About: I have trained and cared for my own dogs, both small and large breeds, all of my life. As a volunteer at animal shelters here in the Bay Area and in Austin, I have learned to manage and adapt to varied—and sometimes difficult—dog personalities, temperaments, and needs. I am also very comfortable with large animals, having owned and trained my own horses for decades. As a retired journalist and journalism professor, I bring trustworthiness, reliability, and excellent communication to animal care. I can provide walks, engaging playtime, comfort for anxious animals, and administration of simple medications. Please note: While I am an expert animal caretaker, I am new to the Rover platform. I am currently offering introductory rates for a limited time while I build my local profile.I I work from home as a writer/reasercher on my own flexible schedule. i can accommodate your and your pets' schedules on weekdays as well as weekends. I provide walks as needed, playtime, comforting if he or she is anxious, simple medicstions and wound-dressing, and and of course feeding and watering on their schedule.

About: I love meeting and caring for dogs, and i live in a simple and comfortable home for new dogs to come and explore. I have a playful 10 y/o Maltese that makes for a great play date. I work from home and have my own dog, so my home is well set up for fur friends to come and hang out at! I live in a 3BR with my dog. Because I have a dog, the house is doggy proof with no snacks or choking hazards lying around.

Drop-In Visits & Dog Walking: • can schedule a meet & greet prior to booking • I accept same-day bookings • I require a 1-day advance notice for cancellations I’ll follow any instructions and safety precautions required - in terms of diet restrictions, using crates, or keeping pet(s) indoors. When walking outside the home, I will always keep your dog(s) on a leash to avoid any unexpected situations. I’ll be mindful avoiding other dogs and heavily trafficked areas to ensure safety. I tend to walk in the morning and afternoon when it’s not too hot on their paws. I carry a portable water bowl to keep hydrated and medical pet kit with me at all times. I will stay in constant communication with pet owner(s) on their pets’ activity through the Rover app or by text. Please provide me with any emergency contacts and safety instructions you would like me to follow in case of an emergency or natural disaster arises. I use Uber to get around, Uber also offers a pet-friendly service if needed. I can provide daily dog walks around the neighborhood, go to a local park, &/or play in the backyard.

About: Hi, I’m Alex! I’ve done informal pet care for friends and family for about 15 years - if anyone goes out of town, they call me first! Since losing my childhood cat & dog, I’ve struggled to get another pet, but I have so much love to give 💗 I’ve taken care of cats from kitten stage to geriatric palliative care, as well as dogs of all shapes and sizes. Guaranteed to take cute pet photos! I am a full time program manager in the tech industry with very flexible hours. I can adjust my schedule to accommodate walks or drop ins. My service area is wide due to a long commute, so I’m able to cover most clients in the East Bay! I think animals thrive more while remaining in their own environment, so I prefer drop in visits or house sitting over stays in my home. I’ve done up to a 2 week stay with a pet while their owner was abroad. I do have the space for smaller animals within my condo for animals who don’t mind being uprooted!

Whether it's a walk, a drop-in, or longer care, I focus on the basics done well and giving your pet real attention rather than rushing through. I have a flexible weekday schedule and can fit pet care in throughout the day — mornings, midday, and evenings all work. The only standing commitment is my yoga schedule on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 5 PM, when I'm not available. Outside of that, I'm easy to book on weekdays and happy to work around your pet's routine. I offer drop-in visits and dog walks at the client's home — I'm not hosting pets at mine, which keeps things simple and means your pet stays in their own environment with their own routine. For drop-in visits, I take care of the basics thoroughly: fresh food and water, clean litter box or potty break, meds on schedule if needed, and real time spent with your pet rather than rushing through. I also handle the small things that make a difference when you're away — locking up properly on the way out, bringing in mail or packages if you'd like, watering plants, and double-checking doors and windows before I leave. For dog walks, I show up on time, use the leash and gear you've set up, and stick to the route and pace that works for your dog. I pay attention to their energy and body language throughout — adjusting if they're tired, anxious, or want a longer sniff break — and I clean up after them every time. If your dog is working on leash manners or commands, I'm happy to reinforce what you're already doing at home rather than undoing your progress. I send photo and video updates every visit so you know exactly how your pet is doing. If anything seems off — appetite, behavior, a limp, anything — I'll flag it right away and follow your instructions on next steps, including contacting your vet if needed.

