“Aparna and Chief combine to make a great experience for our dog who has pretty high anxiety. He actually is excited to run through the front gate to greet them both. Thank you for the excellent service Aparna!”

“I could tell the moment I met Ocean that she is a true dog person. She immediately knelt down to Bingo's level, gave him lots of affection, and let him come to her at his own pace. It was obvious how much she genuinely loves dogs. When I picked Bingo up, he was happily exhausted from all his adventures and had even learned a new skill! Ocean kept me updated with the cutest photos and was always quick to respond, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. I would happily trust her with Bingo again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, attentive sitter.”

“I’m would definitely use Yasmine again. She was great with Jasper, clear communication before, while and after. We were just visiting and needed someone to care for Jasper while out whale watching and she was perfect and convenient for the marina.”

“Christine was friendly, responsive, and flexible when providing care for our dog Koloa. Our nervous girl is selective with trusting new people and she seemed very much at home with Christine. We felt completely at ease leaving her with someone so understanding and welcoming.”

“Our boy Alpine absolutely loved Lizzie and her boy Copper! Alpine spent 2 full days with Lizzie in her home and he went on multiple adventures and came home happy & tired both days. Lizzie truly loves dogs and we highly recommend her dog care services!”

About: I have been walking dogs and pet sitting since I was 10 years old. I will be your dog's best friend whether it's for a daily or weekly walk or a weekend sleepover. I have raised two dogs from 8 weeks old that are impeccably obedient. I have cared for senior dogs, dogs with medical or dietary restrictions, small and big. I am here to cater to their favorite activities whether it be walking swimming or trail walks we are up for it all. I am a free lance bookkeeper and accountant that works from home. My day is scheduled around my animals and yours. Depending on the day I incorporate multiple dog walks and outdoor time throughout the day. I care for pets as if they are my own by maintaining all obedience rules of the family first. If obedience or crate training isn't a priority of yours then I can help to provide good habits that your pet can take home with them.
“Amber did a fabulous job taking care of Ranger. She was calm and thoughtful with our exuberant young husky. Communication with Amber was easy and she sent lots of photos to keep us up to date. I am pretty sure Ranger looked back over his shoulder as we walked back to the car at the end of the day. I would recommend Amber and will call on her again.”

About: I have been a dog owner for over 15 years! Many of my friends and family members have me watch their pets when they are away, especially since my dog Bucky and I are always out and about. I have had a ton of experience with a wide range of dogs, all with different levels of discipline. My pets have ranged from small breeds like a chihuahua to a larger breed like a boarder collie. I usually walk my dogs in many different areas around the city. Regardless of your pups needs, I will be able to take them on a nice adventure through the neighbourhood, going at the pace that is best suited for their physical abilities! Please note that Bucky will always join us on our adventures, but he loves everyone! I am in school doing a flexible part time program so I have lots of availability to hangout with your dog. I do work part time but this varies each week. We will play enrichment games, play with toys, the dogs can tussle in the park, or go on a sniff-ahari. Whatever works best for your dog, we will incorporate into our time together
“I had complete confidence that my dog would enjoy being with Adam. I had never left her with someone she didn't know. But his gentle, caring demeanor reasured both myself and Daisy. She went quite willingly to begin her adventure. He cared for her for a full day and I am very grateful. I was able to visit my Grand daughter with no worries about how my pet was. I hope to let Daisy enjoy more time with Adam..”

“Janine took good care of Darla while I went to go check out the Tulip Festival. Took her on a walk to the beach and ensured she was quite entertained. Janine also frequently sent photo updates and quite responsive when I asked how Darla was doing. ☺️ Highly recommend getting her as a dog sitter.”

“Marie and her dog were simply amazing at looking after my 3 month old puppy for two consecutive days! He was so happy that he almost didn’t want to leave! He had plenty of outside play time and was happy puppy when he went to sleep. Marie is a dog lover and expert herself, her dog is extremely well trained and polite, a good example for my puppy:)”

About: I’m Sandy — an animal-loving sitter with 30+ years of experience caring for dogs and cats. Pet sitting lets me combine my love of travel and animals while giving pets lots of love and their owners a completely worry-free vacation. I’ve spent decades involved in Pomeranian rescue, performed home checks for Little Paws Rescue, and most recently was a flight angel bringing two pups from Mexico to their forever homes. I’m especially good with seniors, shy animals, and pets who need a little extra patience and attention. I work part-time remotely, so your pets get plenty of company throughout the day. I’m a non-smoker with a peaceful, easygoing demeanor. I enjoy quiet hobbies like reading and yoga — which helps create a calm, relaxing environment for the pets I care for. I’m clean, respectful, and will look after your home as if it were my own. 🐾 Optional: I share my life with a gentle, well-socialized Pomeranian named Sable. She gets along well with both dogs and cats, and is fully housetrained, friendly, and easygoing. If you’re open for her to join me, she makes a sweet, low-maintenance companion — but she’s just as happy staying at home if you’d prefer a pet-free sit. References available. *Sable's reference: She was a therapy dog at the last dental office I worked at. She helped calm nervous patients, especially children. This speaks volumes about her character. I work from remotely part time. This gives me lots of flexibility to spend time with your pets and caring for you home while you are away. While you are away, I will treat your home and pets as if they were my own. My priority will be to keep your pets comfortable, happy, and on their normal routine while also making sure your home is safe and well cared for. Pet care will include: Feeding your pets according to their regular schedule and instructions. Providing fresh water every day. Giving medications or supplements as directed, if required. Making sure they receive their usual exercise, playtime, attention, and companionship. Keeping litter boxes, food areas, and other pet areas clean. Watching for any changes in their behaviour, appetite, or overall well-being and contacting you if I have any concerns. Sending you updates and photos so you know how your pets are doing while you're away. Home care will include: Keeping the home clean and tidy. Bringing in mail, packages, and newspapers. Taking garbage and recycling out as needed. Watering plants according to your instructions. Following any instructions for heating, lights, security systems, or other household routines. Making sure doors and windows are secure when I leave. Letting you know right away about any maintenance issues or unexpected problems. I will respect your home, privacy, and belongings and will do my best to leave everything in the same condition as when you left. Most importantly, I want you to be able to enjoy your time away knowing that your pets are safe, cared for, and receiving plenty of love and attention.

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Campbell River commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
