“We love Marissa! Took excellent care of our pets and went above and beyond to make sure we didn't have to worry about anything. Ants invaded the house due to the high heat and she took are of it expertly. Also took out and returned the trash cans as well as other little things that make us truly grateful so we can enjoy our trip and know our pets are well taken care of. 1000/10 stars!”

“Coral was very easy to work with regarding setting up a drop in. This was the first time Maggie had someone other than family watch her . Luckily Coral understands that it takes time for dogs to adapt. We loved the detailed info on how Maggie did and know that she was truly cared for.”

“Helona has been such a huge help over the last year, always reliable and excellent communication. I love knowing I can go to work and my baby Vincent will be well cared for in my absence. Vinny is always happy to see her!”

“Faith is amazing! She took such great care of our cats and went above and beyond for us. We are very grateful for her and feel lucky to have someone so trustworthy to take care of our cats.”

“Carlos was an all-star! It’s always hard to leave the pets when we’re headed out of town, but it was a lot easier having someone as good as Carlos checking on them. Carlos did a great job, but I especially want to praise how communicative he was; daily notes and pictures of the cats, giving little status updates throughout his visits. It made me happy to know that he was there hanging out with them, and seeing them open up throughout the visit. I definitely recommend you reach out to Carlos when you’re planning your next adventure and need a pet-sitter. Thanks Carlos!”

About: I have had dogs my whole life. My oldest is nearly 15. I have 4 currently, lab, shepherd, border collie mix, boxer. I can handle pretty much any breed, temperament, & love them all! From puppies to seniors, I’m comfortable helping with any needs. I’m also a big trail runner, so if your dog needs a little extra I can help! I have a flexible schedule working for myself, so I can adjust my schedule to meet you & your pets needs, whether that’s dog walks or drop by visits! My dogs are all crate trained while I’m away or in the car. At home they have free roam with a fenced in yard. I will care for your pets like they were my own.

“Joshuah is a great guy, he truly cares for the dogs he walks. We ran out of food while abroad and he stepped in to buy just the right kind Otto needed (real food). Thank you Joshua! Look forward to another visit.”

“She's awesome! Very communicative and lots of texts and pictures. She loves our animals as much as we do and went above and beyond to make them happy. Don't pass her by and we already booked another trip with her. Five stars all the way and you wont be disappointed.”

“Lauren did an amazing job of watching my cat for a week! She was easy to communicate with and she sent lots of photos and updates, I totally recommend her for any of your pet-watching needs.”

“She did a great job! The cats were happy when we got home and she even took care of an issue with our smoke detector while we were gone. I would definitely work with her again.”
“Morgan is so sweet with my dogs. I never have to worry if they’re being well taken care of while I’m away. She’s also a great communicator and gives thorough updates each time she visits.”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and taken care of my own, my friends and families dogs while they were away. I am very comfortable around all breeds of dogs and am willing to adapt and learn how to best care for your pet. I’ve potty trained puppies and taught older untrained dogs how to sit, and I give my dogs a lot of attention and love! I would love to take them to the park to play with other dogs or just a walk around the neighborhood if they’re not as outgoing. I also have experience with administering oral medication and bathing dogs afraid of water, so let me know what accommodations your dog needs. I’m currently working part time for the summer at Cal Poly, and have a catering gig some weekends. I’m available to feed pets multiple times a day, take them on walks mid day/evenings, and keep company overnight. I have a small, fenced yard for pets to stretch out and get sun, and I live right next to Sant Rosa park which is perfect for walking. I’m also available for drop ins at clients homes late night and early morning, although I would prefer not to do overnights.
“Brittany was so professional. She was communicative and went the extra mile! My sweet (and feisty) Iris was well taken care of and my home warm and welcoming when I returned!”

“Claire took care of my pups for 3 days with two visits per day. The dogs loved going on walks with her and want to thank her for the wonderful care she provided them while I was away! I also thank you for her care and love she gave the dogs while I was away. While it’s not easy for me to leave my dogs at home if I leave town, it does help a ton that Claire was taking such good care of them. I’d have her back anytime the dogs need her. Thanks Claire!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Atascadero. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
