Britany administered meds and took great care of my pup that was recovering from a procedure. It was last minute and I was in a pinch, and she was more than willing to step up to help out. She is always reliable and helpful!

Lori was fantastic! We felt good leaving our 3 large dogs with her for a weekend in our home. She kept us updated and informed on their eating, potty, and medication schedule. We also came home to a clean house and the sheets where she slept were already washed. We absolutely recommend Lori!!

Katie stayed with our 2 boys without a lot of notice, everything went very smoothly. Our big guy had been having a lot of tummy/health issues recently and she was really good about adjusting diet to try to get him to eat some. Would definitely recommend her for your pets!

This was a last minute booking that Tara was quick to respond to and set up a meet/greet for. I was very nervous to leave the dogs as we just recently rescued one with severe trauma/fear and another one healing from a recent surgery and still getting used to having his new brother in the house. I knew they needed someone very attentive and knowledgeable—Tara was just that and beyond! We had a slight issue that we did not anticipate with our rescue doggie and Tara was quick to inform us and navigate the issue to ensure both our dogs were happy and healthy in her care!

Julie was awesome! She saved us from having to cancel our vacation. 2 days before our trip, our 60lb Boxer showed symptoms of kennel cough which meant we could not board him ?. With no back up plan, we were frantic to book someone to stay in our home overnight with our dog. After reaching out to a dozen or so people, Julie was prompt to respond and let us know about other obligations she committed to during those dates. We worked out a flexible schedule and did a meet and greet the same day. We booked her the same day! She was comfortable with our dog’s illness, medication and behavioral needs. She communicated daily about our dogs symptoms and assured us of any problems. Her Vet Tech background helped us relax on vacation. We were so lucky to find her and we will definitely use her in the future. Thank you again Julie for taking care of our pup!

Amanda was great with our three Husky’s. They are all blowing their coats and she did a great job keeping up with the flying fur. Our dogs were so calm and relaxed when we got home, she did a great job of keeping me updated and I didn’t have to worry about whether or not they were well cared for during our vacation!

About: growing up with a family dog, i’ve always looked forward to our long walks! since i've moved to care for my grandma and can’t have a pet at my current home, i’m looking to be the dedicated adventure buddy your pup deserves! i’m an avid walker who cleans up after your pet and loves exploring local parks and trails. i’m just as comfortable handling a brisk, high-energy trek as i am a slow, 'sniff-heavy' stroll for seniors or four-legged friends who love getting distracted! all sizes welcome: i absolutely love dogs of all sizes, from tiny pups to extra large breeds. if you have a giant dog, you are in safe hands here! being a taller, sturdily built person gives me a natural physical advantage and a grounded presence :) i don't get easily knocked off balance or intimidated by heavy pullers, meaning your big dogs get the steady, confident, and secure handling they need! hot weather: for dog-friendly clients, i am able to provide low-stress trips to uncrowded, pet-friendly stores/facilities for stimulation and enrichment (including a potty break outside before and after, of course!). i am also happy to walk earlier/later in the day to avoid the heat as well! i also enjoy keeping pets company in-home, whether it's playing with toys, using lick mats, or just spending some time together! my growing services & training: i am now certified in dog training, and offer a train & walk bundle if you're interested!! :) my ultimate goal is to become a true one-stop shop for your dogs, so i am also currently working toward learning professional grooming to add to my services soon! because i work evening and overnight shifts, i have guaranteed availability every morning and midday for your dog’s routine. whether you need a recurring daily walker or a same-day visit because you’re running late, i'm local and ready to jump in! my current job is closing in a few months, so i’ll be even more available for your schedule soon :) in public, i use a short-leash grip, stay hyper-aware of our surroundings without distractions like phones/technology of any kind (aside from photos, of course!), and avoid unknown dogs to keep your pup protected. i pride myself on being a trustworthy, punctual communicator, providing frequent photo updates so you’re always in the loop. i am very confident in my ability to kennel/leash pets & i consider myself well-versed in administering medication. i am keen when reading animal stress signals, ensuring your pet feels safe and understood under my care! as of august ive completed my initial dog training certification and continue learning to better my understanding and confidence in dog training :)

It was such a relief to have Aidan caring for my dogs at my house while I was gone on my 8 day vacation. My pups are 14 and 11 years old and have special dietary and medical needs and he was able to keep them well fed, medicated and happy! This was the first time in their whole lives that I didn't have friends or family available to watch them, but I didn't have to worry as Aidan sent pictures and kept me up to date on how things were going. If I am in this situation again Aidan will be the first person I reach out to!

Dave took the time to meet with my dogs 3 times before coming to house sit for a weekend to make sure both dogs were comfortable with him staying. Dave handled both rescue Germans shepherds greatly! He even came back when my travel plans changed to make sure the dogs got dinner and night time exercise.

Jaina was very responsive and communicative during our trip. This was my first time hiring a petsitter so I was already nervous, but my sheltie Piper does NOT like strangers so that added more stress. Jaina worked with us to have a few (loud) meet and greets with Piper to familiarize herself with her. It took a day but Piper soon warmed up to her and settled which allowed us to relax and enjoy our trip. I'm very grateful to Jaina for handling our anxious dog and reassuring us with her daily and sometimes twice a day updates.

Matt is very good at communicating. He was good at following the instructions I left and flexible when my flight was delayed. He took Lacey for walks an made sure she went out for business before he left the house for work. When he did meet and greet a couple weeks prior, Lacey was on antibiotics (pills) and I expected her to be done by the time of my trip. She had to stay on them longer, and Matt made sure she got her pills.

FAQs for House Sitting - Boston Heights

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Boston Heights on Rover is $42.18 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,452 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Boston Heights. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Boston Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Boston Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Boston Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Boston Heights. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
