We have three rescued dogs each with their little quirks and they can be a lot of work but a lot of fun. They love Lori. How great is that? All we want is the dogs to be safe and have a good time with their house sitter and with Lori we/they get both. Highly recommend her. She is wonderful and the dogs miss her when she leaves.

About: I have three cats of my own that I take care of. My family has always had a dog or cat in the home, so have been taking care of dogs and cats since I was a child. I am currently working full time from home, so I am flexible when it comes to my daily and weekly routine. We can find a schedule that works for us both! I currently have three cats that.. run our household 😅 they are well tended to and have many toys. Under my care, I will be able to keep your pet happy, healthy and safe

About: I have had dogs since I was little and love playing with them and taking care of them. I’m an athletic person so if the dog is in the mood to play, I can certainly be a great playmate! I have experience with dog sitting overnight, dog walking, and drop-in visits. I work at a nursing home, but I get to choose the shifts I pick up, so my schedule can be very flexible. I am looking for more pups to help out! I can provide overnight care at the owners home. While I am there, I make sure to take your dog for walks, play outside, and give lots of rubs and cuddles. As a person, I am very low maintenance, so you won’t have to provide hardly anything if come care for your pups overnight.

About: Hello! I have had a love for pets my whole life! Starting when I was 12 I began to check in on my neighbor's and family member's animals. I would walk them, feed them, stay the night with them, and love on them! As a recent high school graduate, I am free both weekdays and weekends for the summer and can put my full attention and energy into watching your pet! I always make sure that my animal's needs are taken care of first! I take them on nice long walks and play with them and give them as much attention as possible! I make sure to take them out every few hours depending on how big or small!

I'm so grateful for her, as she took my booking last minute since I had an unexpected family emergency come up. Melody is an incredible pet sitter and an overall wonderful human being. I wish our pets could talk so they could tell us how much they enjoy her company. From the daily pictures she sends us while we're away, it looks like they're having a blast! We're so grateful that we connected with Melody through Rover - we have the utmost trust and peace of mind knowing that our pets and our home are well cared for. She even brought them gifts to play with during her last stay!

Allie was an excellent sitter for my 2 year old German Shepherd Dog Hero! She was attentive to his needs, took him on regular walks multiple times a day, walked him to the Dog park down the road and let him run and play, and sent me regular updates and photos of their time together. Allie is detail oriented and will follow instructions to the letter. Her and Hero played so hard while she dog/house sat with one of his favorite toys that the squeaker broke out of it and she went out of her way to buy him a close replacement for it as well as a bag of treats which she absolutely didnt have to do but Hero and I appreciated very much! I would highly recommend Allie's services to anyone looking for a pet sitter. I was uneasy at first having a stranger stay at my home to watch my dog, but after seeing how comfortable Hero was around her within minutes of meeting her it gave me some peace of mind and Allie is absolutely worthy of trust and your business. Thanks for all you did for Hero and I Allie and I wish you nothing but the best I'll definitely be in contact next time I need someone to help with Hero!

About: My names Halie Sutton PLEASE READ IF YOURE WANTING TO HIRE FOR HOUSE SITTING. I do NOT stay over nights, I can come for 3 hours in the am, mid afternoon or evening. I will only do 6 hours total a day unless we discuss over wise. I have 3 children as to why I don't stay nights. Soon I'll have my yard set up for daycare/boarding! ☺️ I've been involved with animals since grade school and started my career with animals in 2015, I've managed 3 different boarding facilities. I've since then switched into the vet med field and am now doing pet home care. In between those, I've been a bather and groomer. I've also been a flight nanny for breeders and I'm USDA certified for animal transport. I've just moved here from Arizona and would like to go back to doing what I love. I'm very flexible with boarding, walking, and drop ins. I want to make this my main source of income, so I will make your pets stay priority. I would treat your animal how you would treat them and love them, and probably talk in goofy voices to them. I'm able to feed, walk, play, give meds, or just hang out. I do crafts with them during holidays for you to take home, and I can happily update you with pictures throughout my day with them. I'm very flexible I can stop by in the afternoons for a short while during the week and stay longer in the evenings. The weekends I'm very open. I'm very flexible with walking, and drop in visits, I am open to special requests for house sitting, but I won't do over nights due to the fact a have 3 children. I want to make this my main source of income, so I will make your pets time and safety priority. I would treat youre animal how you would treat them and love them, and probably talk in goofy voices to them. I can feed, walk, play give meds, or just hang out. I do crafts with them during holidays for you to take home, and I can happily update you with pictures throughout my day with them.

About: I’ve taken care of my family and friends pets since I was 15 years old. Cats and Dogs of all sizes. I love spending time with animals and I’d love to help take care of your furry loved ones! I have a very flexible schedule! I work part time as a Doordasher, so I will be able to schedule my dashes around clients needs! Im unable to care for pets in my home. My living situation doesn’t allow it, but when I’m at clients home I learn how they care for their pets and I enjoy getting acquainted with pets and understanding their personalities.

FAQs for House Sitting - Richfield

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Richfield on Rover is $44.94 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,418 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Richfield. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Richfield walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Richfield maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Richfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Richfield. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
