“Bailey was absolutely fantastic with my black lab and my moms 2 year old mix! I last minute had to dog sit for my mom and being 8months pregnant, needed a hand giving her young dog the exercise she needs. Axel my lab was able to tag along and they came back from their walks super happy, tired, and relaxed. Bailey was very professional and you could tell loved dogs! Thank you Bailey, we will be using you again in the near future!”

About: Lifelong animal lover with years of hands-on experience. Reliable, caring, and attentive - your pet’s safety, happiness, and tail wags are always my top priority! I work evenings in the healthcare industry, so I have lots of daytime availability to give your pets loving walks, attention, and care they’ll adore Your pet’s safety and comfort come first. I stick to routines, and keep a calm, positive environment so every walk is stress free and fun.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 13, I have taken care of big and small dogs. I love dogs with a passion ! I currently work part time as a Paramedic, I have a lot of down time/off time, however my paramedic career will always come first ! I typically work 4days on, 4 days off, so on my days off I have lots of time! On the days I am working, I occasionally have down time, but this obviously can change and I am obligated to be a paramedic first! Please note: I am not able to have dogs in my apartment, so I am strictly dog sitting at your home! I am very diligent, routine based, and have always been reliable and on time! Ive taken care of dogs for years and love every minute of it!

About: Hi everyone, I'm from Vancouver but have relocated to Courtenay to study an Animal Care Aide program in a few months. I have 10+ years of pet sitting experience, dog walking, administering medications, drop ins to check on your pet, and more. I have had pets my entire life and met my first bunny as a baby and fell in love. I've had hamsters, goldfish, guinea pigs, bunnies, cats and dogs so I have about 37 years of past experience caring for all animals but specialize in taking care of bunnies. I'm hoping to find some casual or part-time work here, even when I'm in school. If you are interested in any of my services, please don't hesitate to reach out and message me. I currently own a 3 year old bunny named Boris who is half Dwarf and half Lop at 4.7lbs. He is my everything and the first thing I do when I wake up is feed him his pellets in stacking cups and hide treats in his treat puzzle where he'll come to greet me good morning and give me kisses. I then clean his litterbox to keep up to his high standards as well as mine and add fresh tomothy hay. After a lot of napping and play-time for him, he waits patiently at his dinner area for his evening salad consisting of dark, leafy greens, a few bits of carrots, and treats hiding inside which I make myself, at home, using only fresh, natural ingredients. He gets his night-time pets and hay cubes and more play-time from there on out and continues to play after I go to bed as bunny schedules tend to differ from humans. I'm not currently accepting boarding at my house as I'm not the only one living here and there is someone with allergies. I do, however, pet-sit when convenient for both parties for all kinds of animals and have no trouble with specific requirements one pet may have including administering medications. Feel free to ask me anything to determine if I would be a suitable fit to care for your loved one.

“Cal had such a great time with Amber, he was all smiles and wagging his tail when he got home. Amber was very reliable and kind. We will definitely be booking with her again.”

About: Puppies to seniors, simple to medically challenged, I have had experience with most. Friends, families and neighbours have entrusted me with their fur babies, and have never been disappointed. References always available. I am retired, and get my daily joy caring for pets, and my favorite part of my day is taking pups walking in the woods. Walking, playing, cuddling, feed and any meds. Animals with special needs are in good hands as I have cared for blind and deaf animals. Puppy traing is fun, and seniors are given plenty of time to meander as much as their comfort allows.

About: I've taken care of Huskies and Malamutes most my life. Experience with German Shepards too. I'm good with all dog breeds in general and enjoy making sure they're happy. Despite huskies being notoriously energetic, noisy, and unruly dogs at times, I've always fostered the chillest, quietest, and easy going huskies. Everyone who meets my dog is ways surprised how well behaved and calm she is. I work different jobs but my schedule is pretty predictable. Teacher on-call, media developer, videographer, tourism/hospitality worker, outdoor enthusiast. Wednesday-Sunday I'm usually free. I usually walk my dog around the block and take her to the exhibition grounds dog park. I have a balcony designated for pet use, as well as a two types of crates to cordon off animals if needed. Access to fresh water, treats, and attention are all easily available.

About: Passionate dog walker ready to care for your furry friend. Tailored walks, big smiles. From hikes to the dog park, whatever your preference is i can manage it. I work from home and I generally go for a mid morning walk and an afternoon walk. Happy to be in the forest or neighborhood. I have the first floor of my home outfitted for dog care, and a quick walk away from the puntledge river. Happy to board and walk dogs.

“Dana is wonderful with my dogs! She is an excellent communicator and so kind and gentle with my Pomsky and Corgi. She also gave thoughtful updates and pictures. We highly recommend her service!!”

