“Alyna was great! She took our dog with short notice and did a great job. He is a 9 month golden retriever and has a lot of energy, and she handled him very well. Would definitely recommend!”

“Maria and her family took wonderful care of our 4 mo old golden. Frequent updates and pictures. Played all day with the other pups. Perfect set up! Thank you Maria!”

“Debra and her husband were outstanding!! We recently left our two dogs with them and their 5 dogs and had a stress free vacation knowing they were in such good hands. Their backyard is amazing and built for dogs. Deb kept them on the same medication and feeding schedule! Got pics while away and could tell my dogs were happy. I had time with all of their dogs prior to leaving mine with them and can attest to the fact their dogs are super dog friendly and well behaved. Our dogs came back tired and super well cared for. We will be back for sure:) would highly recommend”

“Christian was absolutely fantastic taking care of Aspen! We were away in France and had no worries about our pet because we were constantly updated with messages, photos, and check ins about Aspen's status. This is very reassuring as an owner. I have bookmarked Christian's name on Rover for our next vacation!”

“Marc is a lifesaver. We originally needed him to watch Finn for 4 nights but we got delayed an extra night and he was able to keep Finn for us. We are so lucky to have found him. Finn absolutely loves him and his beautiful dog, Archie. It’s like a vacation for him while we are away. You will be thrilled to have Marc watch your pet. He cares so deeply for the animals in his care and they always come home as happy as can be! There are not enough stars to rate how great Marc is!!”

“Isabella and her Fiancée, Connor, were amazing. Our dogs can be a bit needy and timid. Based on the daily pictures Isabella sent us, the pups were having the time of their lives (my golden retriever was actually a bit sad to leave.) Great at responding and flexible to our schedule. We’d absolutely use them again in the future.”

“Jennifer and Stephen took wonderful care of our dog Beau. He loved being with their pets (dog and cat), and had a great time. Will definitely be using Jennifer & Stephen again! Many thanks, Christine & Leon”

“We had a very last minute trip to the cape and Jackie was very responsive and accommodating! I cannot say enough good things about the care she was able to provide for my dog Tate. She was able to send constant pictures and videos which made the time away from the dog much easier knowing he was in such loving care. It was a 10/10 service and worth every penny!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
