“Bailey was a life saver for me when my pet care canceled last minute!! He came and took my dog for a walk, and Winston came back a very happy boy!!”

About: In my lifetime I grew up with 7 cats of multiple characters, a childhood with Alsatian’s / German shepherds and an adulthood with 4 pugs. I am well versed in diverse care for different breeds . I know how to play with , care for, feed and nurture most animals. I work online and can take my work anywhere! I loving cycling running, explorative walks or relaxing at home and enjoy them all the more when with an animal companion. I follow your guidelines first and foremost and endeavour to respect the new relationship I am building with your pet, taking my time to get to know them and acquaint myself in your space. I always take care to leave places and pets clean , loved and cared for.

“I always know my lovely Luna is in good hands with Gammy!”

About: I've taken care of Huskies and Malamutes most my life. Experience with German Shepards too. I'm good with all dog breeds in general and enjoy making sure they're happy. Despite huskies being notoriously energetic, noisy, and unruly dogs at times, I've always fostered the chillest, quietest, and easy going huskies. Everyone who meets my dog is ways surprised how well behaved and calm she is. I work different jobs but my schedule is pretty predictable. Teacher on-call, media developer, videographer, tourism/hospitality worker, outdoor enthusiast. Wednesday-Sunday I'm usually free. I usually walk my dog around the block and take her to the exhibition grounds dog park. I have a balcony designated for pet use, as well as a two types of crates to cordon off animals if needed. Access to fresh water, treats, and attention are all easily available.

About: I have experience with both cats and dogs, including senior dogs and cats with behavioural issues. From pet sitting, walking and administering medication, I have taken care of family, friends and co-workers' pets over the years. I currently work from home and have a flexible schedule, which allows me to take care of your pet(s) at various times and frequencies throughout the day/week. As a pet parent myself, to a cat with specific needs, I truly understand how difficult it can be to leave your beloved pets in someone else’s care. That’s why safety, trust, and comfort are my top priorities. I will ensure they feel secure and at ease in every environment. My goal is to provide not only safe and attentive care but also a fun and positive experience that keeps your pet happy and stress-free while you’re away.

About: I have had dog and cat friends for as long as I can remember. For the past two years, I have been commissioned to take care of my friends and family members furry companions with increasing regularity and have decided that this the best possible way for me to continue doing what I enjoy. My availability is if flexible at the moment as I relocated to the Valley two years ago and have switched gears career-wise. My wife and I have a roommate so boarding is not an option. I am adaptable and consider myself extended family while continuing with daily routines and care needs for each individual furry friend. We will have a fun time together, guaranteed. I endeavour to respectfully leave you home the way I found it.

“Amber is amazing! She is very professional and Arlo my dog is happy to see her. He seems better behaved overall now that he is walking with Amber four days a week. I would recommend Amber to anyone looking for someone to help care for their pets.”

“Arrived on time and Cosmo had a great time! Matthew paid special attention to Cosmo’s needs and I can very grateful. Would definitely book with Matthew again!”

About: Puppies to seniors, simple to medically challenged, I have had experience with most. Friends, families and neighbours have entrusted me with their fur babies, and have never been disappointed. References always available. I am retired, and get my daily joy caring for pets, and my favorite part of my day is taking pups walking in the woods. Walking, playing, cuddling, feed and any meds. Animals with special needs are in good hands as I have cared for blind and deaf animals. Puppy traing is fun, and seniors are given plenty of time to meander as much as their comfort allows.

“Jodie was great with the way she greeted Milo. He went straight to her with tail wagging. I was very impressed with her. Once out the door Milo was happy and eager to go , Which is awesome because he has separation anxiety. It’s apparent that Jodi is an experienced dog owner and able to care for dogs of different temperaments I felt very confident letting her take Milo as I’ve never let anyone walk him except for 1 other person who is experienced with dogs. I highly recommend Jodi.”

