“Oh my goodness! Hugh and Mary are the perfect dog sitters. We were a little nervous about leaving Maisy with a sitter as we rarely crate her, she sleeps with us and does not have a lot of opportunities to play with other dogs. Maisy was in love with Hugh and Mary before we even arrived at our vacation home. There were friendly dogs to play with, loving adults to lick and love, soft beds and couches to rest and sleep on and a beautiful yard space to romp about. Hugh and Mary sent lots of hilarious pictures and updates. When I pick up Maisy today I think I will have to bring a T-bone steak to lure her into my car! We could not be more pleased with Hugh and Mary and will use them again and again.”

“Great couple, positive vibes, very polite and understanding when I was running late for pickup. My dog didn't want to leave, he had alot of fun playing with the other dogs. I will definitely book again.”

“Melissa was the absolute best. She took the best care of Kevin and went above and beyond to help me with logistics. Certainly our best experience on Rover so far. Thank you!”

“From what i heard my dog had a great time! Caesar was super nice and friendly and got along great with my pup!! I will be definitely using his services again in the future. Thank you!!”

“Shane was so helpful and great with my dog. He sent multiple videos to me everyday. He has a backyard where my dog could run around and he sent me videos of him walking my dog too. I highly recommend Shane!”

“Buddy, our dog, had a great time playing. Erika took him in many walks and allowed him to play which he needs. We appreciated the updates throughout his stay. Thx for everything!”

“Lynn kept in great communication during our entire trip, regularly checking in and sending photos of our pup. Since it was our first time using a sitter on Rover — and with our whole family out of town, which isn’t our usual situation — we were a bit anxious at first. But Lynn quickly eased our worries. I can’t recommend her enough to care for your dog! Lynn is great.”

“Edith was wonderful! The boarding request was last minute and she graciously accepted the booking. Lucy was well cared for during her stay. Edith even washed Lucy’s bed before I picked her up. Thank you!”

“Patti is the best caretaker for my dog. I have tried a few dog sitters on Rover, and she is the best. She gives daily daily updates on how my dog is doing and my dog looks happy and content in the photos. I am always nervous to leave my dog because she is a special needs dog, but Patti makes sure she is well cared for, even going beyond the call of duty to express her bladder since she is an IVDD survivor and can’t urinate on her own. Patti is amazing. Thank you, Patti!!!”
About: I am currently a dog bather, used to be a dog trainer and have experience with multiple dog breeds and temperaments, I know how to approach timid dogs as well as puppies or older dogs. I am currently a dog trainer so I know how to care for dogs and their individual needs. My current dog has a lot of different medical needs as well. Depending on what the animal needs are, I make a specific care plan for them and follow it exactly. If it works, why change it? We always want what’s best for pets.
“Leticia was a great sitter. She sent me pictures everyday and my dog looked very happy. She has a big yard for the dogs to run around and he always looked like he was having so much fun. Leticia answered her phone promptly and was easy to communicate with. I would definitely recommend her and will definitely book with her again.”

“Kelly is an awesome dog sitter. She sent pictures and updates daily. The dogs were very happy staying with her. I highly recommend her and would use her again in the future.”

“Karyn was great! She watched our two pups for a long weekend and they were well taken care of. Karyn sent us updates, took them on walks, gave them treats, played lots of fetch with our hyper active border collie and made sure to follow the instructions I gave her at drop off. Her home was perfect for what we were looking for and we’ll be sure to have her dog sit in the future.”

“Lacey is an amazing sitter. She always takes the best care of my pup, to ensure her safety and health. I truly believe you can find no better pet sitter than Lacey for your precious pooch!”

“Melissa was AMAZING to Milo. She kept me updated throughout my trip. Her and her family cared for Milo like He was one of their own dogs. I recommend Melissa 100 times more. I will definitely be using her again for future stays.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Big Bear Lake
Hugh & Mary were absolutely amazing! It was my 1st time using a Rover, for my pup & I couldn't of felt more secure booking them. After having a traumatizing experience in the past, they eased my doubt with pictures & videos, reassuring my heavy heart! Will always & forever book them when in Big Bear! ❤️🩷

Hands down the most amazing dog sitter we have ever experienced. He is just an absolute gem and the most friendly/attentive to your dog and their needs. From asking about feeding to potty break schedules, you can truly tell how much he cares about your lil guy. He kept us updated with our dog and even took him on some awesome adventures! He even sent us the CUTEST photos of our doggo! We feel extremely lucky to have found such an amazing dog sitter. I would recommend him 1000x to anyone looking in the big bear area. We hope to book with him again in the future. Thank you Michael!

Jessica was an excellent sitter. She was also very patient with me despite being over an hour late from our initial meet time due to an issue with the address. She sent me updates with pictures to keep me up to date while she was watching my dog. I would absolutely recommend her.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
