About: I grew up with dogs my entire life and started watching dogs for family and friends while in college and couldn't have my own. I've enjoyed watching pets for my loved ones and now that I am in a house and working remotely I want to be able to provide my pet care experience to more fur babies. While the majority of my experience is with dogs I've also taken care of cats, fish, anoles, bearded dragons, rabbits, chinchillas, and hedgehogs. I'm open to caring for all sorts of animals and I'm able to be flexible with your needs. I work outside the house part time so when pets are with me they are my first priority and I only accept pets when I know I have enough time to give them all the attention they need. I have caged animals that I let out when I can supervise them so they house is animal proofed and anything potentially harmful is locked away. I have baby gates that can be put up to keep puppies/ elderly dogs from falling down the stairs. My back yard is enclosed on 3 sides by fencing and would be watched and leashed at all times when outside.
“We’re so grateful for Janet! We had overlapping work travel and she was able to watch Oscar despite our wonky schedules. We are a little concerned, however, that our cat is starting to like Janet better than us because he’s clearly disappointed when we come home! 😂”

“thank you both for going above and beyond for my pets! you gave me the greatest ease of mind knowing my pets were loved and cared for. the photos and reports you sent were adorable!”

“Jessica dropped-in to feed and take care of our cats twice a day while we were gone for 10 days. She did a wonderful job, we’ve just come home and our cats are still happy and healthy, and their litter boxes clean! We had a crazy wind storm while we were gone that blew open a side door and knocked down part of our fence, she even helped to close & re-lock the door and sent a picture of our fence to let us know what had happened. This help showed me she cared about how we felt when we came home from our trip abroad!”

“My sitter of 2 years is no longer doing rover and I had to last minute find someone new. Kevisha was on time and handles Jursie well! I came back home and he was a happy pup!”

About: My dog growing up was a black lab chow mix, so I work well with energetic dogs and love to run and play with them. I love to be outside and would love to take your dog on a walk/hike with me! I joined Rover to spend time with animals, get some exercise, and help you take care of your furry companions. I am hardworking, reliable, and punctual. I’m currently working hybrid so I’m flexible with dog walking times and my ability to dog sit! My job is 9-5, but I can stop over before/after and on breaks between meetings depending on your dog’s needs! I am flexible to either let your dog out in a fenced-in-backyard or take them on a leashed walk! The length and duration of that walk can be adapted to your dogs’ energy levels!
“Erica was amazing! We set up a meet and greet and our cat is very selective of who he immediately goes up to and he wasted no time meeting her. We were able to enjoy our trip and not worry at all if our cat was cared for and well taken care of! Will be using her again! We really appreciated the amount of pictures she sent us.”

About: I currently have 1 dog, 1 cat, and tons of exotics!I have worked in a pet rescue giving me experience with shy dogs and the most outgoing dogs. I've been trained on safe walking practices and safe dog interactions. I would love to help care for your pets! With the pets I have, I'm always working and learning about the care I can provide them! With my dog and cat, I'm ready to play with them. I also work at a pet store specializing in fish. I'm happy and ready to join your pets live's as long as I can! For dog walking and drop in visits I like to spend time letting the dog sniff me before harnessing or leashing. I want to make sure they are comfortable with me in their space. Once showing a more relaxed body language I'm ready to earn trust and take walks around neighborhoods and take dogs out for their potty breaks.

About: I've been an animal person my entire life. I grew up helping pet-sit the neighborhood dogs, and my family loved a rescue German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix from the time I was 10 (she was 2) until she was 15 - she watched us grow up and even visited my college house. As an adult, my heart belonged to January, a border collie/American Staffordshire terrier mix I brought home in my late 20s after seeing her story on the news. She was an energetic, clever puppy who taught me patience, consistency, and the value of positive training. We had 13 wonderful years together before she passed in November 2025. Losing January left a hole in my routine and my heart, and I’m not quite ready to adopt again - but I’ve found real joy and healing in caring for other people's pets. I've recently house-sat and hosted dogs, cats, and birds for friends and family, from puppies and kittens to seniors on medications with special needs. That experience, plus a gentle nudge from the people who suggested Rover, is what brings me here. I've used the same trusted vet since I was a kid and know the ropes - comfortable administering medication, contacting the vet, or getting emergency care if needed. Your pet will be loved, watched closely, and cared for like one of my own. I work a hybrid schedule: two days at home (typically Monday and Friday) and three 8-hour days in an Avon Lake office (Tuesday-Thursday). My schedule is flexible and easy to swap these days. I can use my noon lunch break for midday walks, potty breaks, and playtime if you're within 5-10 miles of my location. I’m available in the evenings after work for walks, feeding & visits. I'm also happy to water plants, bring in mail, and handle other small house-sitting tasks. I live in a cozy Lakewood duplex on the first floor with a front yard and porch that dogs (including my former dog and the neighbors’ dogs) love to lounge on. I have a yard stake leash available for safe outdoor time. I already have bowls, beds, leashes, and other supplies, so your pup won't need to travel with a pile of gear if you don’t want to. I can board up to two dogs at a time -any size, any friendly mix - but I don't board cats in my home (happy to care for them at yours).
About: I’ve had three dogs so far and also currently have a cat and absolutely love caring for them!! I have also done pet sitting for the past 5 years!! I am a manager at my current job and am able to make my own hours, so pet care can fit in any day and at any time! At my home, I have a fenced in backyard for my dog to play and occasionally let my cat out on a harness. I love playing with them during the day and make sure they are always fed and watered.

We spend time playing in the back yard and even can work on some training techniques. Your dog(s) will be kept comfortable as the climate varies. Yes, we have central air to enjoy and comfortable resting areas.
“Courtney took great care of my puppy! She did a check-in with him during the day and took him out and played with him to get some energy out! It was super helpful while I was at work all day.”

“I needed someone to let my dogs out in the mornings and Daisy was awesome! She was very consistent and always punctual, plus the dogs really loved her! She was also very patient when my key code system wouldn’t let her in. Overall, I highly recommend Daisy and will definitely hire her again in the future:)”
“Alexandrea was wonderful with my cat while I was out of town. She kept her well fed and played with her each day. I received several photos each day of my cat happily playing and cuddling with Alexandrea which helped put my mind at ease. I'd use Alexandrea again for future cat sitting services.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
