“Heather took the best care of our dog while we were away and I could tell our girl was having a great time with Heather! She sent us lots of updates and pictures we is always so appreciated and kept the house so nice and clean! When we got home it was like we had never even left or been away :)”

“Samantha was so great taking care of my dog, Figgy. She was responsive to messages and sent updates with pictures. Samantha was super patient with me, as it was my first time booking a sitter, and didn’t even flinch at his complicated feeding routine or high energy.”

“Kimberly is great! She keeps in touch and sends awesome pics of my Dog, so I always felt connected to her! She was very loving and caring towards my dog and goes the extra mile! I have booked her several times!”

“Mark was fantastic! We were out of town for nearly a week the first time Mark house/dog-sat (he had previously walked our pup), and Mark handled everything. Most importantly, our dog loves him! But Mark also brought in the mail, kept an eye on things around the house during some large storms, and communicated with us regularly. The day we were coming home, Mark was willing to stay later during a tornado watch when our flights were delayed. He also left the house very clean in terms of dishes and laundry, which was not required but a nice way to come back from a trip. We will definitely be using Mark again in the future!”

“Absolutely wonderful! This was our first time using Rover and she made our experience well worth it. Lorrie is very personable, helpful, a great communicator, asked all of the right questions & followed instructions to a T and most importantly, I could tell our pets enjoyed her company. Not only were our pets well taken care of but so was our house while we were away. Overall, she is a lovely person that you can tell enjoys doing this for the animals 🐾💜”

“Marissa was a great sitter for our Kai dog. She sent pictures daily and Kai ate great with her. The house was clean when we returned and Kai was well taken care of. We’d be happy to have her sit for us again :)”

About: I have been trusted with the responsibility of pet sitting since I was able to drive. Whether it is friends, family, neighbors, or friends of friends, I have always been someone my circle feels like they can depend on to take care of their homes & precious fur babies! I have experience with dog walking, house sitting, as well as drop by pet sitting. I have also been fortunate enough to have a dog of my own, Ginger, who is a 7 year old Bernadoodle! I am currently post grad working a part-time hybrid social media marketing position in town that only requires me to be on-site 2-3 days a week. Getting to spend time with animals during my down time would be a dream come true for me as I would feel great not only filling a need but getting to hangout with new fur friends while I do it! I will ensure your pet is consistently cared for and is provided with everything they may need. It is my goal to help them stay on their normal routine as much as possible while you are gone. They will be fed regularly, always have fresh water, and always be given the loving they deserve!
“Mindy was great! Very communicative and loving toward our girl. Kai recently lost her brother so we are a bit more sensitive about her getting attention and having a routine while we are away. Mindy allowed us to travel with peace of mind knowing Kai was in good hands. Will definitely re-book. :)”
“Marissa was amazing, she gave frequent updates and pictures. Played with my dog as much as he wanted and even took him to the dog park. She also even came back when she didn’t have to in the middle of the night due to my flight getting cancelled last minute she was a life saver. Would absolutely recommend.”

“Michelle was great with our dog, Duke. This is the second time she watched him, and he was SO excited to see her! Unfortunately, our address wasn't updated in Rover and so she had to go across town out of her way first before coming to the correct address. Despite our inconveniencing her, she was still willing to stay a little late if we needed her to. We really appreciated her patience with both US and with Duke :)”

“Zoey is fantastic and so accommodating of my pets' additional medical needs. One of my guys ended up super sick right when I was heading out of town (classic), and Zoey took great care of him giving medications multiple times per day and sending photos/updates often. I highly recommend her and always feel that my critters are safe with her.”

“Katie is so wonderful and our pets had a wonderful long weekend with her! She was very communicative, sent such cute pictures of both pets, and gave them so much love! She was also very patient, accomodating and good with our senior dog (13) when he had a rough night and wasn't sleeping well. Our cat, who isn't always the most social, also enjoyed her company (& getting food from her, of course). I would recommend Katie 1000 times over!!!!”

About: I’ve always taken care of pets anywhere I go. Growing up, I couldn’t have a pet so I made sure to take any chance to spend time with friends’ pets. I’ve raised two puppies now as well as helped care for an end of life dog. I work M-F during the day, so evenings and weekends are generally free. I have a good routine with my two dogs so it would be just fine adding more pets into the mix I enjoy taking dogs on walks just as much as I like snuggling and playing. I have a very small fenced in yard, so I'm used to plenty of walking with my dogs. I also treat other peoples homes with as much respect and care as I would for the people themselves and pride myself on being trustworthy and reliable.
“Outstanding communication! Kortney not only took excellent care of my dogs, but she also handled some unforeseen circumstances at the house ( water seeping in the basement, a power flicker). We'll definitely use her again!”

“Ashley was absolutely fabulous taking care of my Old English Sheepdog Whimzy while I was away in France for almost 2 weeks. I hope to have her take care of Whimzy again soon. Highly recommend!”

“Amanda was great and help me out in such short notice. I have two huskies who can be quite hyper sometimes, but she handled them well and they seem to really get along with her. Took great care of the house while we were away and I highly recommend her.”

“Tanya provided exceptional care for our cat and two dogs while staying over a long holiday weekend in our home. She asked excellent questions during our "meet and greet," so when it came time for us to leave our animals we knew they were in good hands. She arrived to house sit early afternoon on Friday and left late on Monday to accommodate our travel schedule. Our animals each have particular needs and personality quirks. For instance, we have one high energy dog that requires oral medication, frequent potty breaks, and long walks. Our other dog is content sleeping all day and needs to be convinced to take short walks! Plus, the energetic dog will eat the lazy dog's food if given the opportunity, so we feed them separately. Then, our cat is low maintenance, but still needs food, water, affection, and to have her box cleaned daily. Finally, the dogs wake up at 5am for breakfast (whether we're awake or not). Caring for the three of them is a lot of work and Tanya did a great job attending to their needs! We came home from vacation to happy, heathy pets and a clean house. We could not have asked for a better pet sitter. I highly recommend Tanya and would absolutely employ her services again.”

On top of being conscientious and responsive, Mark is just a straight up dog person — he understands them and enjoys being around them. He took great care of my pups during a several day stay while I was out of town. My dogs can be a handful on leash, and he had no problem figuring them out. I definitely recommend him.

Ashley did an amazing job! I don’t have easy dogs, one is reactive and the other is very skittish. The skittish one warmed up to her by end of day 1 and my reactive dog had no issues at all warming up to her. She was very good about sending updates and pictures. Highly recommend!! I’m so happy to have found someone I can trust to watch my pups when I need to leave town.

Samantha was so great taking care of my dog, Figgy. She was responsive to messages and sent updates with pictures. Samantha was super patient with me, as it was my first time booking a sitter, and didn’t even flinch at his complicated feeding routine or high energy.

Zoey is fantastic and so accommodating of my pets' additional medical needs. One of my guys ended up super sick right when I was heading out of town (classic), and Zoey took great care of him giving medications multiple times per day and sending photos/updates often. I highly recommend her and always feel that my critters are safe with her.

Ava was a wonderful house sitter for my dog Whimzy. She sent me photos and updates and Whimzy looked very happy and well cared for. My house was sparkling and clean upon return. Super happy with her stay and would 100 have her sit again - hopefully soon. Highly recommend!

Katie was an all star sitter. She was so good with our dog Callie when we were gone. She sent us regular updates, lots of photos and videos of Callie having a great time, and she left our house spotless. Could not ask for a better sitter, we will definitely be asking her to sit again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Augerville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Augerville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Augerville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Augerville. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