About: Hi everyone, I'm from Vancouver but have relocated to Courtenay to study an Animal Care Aide program in a few months. I have 10+ years of pet sitting experience, dog walking, administering medications, drop ins to check on your pet, and more. I have had pets my entire life and met my first bunny as a baby and fell in love. I've had hamsters, goldfish, guinea pigs, bunnies, cats and dogs so I have about 37 years of past experience caring for all animals but specialize in taking care of bunnies. I currently own a 3 year old Dwarf/Lop I absolutely adore. I trained him to use a litterbox and free roam and spin for treats. I take him out for walks every week to get some fresh air and he's incredibly well-behaved. I'm hoping to find some casual or part-time work here, even when I'm in school. If you are interested in any of my services, please don't hesitate to reach out and message me. I have a 3 year old bunny named Boris who is half Dwarf and half Lop at 4.7lbs. He is my everything and the first thing I do when I wake up is feed him his pellets in stacking cups and hide treats in his treat puzzle where he'll come to greet me good morning and give me kisses. I then clean his litterbox to keep up to his high standards as well as mine and after a lot of napping and play-time, I make his evening salad consisting of dark, leafy greens, a few bits of carrots, and a treat hiding inside I made myself, at home, using only fresh, natural ingredients. He gets his night-time pets and more play-time from there on and continues to play after I go to bed as bunny schedules tend to differ from humans. I'm not currently accepting boarding at my house as I'm not the only one living here and there is someone with allergies. I do, however, pet-sit when convenient for both parties for all kinds of animals and have no trouble with specific requirements one pet may have including administering medications. Feel free to ask me anything to determine if I would be a suitable fit to care for your loved one.

“Dana is fantastic!! She’s a great communicator who replies promptly to messages. We left our anxious dog Joey with my in-laws when on vacation and hired Dana to help with walks. She went out of her way to travel to their home to meet with them prior to Joey’s first walk. Joey typically is very wary of strangers and we were nervous about not being there at pick up but went willingly with Dana without issue - a true testament to Dana’s ability to understand and work with anxious dogs. We will definitely hire Dana again. Highly recommend.”

About: I am a mom to a fur baby, a human baby, and a 3 year old who loves all animals (but especially dogs!) - My three year old is very gentle and sweet with animals and loves to care for our Rover Pals with me. She is best friends with our 1.5 year old Mexican rescue, Penny. At this time we are accepting overnight guests under 20lbs and friends of any size to come hang out for the day! In the summer of 2023, we said goodbye to our 16 year old dachshund, Belle. Sooner than we expected, we adopted a rescue from Mexico who is the sweetest, most gentle and sensitive mixed breed dog. We named her Penny (my daughter wanted to name her swampy goose but we talked her out of that, thankfully). Penny absolutely adores other dogs, loves to play and is extremely friendly and happy. However, she can be scared of bigger dogs who might wants to play aggressively or chase her. Her extremely gentle nature makes her a target for aggressive alpha types, so I can not accommodate aggressive dogs or larger high energy dogs who wouldn’t respect Penny’s personal space. (smaller high energy dogs are O.K, and large calm dogs are welcome). ** for reference, Penny is approximately 22lbs.** My husband and I are home owners in Courtenay. Our home has a fully fenced yard and sits on a quiet, low traffic street with a nearby park. We have a good sized, zoomie friendly back yard and a chuck-it for chase. There are numerous walking trails just a stick throw away! I have adored animals since I was a child and have been involved in their care whether through being a pet parent, animal-sitting, or volunteering since as long as I can remember. I have an interest in dog breeds and behaviours and am naturally an “animal person”. As a fur-mom, I know first hand how important it is to leave your beloved pets in the care of someone that you can trust when you are away, it is key to enjoying your holiday or trip from home. I will love and treat your special pets just as I would my own, with lots of love and care. Please note that I do not offer overnight services in a clients home. I do offer house sitting in the form of drop ins (as many as you need) collecting mail, watering plants, etc. Please inquire if you require this service. Though we love all creatures, our family is only suited to welcome friendly, non reactive guests into our home due to having children and a friendly dog of our own to consider. Thank you for your understanding.

“I appreciate the care attention while walking my senior dog with a few extra needs. Also appreciate your flexibility and warmth. We will contact you in the future as we need more dog care days.”

Bailey has such a nice calm demeanour that is good for a reactive dog like Milo. My husband and I are very pleased with Bailey and feel confidant with having him walk our boy. . Thanks to Bailey our “ tank “ is on his way to becoming fit and hopefully lose some much needed excess lbs “ fat dog” . Unfortunately due to a serious car accident I cannot always walk him enough. This service is wonderful!
