About: I am my neighborhood’s designated pet watcher and I also own three big dogs of my own. I have experience with very energetic dogs as well as dogs with anxiety. My dog Bear has epilepsy so unfortunately, I am used to giving medication and taking care of his special needs. I am a college student at Columbia University working a part-time remote job this summer with the US government. My schedule is super flexible. I wanted to find another job that I would always enjoy. I am currently working a part-time remote job at a consulting firm this summer. I am a rising junior in college with a car and loads of time. I am willing to drive just about anywhere and make sure your beloved pets are safe while you are away. I am very reliable, prompt and professional.
About: Ever since I was a baby I have always grown up around animals. About four years ago I started watching my grandparents Rottweiler and stayed several nights and days taking him on walks, feeding him, and interacting with him by playing. About five years ago I got into fostering dogs ranging from puppies to adult, and sometimes having several at the same time. I have experience with puppies due to fostering and owning my own, and I have experience with adult dogs from fostering and owning my own. Besides having experience with just dogs I have experienced and taken care of dogs who have had previous surgeries, dogs who have cancer, and dogs who have to take several medications several times a day. I am currently working a full time job M-F from 9-6 and im off on the weekends. I would be able to help in the mornings and around lunch time everyday, and be able to help after work. Although I can not care for animals in my home due to complex regulations when I had dogs I had a fenced in yard and would go outside and interact with them. When I was at other clients homes if they didnt have a fenced in yard I would walk their dog or put them on a leash in their yard.
“Jennifer has been GREAT with Joey. My work hours are crazy and I needed help with my wolfhound mix. Jennifer has conducted herself VERY professionally. I receive clear and consistent communication on how Joey did during his walk; good, bad, area needing improvement with suggestions. The photos she takes is an AWESOME bonus. We’re going into our second week. I decided to set her as a reoccurring booking.. . if you’re looking for a dog walker and have never done this before, I recommend Jennifer 😃”

“We have used Deven for dog walks several times. She's absolutely amazing and handles the dogs very well. Athletic and able to run your furry one around no matter the size or speed.”

“Ma’Lisa was very easy to work with, as I have a four month old puppy. She responded quickly and was very good with my dog. Definitely recommend. Intend to hire again in the future.”

About: I have been watching animals for friends and relatives for years, and I’ve had 6 different kids of animals myself. Any pet will be respected and loved under my care. Also, I have a bit of a picture taking obsession, so you may receive lots of photos of your pet having fun! I’m a teacher, so I’m off for the summer. I will be home the entire time if I have a pet under my care. So my availability will be open to you and your pet! I have two cats of my own, who are limited to a bedroom in my apartment when other animals are around. unless your pet wants a playmate! Your pets will have open access to the rest of the apartment, as well as the dog park and walking trails around my neighborhood (leashed of course)

I’m always here to help my partner and I work from home with flexible schedules, which means your pet will get plenty of time attention, and affection. We’re set up for safe stress, free stays and comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes and temperament. I’m also happy to follow any special routines or preferences your pet may have because I know how important it is that they feel at home even when they’re away from it. Lets connect. I’d love to learn more about you and your pet and how I can help ☺️ Caring for pets is a natural and fulfilling part of my daily life, my partner and I both work flexible schedules and spend a lot of time at home which means your pet will rarely be left alone, and I get to spend on the attention on them throughout the day. We structure our day around morning walks , play sessions and calm, cozy moments just like we would with our own dog. Whether we’re hosting a pet in our home, doing drop in visits, or going for a walk. We plan our routine to ensure your pets needs to come first. Our space is clean, quiet and pet friendly with cozy spots to rest space to play, and no other animals at the moment so you get all our love and attention. About: Hi! I’ve taken care of my family and friends dogs for several years! I love cats and dogs and the joy they bring to us humans. I’m currently working from the months of August to May (full-time). I usually have most holidays off. My schedule when I am working is from 5am-4pm. I usually like to go to my clients house and watch animals there. I’m pretty much comfortable as long as there is open communication between us.
About: I have taken care of a variety of animals, featuring fish, cats, and a few different breeds of dogs. I love being active so if you need your dog walked I gotchu. If your pet just needs a bit of loving, I got more than enough love to give to your precious babies. In my life I’ve owned fish, a cat, and currently the cutest white German Shepard. I am more than willing to adapt to whatever special needs your pet has, even as far as spoon feeding them. (Hasn’t happened yet but who knows!) I’ve done pet sitting for multiple neighbors and relatives: fish, frogs, cats (both kittens and a senior), and even a few different breeds of dogs (primarily a golden Labrador). I am happy to be at your service and to get to know your precious beans. I am an artist and need some work on the side of that to get by. Since I have such flexibility, I should be able to show up any time as long as I’m not asleep! I cannot accept pets into my own home as I currently own a dog and don’t want mine or your pet(s) to get stressed by strange animals; however, as far as caring for pets in other people’s homes, I am willing to make as many visits as is necessary. I can also take your pet on walks, clean up if there happens to be a mess (ie: hairball), change litter, clean up dog poop, and more! As of now I don’t offer overnight stays.
“Rebecca is terrific. She is reliable, and you can tell she loves animals. She found a way to take my stubborn dog for a walk! We will definitely call on Rebecca again for walks!”

