About: I’ve always had dogs as a meaningful part of my life even though my current lease doesn’t allow me to have one of my own. For the last six years, I helped take care of a previous partner's dog, including watching him alone for weeks or even a month at a time. He was adopted and mildly reactive, so I learned to be attentive to body language, manage space around triggers, keep walks calm and positive, and make sure they felt safe while still getting plenty of stimulation. I’ve also cared for my sister’s dogs, including a rambunctious, high-energy German shepherd puppy and a mature Australian shepherd, so I’m comfortable with smart, active dogs who need more than a quick walk around the block. I especially love connecting with intelligent dogs who thrive on enrichment, structure, and engagement, whether that means sniffy walks, varied routes, leash games, practicing cues, or just giving them the time and attention they need to feel fulfilled. I recently moved to Brooklyn, and spending time with dogs feels like the best possible way to explore the neighborhood. I enjoy letting dogs sniff, investigate, and set a natural rhythm instead of rushing them through a walk. I work from home three days a week, which also gives me a lot of flexibility for housesitting and daytime care. I’m responsible, communicative, and happy to adapt to your dog’s routine and personality - the more you can tell me about how to show them a good time, the better a job I can do! I also love being around cats, whether they're cuddly or aloof - I'm happy to hang out and keep an eye on them as needed :) I work from home up to 3 days (any days) a week and am very flexible weekends and evenings; I'm happy to discuss how I can meet your needs and match your schedule! If your pet has any special instructions, including medications, exercise needs, reactivity, feeding routines, or comfort preferences, I genuinely want to know so I can follow them carefully and consistently. For dogs and social cats, I like to make the time feel like a little local staycation rather than just basic care. When we’re not out walking, exploring, sniffing, or playing, your dog will be welcome to hang out near me, cuddle up, or relax in the same space. As a rule, I won’t leave pets crated, confined or ignored. I’m also very mindful that I’m a guest in your home. I’ll keep things clean, respect your space, and leave minimal traces behind. My goal is to be your peace of mind while you’re away: someone who keeps your pet comfortable, loved, and well cared for until you’re back home. Finally, you don't have to blindly trust me on a whim - I'm happy to do a meet and greet to get to know you and your pets in your space. I grew up with Rottweilers my entire life, so big, strong, misunderstood dogs have always felt like home to me. Five years ago I adopted my own dog, Rocket, at 8 weeks old. He's now a 60-pound handful with major reactivity, which means I've learned patience, calm energy, and how to read a dog's stress signals before they escalate. That experience has made me a better, more attentive sitter for every dog, not just the tricky ones. Over the years I've pet sat for many friends' dogs, including an elderly dog who needed extra gentleness, a slower pace, and a lot of attention to comfort. Whether your dog is a easygoing senior, a high-energy young pup, or something in between, I'll treat them like my own. I'm currently making a career shift to spend more time doing what I actually love -being outside, staying active, and caring for animals, and I'm excited to bring that energy (and Rottweiler-honed patience) to your dog or cat. In your home, I respect your space and your pet's environment, keeping things exactly as you left them and making sure doors, gates, and anything else are secure. Whether it's a dog walk, a drop-in visit, or an overnight stay, I check in with clear updates and photos so you're never left wondering how things are going. For dogs, that also means paying attention to leash habits, energy levels, and any reactivity or triggers you flag ahead of time. For cats, it means respecting their pace and not forcing interaction if they'd rather observe from a distance first. At the core, my job is to make your absence as unnoticeable as possible for your pet - same routine, same comfort, just with me filling in.
