minute care in the near future. I also especially love senior dogs and can manage their specific health and behavioural needs with ease. :) Hi! I’m a student with two pups of my own. I would love to help others struggling with busy schedules give their pups the best life they deserve! I have pretty open availability, and really only have my own pup’s schedule to work around (which isn’t too hard). Come September, I’ll have a lot of daytime free time and may be able to adjust my schedule for last minute bookings or work out a weekly routine that works for the both of us. I’d be great for last-minute bookings, most especially for dog walking and drop-ins. I am also more than happy to negotiate pricing and cater it to your pups needs! :) ** I will accept short-term boarding under certain circumstances (typically if you’re experiencing an emergencies and need short term pet care ASAP). This is not preferred for me, hence the pricing. I’m very respectful of others spaces and will be able to recognize and learn the routines of your pup pretty quick! Special instructions are no stranger to me, so ask away!! I want to replicate their regular routine as much as possible to cause the least amount of stress :)
“Christopher was absolutely amazing! We had Chris house sit for two weeks and he made sure not only visit multiple times a day for bathroom breaks and feeding but also stayed for extended periods at a time to ensure my dog wasn’t lonely and bored. Chris also ensured to leave the house in the exact same state that I had left it in which is great appreciated. He also provided updates throughout the time as well and I felt like I always knew exactly what was going on back home. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a sitter while they are away!”

“Kyla watched our 130lb Cane Corse Blue for 2 nights in our house. She went above and beyond, contacting me and sending photos she took of Blue. Her knowledge in dog care came in handy when she noticed blood on the floor due to a bloody paw. She contacted me right away, identifying that he had a hot spot (which I had not heard of before) and let me know she had already taken care of cleaning his paw for us. Blue was in the best hands with Kyla and she will be the first contact I go to when booking another dog sitter. What a relief knowing your loved one is in such great care! Thanks again Kyla! :)”

“Jon was stellar! He took Sebastian to off-leash parks responsibly, took great care of my house, and was extremely communicative. I trust him in my space and with my boy and would absolutely request his time again in the future.”

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Morinville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Morinville walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Morinville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
