About: Greetings! First - thank you for considering me and my services. I have been a pet owner all my life, and have been the proud parent of hamsters, fish, cats, dogs, and a rabbit! I'm also a responsible house sitter, having been both a homeowner and a renter, I understand the value of not just your pets, but your possessions, your mail and plants, the cozy space of your home, the relationships with your neighbors. I have provided these services for friends and families for most of my life. I have always loved animals and I have always owned pets, been a member of dog parks and puppy play groups, and I volunteered for the Champaign Humane Society for many years. I have also had pets with medication needs, so I am experienced in that area. For years I also groomed my own dogs, and I know that each pet has its own needs, preferences, and personalities. Finally, I recently lost my dog of 15 years, and although I now live somewhere that does not allow pets, I need animals in my life! From my own experience of being a Rover customer for many years, I also know how important it is to pet sit within your home with no disruption to your pet's routine or surroundings. I'm retired, so I can be flexible with your scheduling needs for both your pets and your home. I'm both an early riser and a night owl, so whatever works for you also works for me! I have been both a renter and homeowner, so I know how valuable your pets are, but also your cozy home, your plants, mail, and relationships with your neighbors. I have owned a bunny, hamsters, cats and dogs. But I also have an affinity for birds and reptiles. I love dogs of all sizes and breeds, buts especially big ones, and I also have a knack for walk training and socializing with dogs that may have problems with them. About: Hello! My name is Sam, and I’ve loved animals for as long as I’ve been able to walk and talk. I grew up surrounded by dogs and cats so caring for a wide range of animals has always been a natural part of my life. I’m currently earning my degree in Animal Science at the U of I, with plans to pursue either veterinary school or a career in animal conservation or animal control. I’ve wanted to join Rover ever since I was little and watched my aunt run a mini daycare out of her home. Since then, I’ve pet‑sat for neighbors, family friends, and anyone who needed an extra hand with their pets. This summer, I’m interning at the Vermillion County Animal Shelter to continue building hands‑on experience. I’ve also worked as a Cat Care Volunteer at the Champaign PetSmart, where I helped with daily care, cleaning, and socialization. I’m excited to bring my experience, reliability, and genuine love for animals to every pet I care for! I'm currently working a part-time internship so I have plenty of free time for your fur-babies on weekends (all day) and weekdays (before 11 and after 3)! I care for pets by following their normal routines, keeping their space clean, ensuring safety, and providing consistent attention, exercise, and monitoring so they stay comfortable and relaxed while their owners are away.
