About: I work from home and am home throughout the day, allowing me to provide consistent attention, regular potty breaks, walks, meals, playtime, and companionship. I’m flexible and able to accommodate each pet’s unique schedule and routine, whether they need a quick drop-in, a walk, overnight care, boarding, or someone to stay with them throughout the day. I’m comfortable caring for pets at different life stages, including young pets who need patience, structure, and help with training, as well as senior pets who may need extra comfort, slower walks, medication reminders, or assistance maintaining their routine. I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away, and my goal is to provide dependable, loving care that makes them feel right at home. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I work from home and am home throughout the day. This gives me the flexibility to provide regular potty breaks, walks, meals, playtime, and plenty of companionship. I’m also comfortable caring for senior pets who may need extra patience, attention, or assistance, including administering medications as directed. I’m able to accommodate different schedules and routines, whether your pet needs a quick drop-in, a walk, overnight care, boarding, or someone to stay with them throughout the day. I know how important it is for pets to feel comfortable and maintain their normal routine while their owners are away. My goal is to make them feel safe, loved, and right at home while in my care.

It’s clear she cares about animals and was very communicative during drop ins, which I really appreciate. I would definitely recommend Lisa and will be using her again.”

About: I currently have a Labrador Retriever and a cat, and before them I raised a golden retriever who lived to 11. I’m close to the MetroParks, so even without a fenced yard there’s plenty of opportunity for long walks and fresh air. I believe a calm dog is a happy, well‑behaved dog, and I make sure every pup gets the exercise and attention they need. I know it can be stressful leaving your dog in a new environment. My goal is to put your mind at ease so you can fully enjoy your vacation or event. I’ll send regular updates and photos so you always know how your pup is doing. I’m dedicated to making animals feel at home—just like I hope for my own pets when I’m away. I work from home three days a week, which gives me plenty of flexibility for walks and attention throughout the day when the weather is nice. I’m also home on weekends, so your pets will have consistent company and care. I have a friendly dog and cat to keep your fur baby company. I can crate your dog easily if needed. I am in an apartment, but there’s convenient side walks and paths for taking bathroom breaks multiple times per day.

About: I’ve had experience caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities, and animals have always been a huge part of my life. At home, I currently have a pitbull mix and a weiner dog, so I’m very comfortable handling different energy levels, temperaments, and routines. I also have experience caring for cats and other family dogs over the years. I regularly dog sat a Vizsla named Henry, which gave me experience with high-energy breeds that need lots of attention, exercise, and affection. In addition to pet care, I currently work as a nanny for a family with a French Bulldog and a Bernedoodle, so I’m around dogs every day and absolutely love spending time with them. I’m patient, dependable, attentive, and genuinely love making animals feel safe, happy, and cared for while their owners are away. Pet care is something that’s naturally built into my everyday life and routine. My dogs are a huge part of my day, whether it’s waking up and letting them out first thing in the morning, feeding them, taking them on walks, playing with them, or just spending time with them throughout the day. I’m very used to giving animals constant attention, comfort, and structure because that’s just how I’ve always cared for my own pets. Having both a pitbull mix and a weiner dog has taught me how different every dog’s personality and needs can be. One may want to cuddle while the other wants to play or go outside, so I’m very attentive to their behavior and routines. I also work as a nanny for a family with a French Bulldog and Bernedoodle, so caring for dogs is something that continues throughout my day even while I’m working. I honestly love being around animals and making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Spending time with dogs doesn’t feel like a chore to me at all — it’s something I genuinely enjoy and naturally prioritize in my daily life. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I try to keep everything as close to their normal routine as possible so their pets feel comfortable, safe, and less stressed while they’re away. I make sure they’re fed on schedule, have fresh water at all times, get plenty of potty breaks, exercise, playtime, and attention throughout the day. I also pay close attention to their behavior and body language so I can make sure they’re happy and doing well. I understand how important it is for owners to trust the person staying in their home with their pets, so I’m very respectful, dependable, and clean. I make sure the home stays tidy, follow any instructions carefully, and keep owners updated with messages and pictures so they know their pets are being well cared for. I genuinely enjoy bonding with animals and making them feel loved and comfortable while their family is away.

