Hugh and Mary are wonderful. They are definitely dog lovers. Hugh sent pictures throughout his stay so I was able to see he was having a good time. It was comforting to know he was being well taken care of. They will be my go to dog sitters.

Caesar is extremely knowledgeable about dogs and their behavior. He took great care of Birdie while we were skiing on the mountain for the day, and he offered a number of helpful training tips when we picked her up. She came back happy and well cared for. I would recommend Caesar to any of my friends and family with dogs.

Moriah provides outstanding doggy daycare! Her property is expansive, allowing dogs to be able to run and play in the safety of a well fenced yard. My fur babies got to play with several other dogs in a large yard in safety. She and her family supervise all the dog play both inside her home and out. We look forward to having Moriah provise doggy daycare again. Highly recommended!

About: Dogs of all sizes and personalities are welcome here—I truly love them all. What makes my care unique is the environment I provide: a fully fenced ½ acre yard with multiple play areas for fetch, running, and exploring. We’re just a short walk from both the village and the lake, which means your dog can enjoy safe, scenic adventures every day. Inside, pups are treated like family with full furniture privileges—whether they want to curl up on the couch, stretch out on the rug, or join me on the wrap-around deck for fresh air and sun. I believe in letting dogs live their best life, both indoors and outdoors. I have experience with puppies, senior dogs, and special needs pets, so I can adapt care to match your dog’s stage of life—whether that means extra patience with potty training, gentle support for mobility, or a little extra playtime to burn off puppy energy. My approach is always loving, consistent, and safety-first. Your dog won’t just be supervised—they’ll be engaged, cared for, and made to feel at home. Pet care isn’t something I “fit in” around other tasks—it’s my top priority. From the moment your dog arrives, they will be treated like family. I structure my day around feeding times, play sessions, walks, and rest, making sure every dog has the attention and care they deserve. Whether that means extra belly rubs, sticking to a familiar routine, or paying close attention to their unique needs and behaviors. I’m always tuned in to the little things: how much water they’re drinking, how energetic they seem, or if they just need some quiet cuddle time. Because I live in a dog-friendly environment with a large fenced yard and plenty of outdoor space, it’s natural for me to build in multiple exercise and play breaks throughout the day. I’m also flexible, so I can match your dog’s routine as closely as possible to what they’re used to at home. In short, pet care isn’t just part of my schedule—it is my schedule. Your pup’s happiness and comfort are always at the center of my day. Your dog’s safety and comfort are always my first priority. I provide a secure, fully fenced ½ acre yard where dogs can run, play, and explore without worry. The space is divided into multiple play areas, so I can tailor the environment depending on a dog’s size, age, or energy level. Whether it’s a high-energy game of fetch or a quiet sniffing stroll, every pup has a safe place to enjoy themselves. Inside my home, dogs are treated like family with supervised free roam and furniture privileges—no being tucked away or left alone for long stretches. The wraparound deck allows for safe outdoor lounging and plenty of fresh air, while still keeping pups secure. I build trust by maintaining a calm, attentive presence. I carefully monitor interactions, body language, and energy levels to ensure every dog feels comfortable. For puppies, seniors, or dogs with special needs, I adjust activities and rest times to meet their unique requirements. With me, your dog will be in an environment designed to help them thrive, relax, and feel at home.

Daysha is a lifesaver! I came into town from over eight hours away under very stressful circumstances and had never been to the area before. When my pet sitter canceled at the last minute, I decided to bring my almost two-year-old Chinese Crested with me. My mom suggested trying Rover for doggy daycare. It was 9 PM and less than 48 hours before my arrival, but Daysha responded immediately. She was communicative, professional, and instantly put my mind at ease. She happily agreed to care for my pup on short notice, asked thoughtful questions about his routine, diet, and personality, and was incredibly flexible with an early morning drop-off and pickup time. On our way there, we discovered that the nonrefundable hotel I had booked didn’t allow pets. I had been misinformed and immediately panicked. We reached out to Daysha to ask if she could accommodate an overnight stay instead—even though we were still seven hours away and wouldn’t arrive until around 11 PM. She didn’t hesitate for a second and said, “no problem!” My dog sleeps with me every night, and this was our first time apart. I hadn’t planned for him to stay elsewhere, but Daysha was completely prepared and even had a crate available since I hadn’t brought one. She and her adorable chihuahua mix, Harlow, met us outside, and we introduced the dogs on leash first in a neutral space—such a thoughtful and knowledgeable approach. Then we moved to the backyard so they could get more comfortable off-leash. She even invited us inside briefly before I said goodbye, which I really appreciated. I was worried my pup might have a hard time adjusting, especially since he’s used to sleeping with me, but Daysha handled everything with ease. She didn’t force him into the crate (which meant a lot to me), and he ended up sleeping comfortably in the bed I brought. Throughout his stay, I received regular photo and video updates, and Daysha remained consistently communicative. Honestly, I think it was harder on me than it was on my dog! I’m so grateful for this experience—Daysha truly went above and beyond, and I would absolutely trust her again.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for 14 years, and have experience in basic dog training. I also can wash, and cut nails. I am also experienced in administering medicine (such as pills and ear ointment) and im super affectionate :). Booking day care and sitting with me also includes 24/7 access to dog cameras, so any parents can check on their pup ♥️ I am home majority of the day, I am able to give your pet attention and quality play time and frequent breaks throughout the day. Every once and a while 1-2 friends will stop by briefly, but that’s for 2-3 hours max. I am good at updating my clients their condition of their pup. I also have a fenced yard, and ample time dedicated to your pet. Pet owners that book with me also get special access to doggie cameras to check on their pet’s welfare.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Big Bear Lake commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 454 sitters in Big Bear Lake, 86% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
