“Susan took amazing care of my chihuahua and cat while away on a recent vacation. I was so impressed by the space in her home that she has dedicated to the cats. It was very clean, cozy, and full of things for the cats to climb and perches to look out the window. My chihuahua was spoiled with walks and cuddles and spent time sun tanning outside (his favorite pastime). Susan sent daily photo updates and was amazing when it came to communication before and during their stay. At one point we thought our flight home would be canceled due to a pending airline strike and Susan was totally ok with us extending the animals stay which relieved a lot of stress for us. (Thankfully we made it home on time anyway). I would 100% recommend Susan and will definitely use her again.”

“Kevin and his wife provided an outstanding boarding experience for my dog Parker! I really appreciated their communication throughout his stay which assured me that he was in good hands and having a great time. Highly recommended.”

“Such a lovely family! We spent 3 nights away knowing Charlie was in caring hands and have no doubt she received all the ball throws and cuddles her heart desired. Photo updates were appreciated as well :) Thank you Catherine and Doug!”

“It was so lovely to return to collect Finn after 3 weeks international travel to have him calm, washed and ready to go. Carol has been a delight to work with and her communication while we were away was great. Finn and I both agree that we have found his home away from home. Thank you Carol (and Augie, Rupert and Mike) x”

“It was great having Tilly board with Amber- she was fabulous with our girl, providing her with lots of stimulation, and us with updates and pictures. I have no reservations is whole-heartedly recommending Amber :)”

“Adam looked after my Havanese Ryan very well for a 5 day boarding, and his two small dogs Pip and Poppy also helped Ryan feel at home. My dog has significant allergies and needs to wear a belly band inside other people’s homes, but Adam dealt with everything with no problems. I have already booked another stay!”

“Kelly and Ian were fantastic. They took care of our dog Emmi-lou on short notice and were very accommodating of all of her unique needs and high energy. Kelly updated us often with photos and videos, we felt very good about leaving Emmi with such kind people.”

“Aparna took excellent care of my dog. Honey went on a long off leash walk everyday and was given lots of time with enrichment toys. Honey loved hanging out with Aparna’s dog. I received many pictures and videos from Aparna. This was my first experience with Rover and it was a very positive experience. I definitely recommend Aparna as a pet sitter!”

“Janine and her family took such great care of Natty-Bo! Lots of fun play-time, couch snuggles, photos and love. This was our first time leaving our pup and we had zero concerns while we were away. Thank you so much for that peace of mind!”

About: I have done drop ins and had friends/family dogs stay with me for the last 2 years and have owned my own (not anymore) dogs on and off for my whole life A pet lover with time to spare. I currently work 5 hours a day during the week and can provide early morning, afternoon and evening visits. I have a large fenced front and back yard. All animals must be well socialized with children if they are staying here, otherwise I can do drop-ins without children.
“Yasmine was amazing with our dog, Jasper. Jasper felt very comfortable with Yasmine and settled right in at Yasmine’s home. Loved Yasmine cautious and kind approach to things with Jasper. Will definitely book again.”

“Our dog Flake stayed with Cat for almost two weeks and we were very pleased with the service Cat provided. We received regular updates on how Flake was doing, as well as photos and videos, and I found communicating with Cat very easy. Flake had some issues settling at night but Cat was very patient with him. Our flight home was delayed by one day and Cat was very flexible with the pick up. Cat is an experienced dog groomer and Flake received a bath and brush -- his fur is still looking lush and shiny a few weeks after his stay! Flake loves other dogs so I knew being in a household with other dogs would be perfect for him, but on picking him up I could tell he had bonded with Cat and her husband and felt very much at home. I would definitely recommend Cat and we would be happy to have her look after our dog again in the future.”

“Ingrid’s home was the perfect setting for our senior Boston. She was extremely accommodating with drop off/pick up times and very thorough with personality/behaviour/routine/schedule inquiries & care instructions. She sent photos and updates while we away - it was evident he was well loved & taken care of! We will definitely leave our pup in Ingrid’s care the next time we are away! Thank you Ingrid & G :)”

“Willow had an amazing time with Carolyn and her family! She went up the alberni lookout and loved playing in her huge yard. I appreciated all the updates and communication was great. We look forward to seeing them again.”

“Brynne was wonderful with our dog - they went on long walks and Remy had the best time. Brynne sent lots of pictures and was super quick to respond to any messages. We definitely hope Remy can stay with her again when we come back.”

My dog Stella stayed with Sean for a week. As a recently adopted rescue with some leash reactivity and a few unknowns about how she'd handle new situations, I wanted to find someone I felt confident could manage her appropriately. Sean's history with dogs gave me that confidence, and Stella ended up being in good hands. When I picked her up, she was a happy relaxed dog and I really appreciated that Sean worked with her on some of her manners. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sean!

Timbit had a great time with Lauren and her cute pup Dolly. Lauren provided regular communication with photos and videos and treated him like her own. Timbit got plenty of walks, playtime, and cuddles, and even got some beach time and a pup cup to enjoy. Thanks for taking such good care of our little guy! Would rebook in a heartbeat when we’re in town again.

Grace and Benoit did a great job taking care of Harvey. They really went the extra mile to make sure he was comfortable and got lots of attention. Grace and Benoit also provided multiple updates with photos during Harvey’s stay with them. I would highly recommend using them to care for your dog.. .unless it’s during a time when we need them ;)

Janine and her family did an amazing job caring for our 5 month old puppy! We truly appreciated their prior experience with puppies, which gave us confidence that our pup had a safe, nurturing place to learn and play. They took her on daily adventures, including hikes and beach days, and Janine was consistently communicative, sharing plenty of photos each day. We wouldn’t hesitate to trust Janine and her family with our little one again!

I can't say enough great things about Natasha, and her partner, Jamie. Our original sitter backed out right before our trip over thanksgiving week. Natasha came to our rescue and took my Brad in on short notice. He was treated like royalty! He had fun new adventures everyday with Natasha and Jamie. I received multiple updates daily with pictures and I could tell my dog was having the best time. He got so much love and attention. If you need a pet sitter, look no where else. Natasha will take great care of your fur babies and you can rest assured while you are away. Thanks so much for spoiling my Brad.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
