I have a daughter with autism and I have learned how important it is to see and listen to her and try to understand her needs. I think animals are the same way. They can tell when we aren't paying attention. I try to make sure im connecting with animals in the same way I might with a small person who is seeking my attention.

I like to have an initial meet and greet with your dog. If dog walking, Ill take them for a short walk. If pet sitting, I can take them for a walk or interact in your home. I just want to get a sense for temperament before accepting the job.
A typical day
I have my 10 year old with me every other week. She occasionally comes along for drop-ins or walks. She definitely comes with me for overnight sitting. We both love to give lots of snuggles and play games dogs. I can't say fetch never gets old, but i can play for quite a while. I really try to match energy with your dog. If they need big play and we have a safe place, we can have big play.

I love love love dogs! Being a dog auntie lets me get my dog fix without the commitment! I have had three cats that had been rehomed at least once prior to coming to live with me, so I am a cat autnie too! But dogs (esp. BIG DOGS) have my heart. To get my dog fix, I often care for my friends' dogs, walking, feeding, and pet sitting them. I have lived with, cared for and feel comfortable with a variety of breeds, small and large. My favorites have been the Great Pyrenees and the Black Labs. 🐕🦺💙🧡

This is the second time I have had Amy help me and stay with my girl. She’s outstanding! I already have the next visit scheduled! She really does love dogs and she’s very good with them. Very reliable and dependable.
Amy is wonderful with dogs. She genuinely loves them, and she handles my two large, energetic dogs beautifully even though they can be a handful. She is patient, attentive, and always spends extra time making sure they are well cared for. I always come home to happy, calm dogs after she has been with them, and I feel completely confident that they are in good hands when Amy takes care of them.
