“Ali dogsat our two dachshunds, Odie and Bella, for three nights in our home while my husband and I were out of town. From the moment we had our “meet and greet” we felt at ease with her. She kept in touch with photos and videos and they were very happy and much better off staying in their home instead of a long road trip with us. I will definitely be booking Ali again and highly recommend her!”

“Our cat loved Ron! She is a handful and he did a great job of keeping her busy and happy. A real plus with Ron is that he is with your pet most of the day every day that you are gone.”

“Trisha was a great dog and house sitter. Our two young dogs were happy to see us come home but it was clear that they had been well taken care of. They ate well, which shows that they weren't stressed about our absence. They had obviously had a lot of attention. I recommend Trish wholeheartedly for anyone else. Karen”

About: Hello, I'm Amanda—a behavior specialist with a deep passion for working with children with autism. Alongside my professional role, I also run a business specializing in interior painting and light remodeling. With five wonderful kids—three young adults carving their paths, an animal-loving 18-year-old son, and a sweet, gentle 7-year-old daughter—family and community are at the heart of everything I do. Growing up surrounded by animals and spending summers on my grandparents' farm instilled a lifelong love for furry friends. That bond inspires my work today as I provide attentive, loving care for pets while their families are away. Whether it's supervising your beloved pup or ensuring all their needs are met, I take pride in being observant, detail-oriented, and dedicated to keeping them safe and happy at all times. In addition to being a great multitasker, I prioritize understanding the unique needs of every pet, bringing warmth and care into each interaction. I know leaving your cherished furbabies can be tough—that’s why my goal is to create a stress-free experience for both you and them. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me! Feel free to message me with any questions or for more details. I look forward to meeting your furry family members and being part of their care. I am currently a caregiver for a family friend and so I am always home. I have full availability to step away anytime if your pup needs a walk or your pets need a drop in for food, exercise, or lovins. I have 2 dogs, 2 cats, 4 large fishtanks, and a handful of various reptiles (and growing). I have experience working at a wildlife rescue with all kinds of different animals.
“Nikki did a wonderful job taking care of our dogs, Reuben and Frank! She was great with them, kept us updated with excellent communication, and sent us pictures while we were away, which we really appreciated. We came home to happy dogs and a clean, tidy house. We would absolutely recommend Nikki and would gladly have her watch Reuben and Frank again!”

“Miss Holly was amazing with our animals, they were very well taken care of. Everything was exactly as we left it upon our return. I would definitely recommend her and would use her again if the need arises.”

“Baylee was a wonderful sitter for our dog Zima! She has great communication and kept us updated while we were away, including sending us lots of pictures which made us feel so at ease! We’re kind of those crazy pet parents whose dog is our whole world and we could not have asked for a better person to watch Zima. Baylee even continued our routine of doing a doggy advent calendar with Zima each morning and sent pictures which were the highlight of each day!”

“Very thankful Veronica was able to come back and stay with Kelowna again when we had a last minute trip pop up! Awesome communication, great pics of our pup and we always feel very good knowing Kelowna is in good hands with her when we have to be away.”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is that caring for animals has always been a normal part of my life. I grew up around animals and have experience caring for dogs of many ages and personalities, including energetic puppies and older dogs who need a slower pace and extra attention. I'm comfortable with the routines that come with good pet care: consistent feeding schedules, exercise, basic training reinforcement, and paying attention to changes in behavior that might mean a dog needs something. I have experience helping with puppy training basics life patience during walks, reinforcing commands, and keeping them mentally stimulated. I also understand that senior dogs sometimes need gentler exercise, more frequent bathroom breaks, and extra patience. In addition to dogs, I have experience working with animals in a farm environment, which taught me responsibility, consistency, and how important it is to pay attention to an animal's needs and body language. Because of that background, I'm calm, reliable, and comfortable around animals with different temperaments. Most importantly, I treat every pet like they're my own. I know how much trust it takes to leave your animal with someone else, and I take that responsibility seriously. Pet care has always been a natural part of my daily life. I grew up around animals and have experience caring for dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies to older dogs who need a slower pace and extra attention. I enjoy spending time outdoors walking dogs, playing with them, and making sure they feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. As a college student, I plan my schedule carefully, which allows me to stay organized and consistent with feeding times, walks, and check-ins. I genuinely enjoy being around animals, and spending time with them is something I look forward to throughout the week. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets. I make sure pets are always supervised, comfortable, and kept in a calm environment where they feel secure. In a client's home, I carefully follow the pet's normal routine for feeding, walks, medications, and playtime so they experience as little disruption as possible. I also pay close attention to behavior and body language to make sure pets are feeling safe and happy. I respect my clients' homes and keep spaces clean, secure doors and gates, and communicate regularly with updates and photos so owners can feel confident their pets are being well cared for.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Arlington
Mary always does a fabulous job when staying with my boys. I love the pictures she sends with periodic updates. Recently there was a problem of ants marching in and attacking the boys food. Mary found ant spray in the utility room and attacked the problem immediately and then let me know. I never have to worry when Mary is with the boys.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Arlington walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Arlington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Arlington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
