About: I have had experience with feeding my friends and neighbors cats when they were away on vacation, but nothing professional. I do not have any training skills, but have dealt with temperamental cats who do not like sharing their space. I have had dogs and cats in my family since I was a child. We had small dogs as well as medium/large dogs and cats. I currently have 2 cats at home! I work full time Monday - Friday so this would be causal meetings and walks. I can feed them dinner or hang with them on week nights. That could be playing with them at their home, taking them to a dog park, or taking them for a walk. My weekends are wide open and I can hang out with your little dude whenever you need :). Unless otherwise specified in my schedule! I live in a one bedroom apartment that is quite spacious with a patio. There are cat toys and scratch posts everywhere. The patio is a catio, which is equipped with cat towers and cat grass. I play fetch with my tempermental boy because it gets his energy out very quickly and he LOVES it. My girly girl is very easy and plays with almost anything. I am more than happy to play with your kitty however they would like. For dogs, I will hang out and play with them at their house or take them to a dog park to get fresh air and more room to run. Fetch is a favorite as well as tug of war! I can take them on long walks around the neighborhood or the beach if the owner is ok with that!
About: I’m a 21 year old college graduate looking to fulfill her hopes of pet setting once again! Being a full time student meant busy weeks, leaving no time for pet care. Something I actively did before transferring to UCSC. But with this newfound, post-graduate freedom, I’m eager to get back into the gig. This was our second time having Sera take care of our two cats, Lyra and Plum, and she did an outstanding job! We had for her 2 1-hour visits per day, and those longer visits really helped solidify our cats’ growing bond with Sera. Like many cats, ours can take a little time to warm up to people they don’t know well. While our babies were still a little shy at first, they warmed up to her quickly, and it was clear Sera made a concerted effort to facilitate that. She was attuned to their body language and knew when they wanted pets, play time, or just a little quiet company. Sera warmly offered them affection while still making space for them to accept her offers of pets and scritches on their own terms. She played with their favorite toys and gave them special Churu treats to help build that positive association to her, which went a long way in helping our cats feel comfortable with her. Within a couple of visits, we were seeing adorable photos of our cats greeting Sera at the door, rubbing up against her, and flopping over to show her their bellies! A clear sign of trust, lovingly cultivated through Sera’s patient and attuned care! She also takes the BEST pictures. Sera was also attentive with the food, water, litter boxes, and our home in general. When we got home, the litter boxes had been freshly scooped, the areas around the litter boxes were swept and tidy, and their water fountains were full with water from a bottle of filtered water we asked her to use. She even took out our kitchen trash, which we had accidentally forgotten to do before leaving, and replaced the bag! By the time we got home, we noticed our cats were shedding much less than they normally do when we come home from a trip— a subtle but telling sign that Sera was giving them lots of pets and love! We highly recommend Sera and would be happy to hire her again in the future!