About: I have 9 years of hands-on animal rescue experience including fostering, TNR work and caring for pets from outdoor rescues. Through this volunteer work and my unconditional genuine love for all animals, I’ve learned to be patient, observant, and gentle, giving each animal the time and care they need to feel safe and comfortable. About: Since I was young, I have always loved dogs and cats. My Dad always referred to our house as Noah’s Ark because we always had so many animals. I received this love for animals from my mother. She had a gift for raising animals for very long periods of time and loved them like they were her children. She called them her fur babies and I have since followed in her foot steps. I love dogs that play fetch and cats, along with their attitude and personality. We spend time walking, playing with and laying around with our family dogs - we have three! Fury is our Chihuahua who loves to sleep all day and cuddle. Bo, our Rottie mix who enjoys walks and playing with other dogs. And our playful pup Gus, who loves to eat! Our sons also love dogs and enjoy having guest dogs around! We love animals and will treat yours as we do ours, as part of the family. My wife works from home and has time to care for and play with your fur babies! She will feed them, take them for walks and gives your dog(s) free reign of the house and yard. I have a locked and fenced atrium and backyard … and three wonderful dogs to keep them company! When it’s warm, the back slider is left open for the dogs to freely go in and out as they please. There is plenty of room for them to run around out back, front and side. They sleep whenever they’re most comfortable and can hang out on the couch or wherever they chose. As mentioned earlier, they very quickly become a part of our extended family! Since I work from home, I have time to care for, and play with your pets! We can follow the same routine they have at home. We have a fenced atrium and backyard as well as three active dogs to keep your fur babies busy! They have free reign of the home and can play or rest where they’re most comfortable!

About: We’ve had pets all our lives. Currently, we have two cats. For the most part, someone is always WFH. The only day one of us isn’t WFH is Thursday. If we know early enough, we can flex our schedules if any sitting is needed on Thursday. We’ve watched bunnies, cats, and dogs for friends/family including giving medication. We have had no aggression from our pets with the pets we’ve watched. We have a second room(atm being used as an office/guest room), so if you want your pet separate from ours pets, that is something we can accommodate. For dogs during boarding, our household prefers dogs that tend to ignore our cats. Also, we have a preference for senior dogs since they tend to be low energy and do not require long walks to use the restroom. For cats, we have experience with all kinds of energy and ages. If you have a cat with a lot of energy, our Taro girl has shown that she loves playing with all the energetic kitties and helps them come out of their shell. However, both our cats can adapt to senior cats as they both love to lounge. We are willing to negotiate our prices if you believe your pet to be low maintenance or if for example doggy daycare, your pet would be with us for less than 7 hours. Just ask and we can see what we can do during the meet and greet. There is usually always someone at home except Thursday. If you need sitting help on a Thursday, reach out early and we can see about flexing our WFH schedule for that week. One of us is a morning person and the other an evening person in case you have a pet with a weird schedule. We ask for a clear schedule such as when to walk and feed and follow it. This information will always vary depending on the pet or even if they are on medication. For all pets, we’ve given them some space, especially from our pets and seen if they can interact or not depending on what their owners want. We also try to incorporate playtime if they want that.

PS. CATS are happily welcomed as well! I only work a part time job and I am not in school, which means I have a lot of time for your fur babies! I play close attention to pets at all times, especially when they are in a new environment. I read their body language just like I would with another person. This helps me better understand their wants or needs.

About: I've taken care of my friends' dogs when needed. I also had a 13 year old German Shepherd mix that I adopted when he was 5 and just recently passed away this year. I am currently working part time, so I am available during the morning/afternoon on weekdays to walk your dog or check in on them for a potty break. I live in a quiet place without a lot of activity happening, and I like to stick with scheduled meal times and a consistent routine.
