“Kailyn was a lifesaver when I needed a last minute pet sitter. She was very responsive, sent detailed updates and pictures, and had no problem handling my cat's different foods and medications. I would definitely use her services again!”

About: I have taken care of dogs for a friend for a few years now. I also have experience with taking care of a local family’s 2 sweet dogs. I have been their go to for a few years now. I also have experience as a pet owner, I grew up with dogs my entire life, at one time we had a pack of 8. My goal is to ease your pet’s anxiety when their favorite person is not there. I will work to make sure your pet has the structure they need, the enrichment they crave, and the love they deserve. I do work full time Monday -Friday 8am-5pm so I am free on weekends and happy to stay with the animals when I’m not working. I can also check in on my lunch hour to ensure they have the restroom breaks they need and the enrichment time. I am very attentive when I am caring for you furry family members. I make sure that they have fresh water and get fed at the correct times. I always send photo updates each time the pets go outside or eat. I am very flexible with what is required if you’re able to be flexible and understanding of my work schedule.
“Yana was amazing with our Chance! He took right to her and was happy to stay with her when we left, haha! We would definitely book with her again, Chance would love to see his new best friend 😁 Thank you!!!”

“Ed was exactly who we were looking for! We have 2 large dogs that can be a lot to handle, and Ed handled it perfectly. He followed our instructions exactly as we asked. We also loved the updates throughout! I would highly recommend him.”

About: Not only did I grow up with 2-3 dogs in the house, but my mom has worked for a dog rescue the last 10 years. My family has fostered more than 100 dogs ranging from newborn puppies to end of life care for senior dogs. I have helped with everything from feeding, cleaning, creating enrichment, and exercising dogs of all sizes and ages. I am currently taking time off of work before I move abroad for graduate school in September so am completely flexible! I will have plenty of time to dedicate to your pets health and happiness! I have a fenced in yard and two super docile and friendly spayed female dogs who have also spent extensive time with other dogs and cats of all ages and sizes. I also have spent a lot of time caring for other people’s pets in their homes without issue.
“Megan has been amazing. My cats connected with her very well. Even my older cat who is standoffish with strangers sat on her lap. She came to my rescue when I needed her for another day and I appreciate her so much!”

About: I have taken care of many dogs and love to bond with them. Family and friends have let me pet sit for years and who doesn’t love hanging out with a cute dog. I am currently a part time student and in my off I go on walks and play with my own dog at home. I also go to dog parks to play with my two dogs. I will keep eyes on your pets and play with them and get their energy out. I will also make sure your pet has a new best friend.

“My dog had such a great time with Bertie while I was on vacation, she probably didn’t even notice I was gone. Seeing the pictures of their day together made me happy and I will rebook in the future!”

“I was very lucky to have found Robert when I did. He was a wonderful sitter and even my little spicy Miku seem to warm to him. She can be afraid of strangers, yet Robert was gentle and patient. Could not have asked for a better sitter.”

Amy kept us updated with photos and messages so we never wondered how things were going. Our usually shy dog warmed up to her immediately and I felt completely at ease being away knowing our dog was in such caring hands. We will absolutely work with her again!”

Erin even straightened up the puppy blankets and brought in our mail! She is the best!!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Berkeley
Danielle was incredibly caring for our three cats! I did not worry a single time we were gone, as I knew she was caring for them as her own. Danielle took the time to acknowledge, pet, and play with our cats during each drop in visit. Her notes and messages were very thorough and personal, and she sent lots of photos, all of which we deeply appreciated! I would definitely recommend Danielle to watch your animals, and we will absolutely use her services again!!

Yana consistently does a wonderful job with our two shy kitties! She always spends plenty of time with them and gets them to warm up to her, is great with communication and sending photos, and keeps their food and litter areas neat and tidy. We have peace of mind knowing they are in caring and competent hands while we are away!

This is my second time hiring Hollister to watch my kitties. It's always a blessing to have Hollister care for my little cats. I truly appreciate the pictures and detailed updates with every visit. Coming home to see how happy my cats were and how clean my house was was such a joy. I highly recommend Hollister to anyone seeking a caring and detail oriented pet sitter.

Emilee is awesome. She was game to take on a new challenge in the form of my anti-social cat, who has a history of aggression with strangers. Thanks to her I was able to leave on a long trip with confidence that my cat's basic needs would be met in my absence -- I am very grateful!
Kris is an extremely reliable and flexible pet caretaker. Travel is often stressful, but one thing I never worry about while I’m gone is my two cats. Kris takes excellent care of them, including giving medication twice a day. She also is very detailed in her Rover cards. Also, Kris is some kind of cat whisperer — she take the most adorable photos when she does check-ins. My one cat is a goblin but when I see her photos of him, he looks so cute I almost forget what an utter demon he is.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Berkeley. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
