“Brian is an outstanding sitter! I was in the hospital having a baby and was experiencing so much stress finding a trustworthy person to watch my senior pit bull in my home. He cannot be boarded or crated. My dog has separation anxiety and Brian was able to help calm him and walk him or just hang out at the house with him when he needed a nap. Unexpectedly, my daughter needed to stay in the hospital and Brian was flexible and understanding. You are a life safer. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking great care of my dog-son.”

“Maddie is very responsive, reliable, and accommodating with last-minute requests. She’s great with Ollie and always leaves thoughtful notes and pictures after her visits. We really appreciate her help!”

“Great job, Claudia, and what a thorough report! You paid great attention to my rambling directions, seemed to know just what to expect and kept an eye out for all I suggested to watch for.”

Whether you just need someone to come check in on your pet a few times a day or need someone to play with them all day long, I’m your girl.
“Kristin went above and beyond taking care of my cats medications while I was traveling. My parents were there as well but cannot manage the medications. They enjoyed Kristin’s company very much and couldn’t say enough nice things about her. She even contacted my vet with questions, which I really appreciated. Kristin stopped over to meet and discuss details before the trip which gave me a lot of peace of mind. She has a great way about her. I highly recommend Kristin.”

“Ashely ways goes way above and beyond to care for my cat and home! Sweeping up litter, watering my plants. I always so appreciate her kindness help and my cat really likes her too.”

“Odalys went above and beyond with my five cats while I was on vacation. She updated me at every visit as to how they were all doing. My cats enjoyed her company. She followed all of my instructions. I would definitely have her take care of my cats again when I go on my next vacation...without hesitation!”

I follow owners' instructions closely, keep pets safe and comfortable, and always leave a clear update after each visit.
“Velvet did an amazing job for us. We have a cat who recently started wearing diapers, and she handled him very well. Our other cat is very shy around new people, but she even came out for Velvet sometimes. I would definitely use her as a sitter again.”
“This is our second time having Rebecca help us with our kitties while we’re gone. She does an amazing job with communication and lets us know promptly if anything around the house needs our attention when we get home. All of our cats are happy when we get home and it’s clear that she provided them with awesome care during her drop ins. We will absolutely go to her next time we need care!”

“Crystal was great! She was so good with our dogs - got right down on the floor when she met them and they loved her. She had great communication and we will definitely use her again!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
