Haley was absolutely incredible! Our dogs have been sat before and when we come home they seem to be in a funk. But with Haley, it felt as though our pups had been so well taken care of! Not to mention our home was so cared for as well. She was very communicative, and open! Highly highly recommend her! She’s just lovely!

About: I was raised on a small family farm, and have cared for goats, chickens, ducks, pigs, and more while a part of that. As a child and teenager, I trained dogs through my local 4-H program, and later on started petsitting for family friends. I've cared for puppies, senior dogs, cats, chickens, cows, pigs, goats, turtles, geese, canaries, ducks, and so many others, and I'm always willing to learn something new! I work full-time, night shifts during the week and mornings on weekends, but I'm typically only gone 8 hours max, so there's still plenty of time for me to provide plenty of care and attention to the pets! I typically stay overnight, and will either crate the pets if needed, or let them sleep with me, I wake up with them and spend my day hanging out with them, playing or just relaxing. I do my best to care for each pet as their owner would, to help minimize stress.

Michelle was a past student of mine, but I didn’t know that until I met her!! She was friendly, and I could tell she loved what she did. I knew my dog, Otto, liked her!! I knew I would be leaving Otto in good hands. When I came home, I could tell Otto was well cared for! I would hire Michelle again, and I recommend her!

Tatyjana was fantastic. She gave us daily updates and was quick to respond. It was obvious she pampered the dogs while she was here; she even got them to tolerate nail trimmings! When we got home, the dogs were happy, the house was clean, the chickens were taken care of. We will absolutely hire her again.

About: I’ve been a dog owner since 2020, when I got my first dog as a puppy. Since then, I’ve learned firsthand what it takes to raise, train, and care for a dog from a young age. I currently have two dogs and they’re a big part of my everyday life! I’m a senior in high school with no extracurriculars during this season, which makes my schedule very flexible. I also have my own transportation, so I’m reliable and easy to coordinate with! I take safety seriously and always make sure dogs are supervised and comfortable. I follow all instructions closely, keep routines consistent, and pay attention to behavior to make sure each dog feels secure and stress free.

Nicole did an excellent job in our home for an extended stay of 13 days with our 2 dogs. She was great with daily pupdates and pictures-which were greatly appreciated because we missed our babies. She dispensed meds several times a day to our senior German Shepherd and was able to keep our very active, lovable, snuggly -yet sometimes naughty Whippet puppy busy. I knew from the minute I met her that she was a great fit for us and I’d use her every time we need someone to stay or drop in for us!

About: As a dog mom to a high-energy German Shepherd/Husky mix, I’m very familiar with big dogs who need lots of exercise and structure. I also have experience caring for cats and horses, and I’m comfortable with a wide range of personalities, energy levels, and routines. As a Registered Dietitian with a special interest in canine nutrition, I care deeply about supporting pets’ health from the inside out! As a remote dietitian with a passion for animals, wellness, and staying active, dog walking fits perfectly into my flexible schedule and aligns with everything I love: movement, fresh air, and caring for animals. I’m currently pursuing dog nutrition training because I believe in supporting pets with natural, nourishing care. Whether it’s a walk or some extra playtime, I treat every dog like my own and make sure they feel happy, healthy, and loved. I follow your routine closely to help your pet feel secure and comfortable. I’m experienced with pets of all sizes and temperaments and always use positive reinforcement and gentle handling. About: Always had pets (cats, dogs, rodents) growing up, one year of horse barn experience and dog training apprenticehood at Summit K9 in Rochester NY! My dog training consisted of... - consistent feedback from two licensed trainers - leash walking skills - reactivity reduction (barking at other dogs, the door, people) - managing doggy daycare including half a day of one on one training and half a day of social groups - creating groups, managing consistent training across multiple employees - assessing the training and social level of any particular dog - crating skills - taking crate sensitive/aggressive dogs in and out of crates - walking people sensitive/stranger aggressive dogs - teaching cue recognition (place, sit, down, yes, no) - caring for boarding dog's needs - walking multiple dogs at once, training dogs to walk together With cats I am comfortable and knowledgeable about... - providing appropriate play - basic training using food incentive and luring - picking up a cat appropriately by supporting the spine and reducing tension on the scruff - responding to stomach issues and puke - reading body language for anxiety and aggression With horses I am familiar and comfortable with all daily care including stable cleaning and fetching skiddish horses from pasture. As for my pets.. My first cat was a stray found at 4 weeks that I learned how to teach to groom and care for himself. I also know how to manage ear mites, or any other kind of skin or tick care. Our dog was a breeder who also has needed a lot of specialized care. I am most experienced with rodents (have owned over 8 rats, 4 guinea pigs and a rabbit)! I've never personally owned a bird or a lizard, but have cared for friends and I always commit to accurate research. If you have any questions or worries regarding my experience and competency I would love to hear from you! I am very available right now, and I intend to make pet care my biggest priority. I am happy to discuss all kinds of scheduling. I love going above and beyond for my pets. Our cats are indoor and outdoor but I am always checking on them and keep a consistent feeding schedule to prevent overeating (they have sensitive stomachs). Our dog is also very needy, as she has some anxiety from her last owner so she needs to always be accompanied while outside and will not do certain things alone. I keep my rats in my room where they get frequent engagement with the whole family, and I enjoy making homemade puzzles and toys for them. Overall, all of our animals live active, healthy lives!

I cannot say enough positive things about using Joey as a dog and house sitter. If you are considering booking him, just do it. Prior to leaving town, I had to change my booking dates more than once and Joey handled it very professionally. While away, I received hilarious pictures of my very happy dog having a great time. My dog and booking can be “a lot.” We have acreage with many critters and a strong dog who loves to hike and swim. All went well and then some… Joey left the house immaculate, my dog tired out and my bird feeders filled. I couldn’t have come home from a long vacation to a better situation. I can highly recommend Joey and will definitely be rebooking him.

About: As long as I can remember I’ve taken care of pets of my own and others. From dogs and cats to lizards and birds, I’ve learned a lot from years of animals being by my side. That’s why from dog walks to overnight stays, your pets are in safe, loving hands-24/7, 365 days a year. I have plenty of free time to keep any pets enriched and well cared for when you cannot. Life can be busy but I like to spend time making others happy, especially animals! I live with a large family and with my cat, Coco. I feed her 1/2 a cup of dry food in 3 meals as she is an indoor cat and often she will be given wet food as well. I enjoy keeping my friend as happy and healthy as possible since she’s like my own child.

FAQs for House Sitting - Attica

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Attica on Rover is $27.75 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 572 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Attica. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Attica walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Attica maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Attica choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Attica. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 88% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
