“Requested Avary the day before and was immediately reached out to, to confirm the booking and get familiar with our puppy. Avary proceeded to communicate ETA, sending pics on arrival and kept me up to date on the good potty moments and the bad. Will definitely be rebooking and recommend Avary without any hesitation to anyone who needs a sitter!”

“Amanda took great care of my dog while I was out of town. She was always prompt in responding to messages and sent pictures of my dog and updates to let me know how she was doing.”

“Stephanie is the BEST! This was my first time leaving my dog with anyone long term, and she made me feel so at ease, sending me lots of updates. My dog was so calm and comfortable with her from the start. And he was recovering from a medical treatment, so she took extra special care of him, giving him his medicine and keeping him calm. I would definitely recommend her, and we can't wait to have her stay again! Thanks Stephanie!”
“Seamless experience! First time leaving Meeko (7mo) alone for a couple of days. Eliza was great, receptive and would provide pic updates on a daily basis. Would highly recommend. Nuria”

“Kristen had a calming presence that put our anxious dog at ease immediately. There was no panic when we left :) We were really happy with the experience and hope to work together again soon!”

“Jennifer did a fantastic job looking after our 2 dogs for a few days. She took excellent care of them and was very communicative, sending us lots of updates and photos throughout her stay. And she went the extra mile to keep our home tidy during her stay. We are thrilled to have found her and will definitely book her again.”
“Lisa was excellent! She was a great communicator and super reliable. She went above and beyond by sending us pics of our boy and letting us know how he was doing. Our cat obviously loved her and we will happily have her back.”

“Took great care of our Nebby and our home during her 10 day stay while we were out of the country! We could tell Nebby was very well cared for. We would definitely have Em watch her again!”

About: Since 2013, I have raised and trained 3 puppies for Guiding Eyes for the Blind in New York City. I started raising and training each dog at the age of 16 weeks until they were around a year and a half old. This experience not only taught me how to care for dogs, but also how to handle different behaviors, personalities, and daily difficulties. I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember and have dog-sat for family friends and neighbors numerous times over the years. I am well equipped to handle dogs of all sizes and personalities. I am currently a freelance graphic designer who works from home so l have a flexible schedule that will allow me to find the time to take care of your dog in the best way for you! This allows me to focus on your pet and any of their needs that need attending to as well as giving them time for cuddles and love. I have an extremely safe apartment and will always have eyes on your pet. I do not have outdoor space but I will go on as many long walks as your pet needs. Your pet is my priority!

I can shower them, cut their nails, or any specific care they need, and of course take them to walk! I will take them to the park and let they make friend if you want, also I will definitely send you their photos or video to you so that you will feel safe when they are here. We just renovated our house so it is clean and new and very safe. We do have a fence backyard so they can play around there right beside our house. There is a big park so we can walk the dogs there every day.
“Meaghan was wonderful with our little puppy. You could tell that she loves animals and that she knew how to handle a first time meeting without causing the dog unnecessary anxiety. That allowed us to leave feeling secure that Maisie was in good hands!”

“We were moving from New York City to New Mexico, and our longtime dog sitter had also moved away. So we needed someone to sit Kirby, our rascally Golden Retriever, during our Going Away Party. Laura did an amazing job. Kirby loved her, and having Laura around all afternoon was a tremendous help. She's nice, smart, dependable. If you need someone to watch your pet, look no further: Laura is exactly who you need to contact.”

“Kaily was amazing - she took care of my two cats Fredo and Frida overnight for a few days. Prior to staying, she really took the time to get to know both my cats -- and reassure me. I found her to be calm, patient, and sweet. Kaily asked great questions, played with my cats, sent me multiple photos and updates every day, plus took super care of my home. By the end of her stay, my more standoffish cat came around, and looks like they all became good friends. It was so comforting to me to meet her and read all those daily summaries. She is a dream kitty/house sitter! I plan to rebook her in the future and highly recommend her!”

About: I’m a huge animal lover who’s excited to help care for your pets. While I’m not currently able to own a pet myself, I grew up with a red-nose pit bull who sparked my love for animals at a young age. Since then, I’ve continued spending time around animals through volunteer work at dog shelters in Florida, volunteering as a dog walker at Sean Casey Animal Rescue in NYC, and most recently being approved to volunteer with Paws NY after completing orientation and training. As a former Girl Scout, I was CPR certified and learned responsibility, patience, and compassion early on. I’m comfortable caring for animals of all sizes and personalities, though I’m not comfortable handling reptiles. I currently work a Monday–Thursday 9–5 schedule, but I’m available outside those hours to help care for your pets, including overnight stays to provide reliable, attentive care for your pets. At the moment, I’m unable to host pets in my home due to roommate restrictions, but I would be more than happy to provide pet sitting, walks, or care in your home. I’m very attentive and always make sure your furry babies stay safe, especially when it comes to toys, them trying to chase or eat things that aren’t meant for them and interacting with other animals during walks.
Bay Ridge pet parents share their Rover experiences
We had such a wonderful experience with Lina. She house sat for us while watching our 10-week-old puppy, and we couldn’t have felt more comfortable leaving him in her care. She was incredibly communicative throughout the entire stay — sending regular updates, photos, and check-ins that gave us so much peace of mind. Our puppy absolutely adored her and was so comfortable around her from the start, which says a lot at his age. It was clear she was patient, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure he felt safe, happy, and loved while we were away. We came home to a relaxed, happy puppy and a well cared for home. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!

Olga is a wonderful cat sitter. Both of our cats absolutely loved her, which says a lot because they can be very selective with people. She was caring, reliable, attentive, and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. We came home to two very happy and relaxed cats. Would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and genuinely caring pet sitter.

Lucy is absolutely fantastic. She was very flexible with her schedule and worked with us when last minute changes happened. She constantly kept us up to date on any issues / concerns and took great care of our kitties. Bonus: she also nursed my basil plant to better health than when I left it! She was able to give our kitty her medicine, manage some territory issues, and gave them both lots of attention. We trust her completely with our space and our precious cats. Our girls love their Aunt Lucy!

Mary was awesome watching our anxious dog for the first time! She gave updates and seemed to really care about our dogs well being, asking questions before the visit. Would love to book her again if the opportunity arises! Martin (our dog) was left in great hands for house sitting.

This is our second time having Liz and Lukas house sit for us and we are customers for life. We’ve grown to trust them and their care of our dogs by their frequent communication and questions to make sure they are providing the best experience for our dogs. We highly recommend them to friends.

Christina was a great house/dog sitter! She put in te time to keep Charlie Chi happy and engaged and well-walked, communicated with me to ask about details, sent me photos of the places she visited with Charlie, and was respectful of my home. I wouldn’t hesitate to engage her again.