About: I have experience with both cats and dogs, including senior dogs and cats with behavioural issues. From pet sitting, walking and administering medication, I have taken care of family, friends and co-workers' pets over the years. I currently work from home and have a flexible schedule, which allows me to take care of your pet(s) at various times and frequencies throughout the day/week. As a pet parent myself, to a cat with specific needs, I truly understand how difficult it can be to leave your beloved pets in someone else’s care. That’s why safety, trust, and comfort are my top priorities. I will ensure they feel secure and at ease in every environment. My goal is to provide not only safe and attentive care but also a fun and positive experience that keeps your pet happy and stress-free while you’re away.

“Jay is so great with dogs it’s was easy to leave and know they will be well cared for, he’s super accommodating and it made my trip 100 times better knowing they were in good hands !! Thanks jay !!”

About: I am a mom to a fur baby, a human baby, and a 3 year old who loves all animals (but especially dogs!) - My three year old is very gentle and sweet with animals and loves to care for our Rover Pals with me. She is best friends with our 1.5 year old Mexican rescue, Penny. At this time we are accepting overnight guests under 20lbs and friends of any size to come hang out for the day! In the summer of 2023, we said goodbye to our 16 year old dachshund, Belle. Sooner than we expected, we adopted a rescue from Mexico who is the sweetest, most gentle and sensitive mixed breed dog. We named her Penny (my daughter wanted to name her swampy goose but we talked her out of that, thankfully). Penny absolutely adores other dogs, loves to play and is extremely friendly and happy. However, she can be scared of bigger dogs who might wants to play aggressively or chase her. Her extremely gentle nature makes her a target for aggressive alpha types, so I can not accommodate aggressive dogs or larger high energy dogs who wouldn’t respect Penny’s personal space. (smaller high energy dogs are O.K, and large calm dogs are welcome). ** for reference, Penny is approximately 22lbs.** My husband and I are home owners in Courtenay. Our home has a fully fenced yard and sits on a quiet, low traffic street with a nearby park. We have a good sized, zoomie friendly back yard and a chuck-it for chase. There are numerous walking trails just a stick throw away! I have adored animals since I was a child and have been involved in their care whether through being a pet parent, animal-sitting, or volunteering since as long as I can remember. I have an interest in dog breeds and behaviours and am naturally an “animal person”. As a fur-mom, I know first hand how important it is to leave your beloved pets in the care of someone that you can trust when you are away, it is key to enjoying your holiday or trip from home. I will love and treat your special pets just as I would my own, with lots of love and care. Please note that I do not offer overnight services in a clients home. I do offer house sitting in the form of drop ins (as many as you need) collecting mail, watering plants, etc. Please inquire if you require this service. Though we love all creatures, our family is only suited to welcome friendly, non reactive guests into our home due to having children and a friendly dog of our own to consider. Thank you for your understanding.

“Sam loved Michaela right away and with good reason. Sam clearly was Micheala's focus and they couldn't wait to get one their adventure. We wouldn't hesitate to use Michaela again and I am sure Sam would be happy to see her as well.”

Linda G.
“Linda has been consistently taking care of dogs for many years. She housed my little girl for 3 months while I went on a traveling adventure. She took the absolute best care of my dog, with lots of love, walks and attention. I have also know Linda to take in a rescue dog, one which was not an easy task as the dog was blind, deaf, reactive and extremely overweight. Teddy (the dog) went from being a very sad dog who could barely walk to one that was so happy and could easily saunter down the forest paths for long walks. Linda took so much time and her patience was endless in rejuvenating Teddy. Linda loves to take dogs out for trail walks in quiet rural destinations. Don't hesitate to have Linda take care of your animals, she will treat your fur babies with extreme care, kindness and compassion.”

Kraig G.

They went above and beyond to ensure our pets were well cared. Our dog was happy and relaxed. It’s such a relief knowing our pets are in such capable, caring hands. We highly recommend Kraig to anyone looking for trustworthy and compassionate pet care!”

Courtenay dog parents share their Rover experiences
Bailey has such a nice calm demeanour that is good for a reactive dog like Milo. My husband and I are very pleased with Bailey and feel confidant with having him walk our boy. . Thanks to Bailey our “ tank “ is on his way to becoming fit and hopefully lose some much needed excess lbs “ fat dog” . Unfortunately due to a serious car accident I cannot always walk him enough. This service is wonderful!

Jodie was great with the way she greeted Milo. He went straight to her with tail wagging. I was very impressed with her. Once out the door Milo was happy and eager to go , Which is awesome because he has separation anxiety. It’s apparent that Jodi is an experienced dog owner and able to care for dogs of different temperaments I felt very confident letting her take Milo as I’ve never let anyone walk him except for 1 other person who is experienced with dogs. I highly recommend Jodi.
