Charlene took excellent care of our 2 dogs and cat. The dogs were let out frequently and she played fetch with them, despite the nasty weather. She took great care of our home and left everything tidy and neat. She was very communicative and adaptable. We had a major flood warning and she evacuated the dogs for a few nights and made our cat as comfortable as possible while waiting out the storm. We would absolutely welcome her back in the future to take care of our zoo. Thanks, Charlene!

We are first time cat owners. Our guy is just 10 months old, and this trip to help deal with some elderly parent issues in Florida was the first time we’ve traveled since getting our cat. We were very nervous. Luckily, we found Camille and she was available. We could not be happier. Excellent communication, lots of pics and videos of our guy, and she went above and beyond for us many times throughout the week. By the end of the first day, we knew Ulrich was in excellent hands and we’d made the right choice. I want to tell you that Camille is awesome, we are thrilled with her performance as a sitter, and that we think our cat now officially has an aunt, but I also kind of want to keep quiet about it, because I don’t want her to be booked solid the next time we need her. :P And there will be a next time. She’s fantastic. Hire her.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is that caring for animals has always been a normal part of my life. I grew up around animals and have experience caring for dogs of many ages and personalities, including energetic puppies and older dogs who need a slower pace and extra attention. I'm comfortable with the routines that come with good pet care: consistent feeding schedules, exercise, basic training reinforcement, and paying attention to changes in behavior that might mean a dog needs something. I have experience helping with puppy training basics life patience during walks, reinforcing commands, and keeping them mentally stimulated. I also understand that senior dogs sometimes need gentler exercise, more frequent bathroom breaks, and extra patience. In addition to dogs, I have experience working with animals in a farm environment, which taught me responsibility, consistency, and how important it is to pay attention to an animal's needs and body language. Because of that background, I'm calm, reliable, and comfortable around animals with different temperaments. Most importantly, I treat every pet like they're my own. I know how much trust it takes to leave your animal with someone else, and I take that responsibility seriously. Pet care has always been a natural part of my daily life. I grew up around animals and have experience caring for dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies to older dogs who need a slower pace and extra attention. I enjoy spending time outdoors walking dogs, playing with them, and making sure they feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. As a college student, I plan my schedule carefully, which allows me to stay organized and consistent with feeding times, walks, and check-ins. I genuinely enjoy being around animals, and spending time with them is something I look forward to throughout the week. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets. I make sure pets are always supervised, comfortable, and kept in a calm environment where they feel secure. In a client's home, I carefully follow the pet's normal routine for feeding, walks, medications, and playtime so they experience as little disruption as possible. I also pay close attention to behavior and body language to make sure pets are feeling safe and happy. I respect my clients' homes and keep spaces clean, secure doors and gates, and communicate regularly with updates and photos so owners can feel confident their pets are being well cared for.

Bridgette is the best! She's stayed & cared for our pets a couple of times now and has been absolutely fantastic. Our dog adores her and we love the daily updates & pics that she sends. Bridgette is super thoughtful and caring in all things, not just taking care of our pet family (& any special needs they have), but the house always looks amazing too! She is truly a pro, and I couldn't recommend her more highly.

Tonya was completely reliable in fulfilling what we had agreed upon for taking care of Sadie and Sammy and spending four days and nights with them. She has excellent experience and is sensitive and understanding about older pets, and people! She kept in touch with us daily and sent photos. I would not hesitate to ask Tony to return next time we need to go away.

From Anika's first stroking of my cat's fur during our meet and greet, I could see that he felt comfortable with her. It was comforting to know that he would let her provide the love and cuddles we wouldn't be home to give him. Thank you, Anika for taking good care of our senior cat!

Karolina was a wonderful dog sitter! She took such great care of our dog, Hank, and kept him happy and comfortable while we were away. It was clear she really cared about him, and that gave us a lot of peace of mind. When we got home, everything was clean and just as we left it—she even tidied up before heading out. We will definitely be using Karolina again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, responsible, and thoughtful pet sitter!

Caitlin was awesome! She watched our dogs on our wedding day and brought them to the venue to get pictures with us, not once but twice when we were running behind and had to skip the first chance. She was communicative and our dogs seemed to love her, and I know both I and my new husband appreciate that we were able to make it happen. She helped make it possible for us to relax and enjoy our day and not worry about the pups. We’ll definitely be requesting she watch them again.

Trisha was a great dog and house sitter. Our two young dogs were happy to see us come home but it was clear that they had been well taken care of. They ate well, which shows that they weren't stressed about our absence. They had obviously had a lot of attention. I recommend Trish wholeheartedly for anyone else. Karen

About: my grandma has 5-10 golden retrievers that i have helped her take care of for the past 10 years sometimes taking care of them while she is out of town. pet care fits into my daily routine because i have a cat although he is pretty low maintenance i still feed him and make sure he has water throughout the day. i don’t have a fenced yard but i can take your dog on a bike ride with me if he/she is getting to cooped up. i can also take to dog park if that’s alright with the owner.

Natalie did a fabulous job caring for our two big dogs while we were out of town. Her communication is awesome, she asks great questions, keeps us informed and updated on our boys, and left the house clean. We felt comfortable knowing she was there and will put her at the top of the list for rebooking the next time we travel. Our pups were happy and content. Thank you Natalie!

FAQs for House Sitting - Norman

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Norman on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 3,598 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Norman. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Norman walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Norman maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Norman choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Norman. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
