“Derlene is amazing. We had her for a home sitting. All of our dogs loved her. She sent us pictures of them while we were away. She was very friendly, personable and easy to communicate with while we were away. Our house was spotless with freshly washed sheets and made bed when we got home. We were so happy with her that we've booked her again. Thank you Derlene.”

“My dog was happy and well behaved when I came home, I received regular updates, and there was no mess or sign Spencer had been there at all except a well cared for dog.”

“Chloe was wonderful! This was our first time using this service and it was very smooth. I felt very comfortable and confident Hershey was left in good hands. Chloe was providing me with updates with pictures while we were gone. If I messaged her she was very quick to respond. I highly recommend her!”

“First time using the app and Jesse set the bar very high with regular pictures and updates! The home was kept very clean, Jesse was always very respectful when we met. I would highly recommend using Jesse and will be using him again! 10/10 all around.”

“This was my first time ever leaving my pets with someone other than family. I was nervous but after meeting her and watching my pets converge on her, my anxiety went away! She went above and beyond and cleaned for us after her stay. I felt confident that my pets were safe in her care.”

“This is the second time we’ve had Katherine stay with our dogs for the weekend and we will continue to go back time after time! She’s absolutely amazing, takes such good care of our dogs and our home truly going above and beyond just being a “dog sitter”. Thank you Katherine!”

About: 🌼 When you book with Adri, happy pets and relaxed owners are 100% guaranteed!! 🌼 Feel safe knowing that your pet is being cared for by a tried and true professional in the business. From suckling to senior I have handled, learned about, and enjoyed caring for any and all stages of both canines and felines as well as birds, reptiles, and rodents.I spent three years professionally handling dogs in a boarding and daycare facility. Post graduation from high school I dedicated most of my weeks to volunteering with rescues such as SCARS and AHHRB, being a foster parent to two larger breed dogs at separate times while playing my part in helping them get adopted. 🌼I am certified in both canine and feline CPR/ first aid through Canine Health Canada 🌼 I have special experience with different ability levels as well! Medicated seniors (pills, injections, liquids, etc.), tripods (missing one or more legs), blind or deaf pups, extreme allergies, I’ve dealt and thrived through it all before. 🌼I am currently studying both psychology and sociology at Concordia University in Edmonton and am excited to specialize in comparative psychology in the future. I am currently working part time for the summer so I have plenty of availability for all services! ☀️Boarding and daycare availability is dependent on the dates involved so please never hesitate to reach out! I have a closed off side yard available to me, two wonderful fully fenced off-leash dog parks and multiple outdoor private areas surrounding my vicinity. Wether you’re looking to socialize your pet more, or depend on them being able to relax in their own, all needs can and will be accommodated to my best ability. I have a very friendly and supportive 10 month old mini poodle mix that would be more than happy to keep your pet company, he is quite fortunately excellent with both lower energy and high energy friends. I can also easily crate pets for safety if needed for any reason.
“Lisa went above and beyond while caring for our pups! Daily walks, playtime and even brought them to the park. We also appreciated picture and video updates. Lisa is a polite, caring and professional woman. We returned home to a clean house, kept back yard and happy pups! Thank you Lisa!”

