Pet Sitting in Edmonton

“Sarah will be dogsitting for us this weekend so I scheduled a few drop-ins ahead of time so she could meet our dog, Leo. She was so good with him and completely knew how to respond to his anxiety and reactive behaviour. By the time she left, I think he may have liked her more than me :) My mind is now at ease as we go on vacation. I highly recommend Sarah, particularly for anxious and/or reactive dogs. I'm sure she can easily handle chill dogs too!”

She was quick to notice when one kitty was not feeling well and administered medication as necessary. This helped my kitty who was in pain and not eating. She perked right up and was back to herself. Alecia let me know right away about the situation and I was glad to know she was there to provide comfort and care. About: I have loved dogs all my life! Last year I volunteered at the SPCA as a dog walker for a few months. Previous to my time at the Edmonton SPCA when I lived in Toronto I helped to raise a service puppy and socialize her for a year. I am big on walks and exploring the city. Whether rain, shine, or even snow, I am ready to go out there. I love dogs of all sizes and breeds, including ones with reputations for being more difficult. I am available every evening for taking dogs for walks or stopping by for visits, including weekends, and am available during normal work hours Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday at any time. I can do house sitting on weekends.

About: My family has fostered for our local humane society for years so I’ve become very comfortable looking after animals. I am comfortable looking after any kind of dog— big or small, puppy or old-timer, hyper or lowkey! Many of the dogs I’ve helped foster have needed medication/ had special needs, so I am comfortable dealing with any pups that need some special attention (obviously to an extent— I am good with wrapping a pill in cheese, but will likely not be comfortable administering any shots/needs and more intense types of care) I also have a good baseline of training, so if you have things you are working on with your dog (ie. heeling on walks, sit/stay, etc) I can make sure that I am being consistent with how your training them when you’re gone. I will always make sure your dog is happy and healthy when I’m with them! I am currently only working part time so my afternoons and evenings are free most days! If you need someone to take your dog for a quick walk at noon, or someone to watch them while you’re out for the evening, I’m your gal! I am very flexible in terms of scheduling, I just ask that you are clear with communication and try to reach out about changes ahead of time I will make sure to follow any/all instructions you have when watching your pet at home/ or taking them out. If there are special things to pay attention to please make sure to tell me (ie. need to be put on a longline while in the yard, dog will dig under fence if not watched, should avoid any other pets and/or people on walks, etc.)
