About: Walking just isn’t the same without a smiley goof by your side. Life time of experience walking and enjoying the companionship of pups. I have experience with reactive dogs and understand the care that goes into them. I have also volunteered at the local animal shelter here in Tofino as their dog walker. Available to work in mornings or evenings, and occasional afternoons if the time permits, depending on the length of walks I may be able to fit it into my breaks at work as well! I’m very good at following directions to a point. Whatever care you need in your home I will be sure to respect. I believe that communication is the key to a happy and safe home

About: Hello, I'm Leah and I've been fortunate to live for 20 years on Tla-o-qui-aht territory. I got to share over 14 of those beautiful years with my faithful companion, Daisy. We lost our beloved girl to old age early this year. So, we are for the time being a family with no dog. I'm offering dog care and walking to locals and visitors to Tofino. We live in a house with a big yard, near the field and trails in town. We have a memory foam dog bed with a washable cover and we can accommodate one dog at a time for overnight stays at our house. I have a flexible schedule as I work from home. I can offer dog care any time of day, let me know about your needs. I will keep your pet on a leash while we get to know each other. I will discuss the amount and types of treats you're OK with. I'm happy to listen to your unique circumstances and customize care.

About: Vancouver, West End based. Dog walking limited to the west end. Open to house sitting on Vancouver Island and all over BC or Alberta. I moved from Toronto to Vancouver with my partner and my senior cat about a year ago. I am a currently taking a career break and studying in the evenings to become a social worker. Experienced pet parent including dogs, cats, rabbits. Experienced volunteer with a local humane society and a current parent to a senior cat, Foxy! Trustworthy and dependable, I will always confirm and communicate in a mutually agreed upon cadence. I am always punctual and flexible to my client’s needs. Experience with dogs of all sizes and temperaments (shih tzu, husky, border collie, shepherds, samoyed, doodles, etc!) —— Personal experiences: 🐶 DOGS: My family has a border collie named Yoyo, but they are in the suburbs in Ontario and I don’t get to see them as much as I like. My partners family has a Samoyed named Maya who is a rescue from South Korea. 🏡 This has given us experience with the toughest of cases with dogs - a hyperactive border collie and timid nervous rescue from abroad. 🙌 😻CATS: I am a cat parent. We have adopted our senior cat named Foxy who is the sweetest tabby after fostering her for 5 years and seeing her through many surgeries and health challenges. I have training with skittish and reactive cats from the Etobicoke humane society from when we were fosters. With experience raising puppies, taking care of kitties, loving bunnies and love going on walks. I treat animals with patience and kindness. I’d love to meet your furry friend and be their companion or walking buddy. 🐾 Feel free to message me with any questions! Thanks for visiting my profile and considering me ☺️ I am currently on a break from the corporate world and have a flexible schedule to walk, feed, play and give attention to your fur baby. I am very attentive to any food or hazards when walking. I am dependable, responsible and punctual. I communicate all relevant details and more if asked. People say I’ve got that parents watch!

We booked last minuted because we hadn't thought about what our dog would do when we were on our bear tour. Staying at the Crystal Cove, Carol's other job was here so she was able to meet Ruby before we decided. I knew right away that she would be a good fit because she Ruby was happy to meet her. Our dog was super tired from a long day and she gave her lots of cuddles. It was great that she sent us photos so we wouldn't worry. Never left our dog with anyone before. Would defintiley book again with more plannning next time we come to town. Thanks Carol, Virginia

Milena was amazing, as soon as she arrived I felt so comfortable that I chose her to mind Bruno , Her knowledge , attention to detail and just passion about dogs was perfect! Bruno took a liking to her instantly which he usually is nervous around new people . And even when she was leaving he was visually upset which shows they had such a good time together, l She kept me updated with what they were doing along with plenty of pictures to reassure me that Bruno was in good , safe hands which was very much appreciated , I would highly recommend letting milena mind your dog, and I will certainly be using her again next time we are in the area

Sarah was very communicative and considerate with the needs of our dogs. She was also really accommodating when it came to meeting us beforehand a couple of times (both to make sure she was comfortable and the dogs). She left our apartment in the same condition in which we left it, the dogs were calm and comfortable upon our return. We are so grateful to Sarah for taking amazing care of our Dogs, and would absolutely have her stay with us again! Thank you!!!

Seika and her family were simply the best. Blossom loved her time with them. They went to the beach, played ball, and had a fantastic time. You would be lucky to leave your dog with her. But not as lucky as your dog!!

Brenda and Aksel were absolutely amazing! From first contact to organize and plan a surprise getaway, get to know you/puppy call, updates throughout the day, and debrief when we got back. Clearly comfortable and caring with dogs (and puppies!), we were so comfortable and confident in our first Rover sitters ever. Thank you again for all of your care and love for our pup. We came home to a very happy puppy who was obviously well cared for and had all of her needs met (and more).

I cannot recommend Milena enough. I was in Tofino for a conference and didn’t want to leave my active pup, Monty, at home, but it also wasn’t fair to leave him in a hotel room all day while I was stuck in sessions. Milena was truly a lifesaver. She went above and beyond, driving all the way from Ucluelet to Tofino early in the morning to pick Monty up so I didn’t have to juggle conference logistics. On the evening we ran late, she even dropped him back off so I would not have to navigate the unfamiliar windy roads in the dark. That level of thoughtfulness and care meant the world to me. As a local, she knew all the best spots where Monty could safely enjoy being off leash even though his recall is far from perfect. She sent me many pictures and videos throughout the day, and it was clear Monty was having the time of his life. Her own dog, Cleo, was such a friendly companion and gave Monty the perfect playmate. By the end of each day, Monty was happily exhausted which was exactly what I needed after long and tiring conference days myself. I am so grateful for Milena’s warmth, professionalism, and genuine love for dogs. She made it possible for me to fully enjoy my time in Tofino, knowing my pup was not only cared for but also having his own adventure. If you are looking for a dog walker or sitter who treats your dog like family, look no further. Milena is truly exceptional.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Ucluelet on Rover is $88.8 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 17 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ucluelet. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ucluelet maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ucluelet walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ucluelet choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