About: Animals have always been a part of my life. All of my own pets were adopted. Rescue animals hold a special place in my heart and helped build the foundation of my experience working with animals that have a wide range of temperaments, backgrounds, and needs. I’m often the person friends and family rely on when they need a trustworthy pet sitter, and I currently provide multiple dog walks daily for repeat clients. These households include small, medium, and large breeds, some with multiple dogs in the home. I focus on caring for one pet household at a time, which allows me to give each pet consistent attention and maintain their normal routine. I regularly care for dogs with very different personalities and energy levels—from playful puppies to calm seniors. I also have experience supporting dogs recovering from injuries, caring for pets that require medication, and working with anxious or reactive dogs. Animals tend to respond well to my calm, patient energy. I’m very attentive to body language and behavior, which helps me respond appropriately if a dog is unsure, stressed, or needs reassurance. My goal is always to maintain each pet’s normal routine and provide calm, consistent care so they feel safe and comfortable. I communicate clearly with owners, send regular updates and photos, and treat every pet and home with respect. Reliability is extremely important to me. Before the first booking, I take time to understand each pet’s routine, preferences, and needs so their day, walks, and care stay as normal and predictable as possible. Please request a meet-and-greet before new bookings to make sure it’s a good fit for everyone. While dogs are my primary focus, I’m also happy to care for cats and make sure they receive the same attentive and reliable care. I’m available seven days a week for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting, making it easy to fit care around your schedule. My flexibility allows me to respond to your pet’s needs whenever they arise. Safety and trust are extremely important to me. I communicate clearly with owners and treat every pet and home as if it were my own. I always share updates and photos so owners can see their pets are doing well and happy. I focus on caring for one pet household at a time, which allows me to give each pet consistent attention while maintaining their normal routine so they are comfortable. I take the time to understand each pet’s temperament, preferences, special needs, triggers and routine so they feel safe. During walks and visits, I stay attentive to their behavior and the environment, making sure they’re stress-free. In clients’ homes, I follow instructions carefully, respect routines, and maintain a calm atmosphere. If boarding a small or medium dog in my apartment, I am patient and maintain a calm environment with focus on supervision, routine, and structured walks. Please request a meet and greet prior to booking, to ensure you and your pets are comfortable and it’s a good fit for everyone.
“We went with Lyra again for an extended weekend trip and honestly we couldn’t be happier. She communicates consistently and loves our dogs. Our home is always left in tip top condition and our girls are tired. She especially takes a lot of time and has so much patience for our dog with medical issues and leash reactivity. I will forever sing her praises from the rooftops. We adore you Lyra!!”

“Stephen was so amazing with my sometimes tricky and sensitive dog, Rosie, we were travelling overseas for a few weeks. He went above and beyond in caring for her, and took extra steps to get to know her before the job started, which made a huge difference. He was also great with keeping our house in order and did extra duties we wouldn't have expected. Overall, a great sitter, I highly trust and recommend!”

About: I recently lost my 14 year old senior dog who had been blind for the last four years of his life. We managed walks with the use of bells on my laces. I was his seeing eye human! I have raised dogs from puppies. I have had dogs in all of the off-leash parks in Edmonton and surrounding areas. I am an incredibly active person who loves the outdoors and the river valley. I’m available for boarding on the weekends and live close to walking trails, the river valley and dog parks. I love to be outside and active but I also love to sew and quilt so my home is very peaceful. I would take the dogs for regular long walks. I have a dog park across the street from me and I am within walking distance of the river valley and some of the ravines. I would take care of your pet as you ask. If you use a kennel, I would do the same. If you have rules for the pets I would respect and abide by them.
“I was nervous to leave for a night without my dogs. Ava had fantastic communication while we were away and kept me up to date. When I came home my puppies were happy and seemed to be at ease. Unfortunately she had to deal with my dog making a mess, and she dealt with it without any hesitation and was understanding. 10/10 Would recommend!”

Avery took care of our pups and our house for a 3 day , 2 night stay. She came for a meet and greet a couple of days before which was able to put our minds at ease since we’ve never left our 3 dogs with someone before . My husband was very nervous but we were pleasantly surprised when we received pictures from Avery and when we reached out when we were away she responded promptly . Thank you for taking such great care of our pups and our home Avery we’ll certainly be reaching out again!

Alexis was so great with our cat and dog while we were away for 5 days. She sent me frequent updates and made sure to walk our high energy dog even in the freezing cold temperatures. The house was very clean and tidy when we came home which was so kind of her. Will definitely be booking with Alexis next time we go away.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Spruce Grove maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Spruce Grove walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Spruce Grove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
