I had visited a few kennels when I was looking at boarding my dog and it was not exactly the kind of environment I was looking for, it was very institutional like, despite understanding why it needed to be that way. I wanted my dog to thrive while outside our home and have new experiences that would not be typical in her everyday and she got that and more. Colton is very committed to the dogs in his care. His dog Emma is lovely and has learned to share her dad which is not always easy. My dog Charlie had the pleasure of playing with multiple dogs during her stay which I did not expect but was happy she was exposed to multiple dogs at a time. I loved she was in a home away from home. I loved that an area in the house was dedicated exclusively to the dogs, sofas, soft toys, chew toys and plenty of water, and supervision and engagement by Colton. His daily video updates were welcomed and appreciated and I shared them with each member of my immediate family so they could see our beloved Charlie was thriving. We were very happy to pick her up. We missed her a lot. About: I’ve been caring for dogs for many years and began fostering in 2020, which is how I met my dog, Levi — my foster fail! “I have three larger male dogs. One is a lab and overtly friendly, the other two have extreme high stranger danger fright. I selected Tricia based on her experience with foster animals (one of mine is a foster fail ;-)) so I knew she would have experience dealing with all kinds of behaviours especially coaxing dogs in a safe manner to come out of their shells. We did a meet and greet walk together switching leashes, giving trays and breaking the ice. She was wonderful dealing with the two shy boys as well as the overly excited one. By the end of a half hour one of my shy boys was letting her pet him and interacting with her completely on his own which is not normal. The other shy boy was showing interest and getting closer taking treats from her with ease but still unsure about pets. She was not in a hurry, gave more attention tot he dogs than to me, asked great questions, and overall was wonderful with them! I booked them for weekly walks with her due to her patience, understanding of dog body language, and her ease of coaxing them in a safe and healthy manner. The hope for the two shy boys is to come out of their shell a bit more and for the excited one to burn some energy.”