About: growing up with a family dog, i’ve always looked forward to our long walks! since i've moved to care for my grandma and can’t have a pet at my current home, i’m looking to be the dedicated adventure buddy your pup deserves! i’m an avid walker who cleans up after your pet and loves exploring local parks and trails. i’m just as comfortable handling a brisk, high energy trek as i am a slow, 'sniff heavy' stroll for seniors or 4 legged friends who love getting distracted! all sizes welcome: i absolutely love dogs of all sizes, from tiny pups to extra large breeds. if you have a giant dog, you are in safe hands here! being a taller, sturdily built person gives me a natural physical advantage and a grounded presence :) i don't get easily knocked off balance or intimidated by heavy pullers, meaning your big dogs get the steady, confident, and secure handling they need! hot weather: for dog-friendly clients, i am able to provide low-stress trips to uncrowded, pet-friendly stores/facilities for stimulation and enrichment (including a potty break outside before and after, of course!). i am also happy to walk earlier/later in the day to avoid the heat as well! i also enjoy keeping pets company in-home, whether it's playing with toys, using lick mats, or just spending some time together! my growing services & training: i am now certified in dog training, and offer a train & walk bundle if you're interested!! :) my ultimate goal is to become a true one-stop shop for your dogs, so i am also currently working toward learning professional grooming to add to my services soon! because i work evening and overnight shifts, i have guaranteed availability every morning and midday for your dog’s routine. whether you need a recurring daily walker or a same-day visit because you’re running late, i'm local and ready to jump in! my current job is closing in a few months, so i’ll be even more available for your schedule soon :) in public, i use a short-leash grip, stay hyper-aware of our surroundings without distractions like phones/technology of any kind (aside from photos, of course!), and avoid unknown dogs to keep your pup protected. i pride myself on being a trustworthy, punctual communicator, providing frequent photo updates so you’re always in the loop. i am very confident in my ability to kennel/leash pets & i consider myself well-versed in administering medication. i am keen when reading animal stress signals, ensuring your pet feels safe and understood under my care! as of august ive completed my initial dog training certification and continue learning to better my understanding and confidence in dog training :)

About: My goal is simple: to be the absolute best part of your pet's day! Loving animals is what I do best, and having owned dogs for over two decades, I know firsthand the immense joy they bring to a home—and how intimidating it can be to leave them in someone else's care. (I also have a 20-year-old fat cat, so I’m well-versed in all 27 feline moods and love them through every single one!) Let me take the stress off your mind so you can rest easy knowing your fur kids are in patient, loving hands while you're away. After stepping away from the corporate grind, I'm fully pouring my passion into pet care! I bring over two decades of hands-on pet ownership along with professional dog walking experience to make sure your fur babies get the love, exercise, and attention they deserve while you're away. Safety is first! Collars and harnesses are fit checked before we ever leave the house. It's just as important to me that your pet is safe in my care. I check doorways before opening and closing, check areas for debris of any kind on the floor or in reachable areas that might result in a "not-so good time". Keeping your pet safe is my #1 goal.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Boston Heights

I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with Jenna! She was absolutely amazing with our dog, and we felt completely comfortable knowing he was in her care while we were away. Our dog is very affectionate and loves attention, belly rubs, and basically being treated like a giant baby, and she was so sweet with him. She didn’t just come in, feed him, and let him outside, she genuinely spent time with him and made sure he was happy, comfortable, and getting plenty of love and attention. She followed all of our instructions perfectly, kept us updated, and even took care of our fish for us while we were gone. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing someone so dependable, trustworthy, and caring was looking after Meeko. Finding someone you genuinely trust with your pets and your home is a big deal, and we feel incredibly lucky to have found her. I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a pet sitter. She was truly wonderful!

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Boston Heights

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
