“Erin did a great job with my cat! She was very responsive, made sure he got some good attention and playtime, and cleaned up at least one mess! Also, the photos she sent me were amazing - I annoyed everyone in my family by making them gather around to see the batch of photos from Erin every day 😂 I have a feeling this will not be the last time my cat gets to hang out with Erin.”

“Amelie was amazing! She was clear, organized, and took the best care of my pup all while providing the cutest updates. I would recommend her to anyone and definitely will be using her again!!!”

“I found Ed last minute and he saved me ! I could not be more happier with his services. I was gone for 6 days and when I returned my cat (Bella) had been very well taken care of ! I will definitely be using Ed again and highly recommend him !!!”

“Emilee did a great job with my senior dog who can sometimes be grumpy. He totally took to her, even allowing her to give him his meds. Will definitely book again.”
“Makenna was great! She was even able to go out of her way and meet with us on a very short notice ahead of time. All of our animals absolutely love her. Makenna is one of the best pet sitters we have had and we will definitely be asking her to help in the future!”
About: I’ve owned many dogs over my lifetime. From a Min Pin to Collies, Retrievers and Pointers. I have taken care of friends and relatives animals while they were out of town. I have done long time sits (several weeks) to daily drop ins. I’m retired so I have lots of time to care for your pets. I love taking walks and getting to know each animal whether it’s to come hang out and play, feed etc or take for long or short walks. I don’t have any dogs or cats living with me now due to my landlord not allowing pet ownership. They don’t mind if I bring a dog here for short periods.
“Miriah was absolutely fabulous and saved us by being able to check on our puppy on very short notice. She was extremely professional and I came home to a happy, safe puppy. Very pleased!”

“Karlee is a great sitter! She’s super friendly and responsive to visits. She’s done a great job at doing house visits for my puppy to tire him out and keep him engaged when I’m busy. Would definitely recommend!”

“Yana did a fantastic job caring for my kitten with a last minute notice! She took great pics and videos along with thorough notes! Will definitely keep them in mind for future bookings!”

“Genesis was the best pet sitter! She took great care of my cats, her communication was clearly and timely, and I will be recommending her to anyone looking for pet care.”

“Kelsie was marvelous and our cat loved spending time with her. We appreciated her flexibility when our plans kept changing and that she came for a previsit. She also took the time to ask us about his veterinarian in case of emergency. Will call on Kelsie again!”

About: I have taken care of many dogs and love to bond with them. Family and friends have let me pet sit for years and who doesn’t love hanging out with a cute dog. I am currently a part time student and in my off I go on walks and play with my own dog at home. I also go to dog parks to play with my two dogs. About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all kinds for over 8 years and have experience with feeding, walking, bathing, playtime, and overnight care. Friends, neighbors, and family have relied on me to care for their pets and make sure they feel comfortable and safe while away. I also have personal experience with wound care and closely monitoring my own dog during recovery, so I understand the importance of patience, attentiveness, and following care instructions carefully. I genuinely love animals and treat every pet like my own. I’m currently working part time at the University of Virginia, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to spend caring for your pets throughout the week. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, overnight stays, and making sure your pets get lots of attention, exercise, and care while you’re away. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in both my home and my client’s home. I carefully follow feeding schedules, walking routines, medication instructions, and any special care requests. I pay close attention to pets’ behavior and needs and make sure they get plenty of affection, exercise, and supervision. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they can feel confident their pets are in good hands.
“There was a mix-up with keys and Rhiana was initially unable to get into my apartment. She handled it professionally and thankfully we were able to resolve the issue. She sent a lot of pictures and my cat was obviously took to her and was happy to have her there. I highly recommend Rhiana and hope she is available the next time I have to go out of town!”

“Thanks for taking good care of my pups this weekend! I appreciate the attention to instructions and detail, and the photos. Your communication was prompt.”

About: I have taken care of dogs for a friend for a few years now. I also have experience with taking care of a local family’s 2 sweet dogs. I have been their go to for a few years now. I also have experience as a pet owner, I grew up with dogs my entire life, at one time we had a pack of 8. My goal is to ease your pet’s anxiety when their favorite person is not there. I will work to make sure your pet has the structure they need, the enrichment they crave, and the love they deserve. I do work full time Monday -Friday 8am-5pm so I am free on weekends and happy to stay with the animals when I’m not working. I make sure that they have fresh water and get fed at the correct times. I always send photo updates each time the pets go outside or eat. I am very flexible with what is required if you’re able to be flexible and understanding of my work schedule.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Berkeley
Danielle took excellent care of my 2 cats on short notice, with great communication and attentiveness throughout the week. I felt confident that my cats were not just fed but healthy, happy, and truly cared for. Danielle also went above and beyond to help out with some unexpected moments in my apartment while I was traveling (check your smoke detector batteries, everyone!) I would not hesitate to recommend her services. Thank you so much Danielle!

This is my second time hiring Hollister to watch my kitties. It's always a blessing to have Hollister care for my little cats. I truly appreciate the pictures and detailed updates with every visit. Coming home to see how happy my cats were and how clean my house was was such a joy. I highly recommend Hollister to anyone seeking a caring and detail oriented pet sitter.

Emilee is awesome. She was game to take on a new challenge in the form of my anti-social cat, who has a history of aggression with strangers. Thanks to her I was able to leave on a long trip with confidence that my cat's basic needs would be met in my absence -- I am very grateful!
Kris is an extremely reliable and flexible pet caretaker. Travel is often stressful, but one thing I never worry about while I’m gone is my two cats. Kris takes excellent care of them, including giving medication twice a day. She also is very detailed in her Rover cards. Also, Kris is some kind of cat whisperer — she take the most adorable photos when she does check-ins. My one cat is a goblin but when I see her photos of him, he looks so cute I almost forget what an utter demon he is.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