About: Hi I’m Meredith! I’m 20 years old and I’m excited to be your new dog walker. I have owned dogs since I was a little girl and dog sit for my family when they’re out of town. I’m looking for some dogs who need a walk or play date while their owner(s) are away! If you’re looking for someone to play with, care for, and love your furry friends while you’re away; than I’m your sitter!💕🐾 I am a university student and will not be working a job this summer. I will have flexible scheduling and can pretty much work any days and times. I can easily adapt to the schedule that you have set out for your dogs in your home. I am not currently planning on doing any care at my own home, but I do have a fenced in yard and a friendly 6 year old female dog.

About: 🐾 Your dog will be treated like family from the moment they arrive. I know how hard it is to leave your furry best friend with someone else, which is why I make it my mission to provide a safe, loving, and fun environment where they feel right at home. I’ve spent over 20 years caring for dogs of all personalities and sizes, and I genuinely love every minute of it. Whether your pup enjoys playing fetch, going for walks, exploring the yard, or getting plenty of belly rubs and attention, I’ll make sure they feel happy, comfortable, and cared for throughout their stay. You’ll receive regular updates and photos, so you can relax knowing your dog is in great hands. I believe every pet deserves patience, kindness, and personalized care, and I treat each one as if they were my own. I’d love to meet you and your four-legged family member, send me a message and let’s see if we’re the perfect match! I work from home, which means your pup will enjoy plenty of companionship, attention, and supervised time throughout the day. My flexible schedule allows me to provide regular potty breaks, playtime, walks, and lots of love. Like any family, I occasionally step out for errands or appointments. If your dog experiences separation anxiety or isn’t comfortable being left alone for short periods, I kindly ask that you provide a crate or let me know their specific needs in advance so we can ensure they stay safe and comfortable while I’m away. My goal is to make every pet feel at home while giving owners complete peace of mind. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I care for both dogs and cats, and I treat every furry guest like a member of my own family. For dogs staying in my home, I provide frequent, structured potty breaks and exercise throughout the day. Since I don’t have a fenced backyard, dogs are taken on regular walks every 2–3 hours and again about 40 minutes after meals to keep them comfortable, active, and on a healthy routine. My home has an open-concept layout, and all pets remain safely on the downstairs level with a baby gate blocking access to the stairs, creating a secure environment where they can relax and play under supervision. For cats, I provide a calm, low-stress environment that respects their unique personalities and routines. Whether they’re playful or prefer their own space, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while giving them the attention they need on their terms. For dog walks and drop-in visits, I follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, playtime, and any special instructions. My goal is for you to return home to a happy, relaxed pet—and to have complete peace of mind while you’re away.

Toneshea was absolutely wonderful! Her communication was great throughout, which gave me so much peace of mind. She was also incredibly patient with my dog, who can be a bit difficult—especially when it comes to taking his pill—and handled it with care and professionalism. On top of that, she made sure he got a thorough walk and plenty of attention. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate dog walker!

The best! Reagan was great! Always timely and great communication. She was willing to accommodate a last minute change. The dogs were happy and were well taken care of along with my home. One of my dogs had accidents and she took care of it all and took great initiative. Thanks again!!!

I just have to reiterate how great Nigel has been to me and my old dog Mercy. It means the world to me that I don't have to worry about a single thing when I'm at work knowing Nigel will be there. Plus he is so flexible with unavoidable last minute bookings and even later cancellations, due to the nature of my job. He is like family to me and I highly recommend him.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
