About: We had to say goodbye to our sweet dog last fall and would welcome some occasional furry love in our home again! I understand what’s involved in taking care of a dog properly, all while giving them love and attention. I raised a vizsla dog from puppy through to senior and passing on. He had epilepsy which required daily medication his whole life, was a high energy alpha male, and had lots of minor medical issues. I also grew up with a collie-shepherd rescue when I was younger. During the summer months I don’t work, so looking to add a furry friend to our family while I’m home. I have kids, so while we may go out for occasional outings, if the dog isn’t joining us, the dog would only be home for a few hours. During the school year, I would only be gone weekdays for 4-6 hours. I have a fenced rural property (just under an acre) on the edge of Comox, with access to trails and beaches, galore! There is a mudroom inside our home that is a safe place to leave a dog, or a crate if they feel safe. My children understand how to approach and treat dogs carefully and respectfully (they are 7 and 10 years old). With some blankets on the couch, your dog is welcome up for some cuddles! The house is well setup for a dog, as our last one lived here too. There is always access to fresh water for your pup, we have a walk in shower with easy access from the door on tile, and our home is a comfortable temperature year round with a heat pump.

About: I’ve loved animals since I was a little girl! My brother and I grew up with cats , Guinea pigs , dogs and bunny’s! I now own a 3 year old little weiner dog who is very friendly and loves to play! She makes a great companion and friend for your animal if they get along with others! I took care of my elderly grandparents dog for many years. Walking her daily, taking her to appointments and grooming her! I understand the nerves of leaving your pet with a sitter. I will treat them just as my own, I am a very well trusted person who has a deep love for animals as I can assure you your pet is safe with me! I am a bartender and I work 4 days a week, I work short shifts anywhere from 4-6 hours! I’m available most parts of the day as I usually work nights. I will be able to stop in the morning and afternoon and then evening after my shift to look after your furry friend! If your dog loves company I have a three year old weiner dog who loves other animals! She’s extremely friendly and loves to chase! I have .5 of an acre backyard they can run around in. I walk my dog Olive twice a day every day anywhere from 30 minutes to 1.5 hour. I can bring yours along with me! I have a very quiet and calming space with a big yard surrounded by trees! My mother lives above me in the house and I can leave my dog upstairs if they do not get along or that is not something you’re comfortable with!

“We could not have asked for a better sitter than Valeria and her family. Lily felt right at home the first time we met them. Both Valeria and husband work from home, which meant someone was always around to give her attention. Their dog Gypsy and Lily hit it off right away and became best buddies during the 17 days we were away. The daily photos of forest walks, yard plays and the two dogs horsing around really put a big smile on our faces while on vacation. The biggest worry we had was Lily not wanting to come back to us after she thinks she hit the jackpot with the perfect family! It was our first time leaving Lily and we are so grateful for the cozy home environment and the love shown to Lily that she never felt like she was being left behind. Not only have we found our permanent sitter, we think we’ll have to find an excuse to leave Lily with Valeria on a regular basis so that Lily can visit her “second family”.”
