Rebecca and Nick are fantastic pet and house sitters. They took care of our two dogs, our two cats and 6 chickens, while house sitting for us when we were on vacation. They took great care of pets and sent us frequent updates and pictures, which is always so nice to receive. They took great care of our house as well and everything was clean and tidy when we got home. They were flexible in timing and location for the original meet and greet, and even made time to do a thorough walk around the house with us, twice. I highly recommend these pet and house sitters and I look forward to hiring them again.

Kyle was amazing with Charlie and Louie. He sent regular updates and was flexible with their schedules. He was very attentive and caring when Louie took a while to eat his food and gave them both lots of snuggles. Thank you Kyle for giving me peace of mind. Would recommend again in a heartbeat

Thomas is lovely! It was so thoughtful of him to make time for pre-meets both at our place and his. During the sitting, he sent photo updates during their walk and at bedtime, and Theo seemed well-cared for. Highly recommend and would definitely book again!

About: After 14 years of caring for my yellow lab Jack, I fell in love with dogs. Due to Jack crossing the rainbow bridge recently; I'm looking to get my "dog fix" while helping other members of the community! About me...I'm a fairly active person, I love to go on runs and challenging hikes. However, I easily adapt for the dog's needs. I'm hoping you value your pet's safety, wellbeing and happiness as much as I do, because your dog deserves it all. Looking forward to hear from you soon! Pet care fits seamlessly into my routine as I work from home full-time in Campbell River, allowing me to be flexible and available throughout the day. While I have an additional job on some weekday evenings, I can easily work around it to meet your pet’s needs. With enough notice, I’ll do my best to accommodate any schedule or special requests! In my home, it’s a relaxed environment with an indoor cat who mostly keeps to herself, ensuring visiting pets have a peaceful stay. When caring for pets at your home, I always prioritize their comfort and well-being, and I make sure to leave your space clean and tidy. My goal is to make sure pets feel at home, whether they’re with me or in their own familiar surroundings.

About: I have been living with dogs for roughly 25 years now, having just lived in a home with 2 dogs and 5 cats! I have roughly 1.5 years of experience working with dogs in boarding/day camps, where I cared for large groups of dogs, young and old, big and small. Provided meals, medication, baths, trail walks, etc.. I have a particular interest in animal behavior and training, which I enjoy practicing regularly. I find that I have a great connection with animals and enjoy being in their presence. I also enjoy implementing structure and developing mutual respect between myself and animals. I have lots of fun being with animals, particularly dogs! My availability varies based on my work schedule but I will always do my best to be accommodating to the needs of you and your pets! I am currently not able to host pets in my home as I live in a trailer with my partner and two cats! But I will always be glad to visit your home.

About: I have almost always had a pet throughout my life. Cats mainly but in more recent years I have been caring for both dogs and cats both through private house sitting (friends & family) and through the Trusted Housesitters app (Happy to share my reviews from there). I work remotely so I am often in the home a lot so that animals will get a lot of attention! Lots of cuddles and play time! I am very active so I love taking dogs for walks and hikes (depending on what the dog likes and is able to do). I am not super strong though, so I will say that if you have a large dog that isn't leash trained please don't request me (I've had an incident with a larger dog that wasn't great on leash and I just wasn't strong enough to control her). As a previous long time pet owner I know how tough it can be to put trust in another person to love your animals as much as you do. I like to ensure I'm giving the pet as much attention, love and care as their owners would. And also provide reassurance and lots of updates to the pet owners while they are away. I am self employed and work remotely so my schedule is very flexible to accommodate pet care. If I am house sitting, the pets get extra attention as I can give them attention while working and on my breaks. :) I do not have my own home (I travel and house sit full time) so I am only able to take care of your pet at your home. I will take great care of your pets, home, and plants if needed! You'll return home to a nice clean home.

Colleen and her husband watched our 2 frenchies for 2 weeks in February. We love them and so do the dogs. The boys were so well taken care of and so was our home. We returned to 2 happy healthy dogs and a very clean house. They sent us a text updates, pics and some videos regularly, which my wife and I really appreciated. They also helped our boys with a pulling issue they had on leash and found a way to help reduce that behaviour. We will book with this wonderful couple again.

Ocean is an amazing dog sitter. You can tell from the moment you meet her that she is a dog person. She took wonderful care of our reactive herding dog, making an extra effort to get to know her beforehand. She sent us tons of updates and photos and we felt very comfortable leaving our crazy dog in her hands.

Melinda was great and convinced me she has the confidence and dependability to take care of my dog. Because I am new to the Rover experience, I much appreciated that she wanted me to share all about my dog and our activities before we agreed that she would take care of him for about a week in my home. She was confident and calm with my dog and took on some yard care tasks in my absence. She reported to me every couple of days (as requested) documenting things were going well. I was away for an extended time and Melinda had to hand over dog sitting to a friend of mine, who confirmed that the dog was in great spirits and my house was left tidy and clean. I greatly appreciate her help, and I will hire her again when the need arises. Thanks Melinda!!

Janine and her daughters stayed in our home, and they took great care of our dog, Watson, and our chickens. Watson got to visit the beach and swim with them every day! We returned home to a happy flock, a very content dog, and a super clean house. I highly recommend Janine as a pet and house sitter! This was the third time she looked after our pets, and we are so happy with the care they received while we were away. ☺️

About: I started taking care of dogs when I was 12, helping with walks and training for my own dog in Italy, where I’m from. Being around dogs has always been a part of my life. Over the years, I also dog sat for friends and family, caring for different breeds and keeping up with their usual routines. After moving to Canada, I felt like something was missing and that’s when I decided to get my own dog here. That experience taught me even more about responsibility and the joy of having a dog in your life. I’m comfortable with daily walks, basic training, feeding schedules, and making sure each dog feels relaxed and well cared for. I’m responsible, easygoing, and genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs. I have a very flexible work schedule and am available for walks every day from 4 to 8 PM, as well as early morning and lunchtime walks. I also have more time on weekends, making it easy to fit in longer walks or extra playtime. I’m very respectful of each owner’s training style and home rules. At my place, I have a 2-year-old, 15-pound Havapoo who loves to play and will happily keep your pup company.

I also appreciate how tidy my home was when I got back. I would book these two again every time. Thank you so much!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Campbell River on Rover is $51.06 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 64 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Campbell River. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Campbell River maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Campbell River walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Campbell River choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
