“Mark was fantastic! We were out of town for nearly a week the first time Mark house/dog-sat (he had previously walked our pup), and Mark handled everything. Most importantly, our dog loves him! But Mark also brought in the mail, kept an eye on things around the house during some large storms, and communicated with us regularly. The day we were coming home, Mark was willing to stay later during a tornado watch when our flights were delayed. He also left the house very clean in terms of dishes and laundry, which was not required but a nice way to come back from a trip. We will definitely be using Mark again in the future!”

About: Hello! My name is Sam, and I’ve loved animals for as long as I’ve been able to walk and talk. I grew up surrounded by dogs and cats so caring for a wide range of animals has always been a natural part of my life. I’m currently earning my degree in Animal Science at the U of I, with plans to pursue either veterinary school or a career in animal conservation or animal control. I’ve wanted to join Rover ever since I was little and watched my aunt run a mini daycare out of her home. Since then, I’ve pet‑sat for neighbors, family friends, and anyone who needed an extra hand with their pets. This summer, I’m interning at the Vermillion County Animal Shelter to continue building hands‑on experience. I’ve also worked as a Cat Care Volunteer at the Champaign PetSmart, where I helped with daily care, cleaning, and socialization. I’m excited to bring my experience, reliability, and genuine love for animals to every pet I care for! I'm currently working a part-time internship so I have plenty of free time for your fur-babies on weekends (all day) and weekdays (before 11 and after 3)! About: What sets me apart from other sitters? I genuinely love getting to know each pet’s unique personality and routine. Whether it’s a slow walk for an older pup or high-energy playtime for a young one, I meet animals where they are. I have two dogs of my own—Theo and Sage—so I understand how important it is to have someone you trust caring for your pets. Beyond personal experience, I have a BA in animal science and I’m currently in the process of earning my master’s degree in Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communication, with a focus on companion animals. I also work as an assistant educator, so I bring a calm, thoughtful approach to every visit. I’m confident administering medications, caring for nervous or senior pets, and yes—I genuinely don’t mind deep-cleaning litter boxes. I treat every animal like family, with patience, care, and a whole lot of love I’m currently working full time until 3pm. However Whether it’s morning walks, meal times, or evening play sessions, I’m used to planning my day around pets’ needs. I live in a three-story townhouse with plenty of space for pets to feel comfortable—whether they want to play or have their own quiet area. My own dogs are friendly, but I can easily keep pets separate if needed. I also have some dog training experience, so I’m confident handling different temperaments and routines. Your pet will be safe, loved, and well cared for here or in your home! I do ask that your pet be crate trained and doesn't bark in the crate since I do live very close to neighbors.
