About: I have done drop ins and had friends/family dogs stay with me for the last 2 years and have owned my own (not anymore) dogs on and off for my whole life A pet lover with time to spare. I currently work 5 hours a day during the week and can provide early morning, afternoon and evening visits. I have a large fenced front and back yard. All animals must be well socialized with children if they are staying here, otherwise I can do drop-ins without children.
About: I have been caring for peoples pets for more than 20 years, I have been a dog trainer for almost as long and I am also a Dogsafe Canine First Aid Instructor. I had a dog walking and pet sitting business for many years, have cared for many types of animals, and have many references available. I also regularly do puppy training lessons around town as well as some puppy training walks/pee breaks for those who have a young or energetic dog and a full time job. I also care deeply about senior dogs and am happy to give walks at their pace and on their schedule. I enjoy being in service to animals, I want to help make their lives better. That enriches mine. I have a flexible schedule at my job on a farm in the summertime, and free time over the winter which I will open up according to my being in town. I am new on here and am not sure if it is all set up right, but all bookings are done by request. I live in Westview. I am confident in looking after your home, your plants, your animals. I have looked after homes and farms, dogs to horses. I am happy to let your puppy or senior dog out for a pee while you are at work, or take your dog for a brisk walk if they need it. I will give your animals the best care I can.
About: Hello beautiful community, I have several years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. “I can’t put it to words how super pleased I was to find such a gem like Andrea. My Fur Friend (Kelsey) totally loves her and she surely helped me out of a dilemma. Couldn’t get Kelsey into a dog Kennel for 2 nights due to his aggression towards other animals. Anyways found Andrea through this app and was a little Leary at first so we had a nice introduction we went on a typical walk with Kelsy. Andrea and Kelsey hit it if perfectly and by the end of our walk Kelsey was totally comfortable and affectionate to her. Returned from my trip and they were just finishing their last walk together. They way these two interacted to each other I knew right then that I made the best decision hiring Andrea. Andrea thank you so much for everything and you definitely will be sought after by myself to be my backup Dog walker. Thank you”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Powell River choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
