“Yuan looked after my shy, slow to warm up, but affectionate dog while I was away for the weekend! The moment she met myself and my pup, we trusted her kind and intuitive nature. Would book Yuan again in a heartbeat! Great communication and care was provided.”

About: Raised in a home with family dogs to take care of, and lucky enough to have gotten a pup of my own just 10 months ago. Years of experience dog-sitting for family, friends, and others to whom I was recommended. I work part time and make my own schedule, so I can be very flexible to your pet care needs - even with short notice. Dedication to following pet's normal routine, following feeding and medication schedules, ensuring your home security, and sending regular photo and text updates if you wish.
“Andrea has done a couple of check-in visits with our new puppy Annie and I couldn't be happier with her as a sitter! She let me know when she arrived, provided pictures and feedback on games, house training and puppy's time. So important to have someone so attentive to look in on our baby!”

“Tara was amazing with our cat Minou! She was super responsive and took really good care of our little girl. She sent us lots of pictures and a great summary of her visits. Highly recommend!”

About: I have been caring for peoples pets for more than 20 years, I have been a dog trainer for almost as long and I am also a Dogsafe Canine First Aid Instructor. I had a dog walking and pet sitting business for many years, have cared for many types of animals, and have many references available. I also regularly do puppy training lessons around town as well as some puppy training walks/pee breaks for those who have a young or energetic dog and a full time job. I also care deeply about senior dogs and am happy to give walks at their pace and on their schedule. I enjoy being in service to animals, I want to help make their lives better. That enriches mine. I have a flexible schedule at my job on a farm in the summertime, and free time over the winter which I will open up according to my being in town. I am new on here and am not sure if it is all set up right, but all bookings are done by request. I live in Westview. I am confident in looking after your home, your plants, your animals. I have looked after homes and farms, dogs to horses. I am happy to let your puppy or senior dog out for a pee while you are at work, or take your dog for a brisk walk if they need it. I will give your animals the best care I can.
About: Looking forward to helping out some locals with their pet care needs. Available for dogs big and small. I currently work part time with VCH, 7-11 Tuesday to Thursday, the Lund Post Office on Fridays and I sell at the farmers market on Sundays. Free in the afternoons. You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Powell River choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
